Let's say Golovkin does a Hagler, goes ballz to the wallz, throws his body punches with abandon, eats a few right counters but finally finishes Canelita with a well placed left hook to the liver in 5 rds of total war; where does that leave him?
Gingerman gets destroyed and is back to the drawing board, his star status and overall health very much in doubt.
Gennady goes in search of another worthy opponent and gives Jacobs a return for a paltry 7 mill $, and this time KO s him.
After another easy KO of Sanders for 8 mill $, he goes for a rematch with Gingerman in 2020, but gets an injury in training camp and has to relinquish his titles, then retires for good.
Wouldn't he have been much better letting Canelo coast to hear the final bell the first time?
He would have made twice or thrice as much money overall with the immediate return; why risk everything when so close to the end of his career, with so much riches to gain at last?
What would YOU have done if in Gennady's shoes?
"Curry stepped up the pace in the third round and was in command until the end of the fourth when McCallum caught him with a solid right to the head. The momentum shifted. During the minute's rest after the round, McCallum told his corner that Curry was starting to cover up to protect his body.
Thirty seconds into the fifth round McCallum threw a right hand to the body, and, as Curry covered, he fired a harmless hook to the head. McCallum was testing Curry, and inwardly he smiled. Soon, he thought.
A few moments later McCallum hooked twice and then showed Curry a slow right uppercut to the body. "I just wanted him to see the right hand," McCallum said later. With his eyes locked on the decoy, Curry leaned back and lowered his hands. "
Kill the body and the head will fall.
It does not apply in the Canelo case, though.
What happens when you try go to someone's body when they're a good counterpuncher and shorter than you? Put 2 and 2 together
The guy lowers his hands to protect his body, and that's where you crack his jaw instead.

Hagler was actually a good boxer, better than GGG. so there was a method to his madness. Obviously you're talking about the Hearns fight but Tommy was the one who started the war, Hagler welcomed it and finished it. GGG would to if Canelo came at him like Hearns did.
Exactly. Hearns was dumb enough to get macho with Marvelous Marvin Hagler when he should have boxed him. Hearns was a superb boxer. He might have gone the distance at least.
Canelo is extremely cautious, and GGG is probably too old at this point to be forcing the fight. Look at the above photo of Golovkin, he looks like crap. He's looked like crap since before the Monroe fight.
Canelo got the judges and is going to cruise to a snoozy decision victory.
Oh Yeah?
That's a new one.
Up to now, the official BS story is that he was afraid of Canelita's counters.
Maybe someone should have told Gatti to stop left hooks attempts to Dorin's liver; Dorin's too short for that, ha ha.

The reason triple jab doesn't go to the body is BECAUSE canelos a midget

Which fighter hits hardest at middle: Canelita or Lemieux?
Golovkin sinks much, much bigger and taller Lemieux with a body shot but he's going to be fearful of ginger midget who couldn't even deck once over the hill, 64 year old super lightweight Cotto ?
Who spouts this nonsense?
Superfights have been ended by single bodyshots; the way to kill the head is by killing the body.
No BS from Sanchez will ever change that.

Lmfao you said "throws his body punches" lil g would never do that against canelo

Golovkin’s walk around weight, when not fighting 4 times a year... looks like a Super Middleweight at the very least!

Are you serious?
How many SMWs do you see climbing up in a ring with their bellies hanging over their shorts like that?
GGG isn't a SMW - he's a 35 yo MW who relaxed and put on weight while out of the gym for months living at home with his wife and family.
T Crawford posted a pic of himself standing on the scales weighing 177lbs during a training break. Does that mean Crawford should be fighting at cruiserweight?
One thing that "Tubby G" pic proves beyond any reasonable doubt is that Golovkin isn't doing steroid cycles in between camps, btw.
GGG is very good and he has an iron jaw be he still can't be careless and reckless with a puncher like Canelo. Canelo has KOed guys with one good punch. Neither guy is likely to forget defense and go full out for a KO because they both know how risky that is.
Hagler was actually a good boxer, better than GGG. so there was a method to his madness. Obviously you're talking about the Hearns fight but Tommy was the one who started the war, Hagler welcomed it and finished it. GGG would to if Canelo came at him like Hearns did.
If he had mowed through Canelo the accusations of PEDs would've gone through the roof..hell they've been accusing him of PED usage from back in 2012, I can only imagine if he had put Canelo to sleep.
You know exactly what would have happened if GGG had tried doing a Hagler on Canelo.

Not much, Canelo only looks like he can punch. If you ain't chinny, you go the distance..
Hagler be like, “wait yo ass fights at 160, but you weigh around 175 on fight night...?”
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/onsnan2FcN8/maxresdefault.jpg
No, Hagler be like, "Uh ... why are we the same size now?"
You know exactly what would have happened if GGG had tried doing a Hagler on Canelo.

Career defining Christmas tree doe
Honestly it would be career defining, but it takes two to tangle. Would love to see both guys just say '**** it' and throw down.
