He just got invited to play in the nba all star game, spencer and Thurman took an L here casuals don’t know them like they do Bud
Bob has been doing an awesome Job, he's getting Bud all the right fights through the divisions.
Again with Horn who is a great match up for bud.
But Bud isn't really charismatic like a young pretty boy, Oscar, Roy, Joshua or even like GGG who is a friendly guy to most people.
Plus, his btch talk about not being FOY shows how dumb he can be. Classless, so this guy isn't really interesting, he would have to play the villain role and it wouldn't even work lol
But being famous and being great are 2 different things.
"Loma can outbox us but likely can't KO us, TC can outbox us and KO us...let's go with Loma" type a thing.
:lol1: now you trolling..maybe Bobby wants to leave pacquiao for loma because he could be a bigger star. Look at the facts
Loma: two time gold medalist, white euro with flashy skills
Vs.
Bud: two time or so felon, slick brotha from da hood
Who you got??
doubt so, i don't think there'll be another ppv star in a long time, i don't think even canelo can be one
Well he technically is already one. Floyd exaggerated what a PPV star is by setting the standards high. But really 300-500+ k consistently is a PPV star. Trinidad was no better than a 500k PPV star, but he was a PPV star nonetheless. He was seen as a star.
Canelo-GGG - 1.3m
Canelo-Cotto - 900k
Canelo-Lara - 300k
Canelo-Angulo - 350k
Canelo-Mayweather - 2.2m
5m+ PPV's in 5 fights is definitely a PPV star. And those 300-350k vs Lara and Angulo was pretty damn impressive.
Joshua is also a PPV star, granted only in the UK, but still he is one.
It's hard to say, I don't think so. He needs to beat someone like Pacquiao, Mayweather, Bradley or Cotto. A big name. He doesn't have that big name yet. He has good names like Gamboa, Postol, Beltran, Burns, Diaz, Indongo but no real big name fighter yet. Beating Horn won't do anything for TC, but Horn beating him will do a whole lot for him. I mean he will win his first 147 title by beating Horn, but as far as names go, Horn doesn't do much for him. TC is racking up a good little "B class" resume though.
It's too bad Roach/Pac/Arum don't want to make the fight vs TC, that would've really helped his career. Looks like they're helping out Lomachenko by giving him a shot at Pac, probably because he's small and they view him as the less dangerous fight "Loma can outbox us but likely can't KO us, TC can outbox us and KO us...let's go with Loma" type a thing.
He is a damn good fighter but I haven't heard about his fights making much money. I don't think his fights make any more money than the fights of Spence and Thurman. I think he beats Thurman and loses to Spence if those fights happen.
in the the PPV era you cant count all the PPV cash cows on one hand.. not every great boxer is destined for PPV success but that doesn't make their career a failure. roy jones never became a PPV success. so its not for everybody.
mr. 50K crawford ? not looking too good.
and oh yea hardcore boxing fans (the "purists") dont buy sht on PPV. majority stream.. yet they debate PPV numbers and are keyboard accountants FOH.

He may have better management and exposure now with ESPN but I think TR are dropping the ball putting his next fight PPV.
Crawford is a laid back, quiet dude who doesn't show a ton of personality and I think the public these days wants there American fighters to be loudmouthed or fla$hy and flashy and he'll never fit that bill. Maybe if he was from NYC or LA it would be easier.
I hope he breaks the mold and catches on and the public get smarter and get behind him but I think it's going to be a challenge especially given the other high profile names in the division are likely to continue their little round robin without him.
