all of a sudden getting a savage beating and then KO'd means you are a great fighter. this guy aint coming back from this. then absolutely hardly any praise for the guy that beat him (cause he is white). for weeks I have heard from the black supremacists here that dorito was the best there is never be beaten and will win the tournament.

Very true! As fans of any fighter, we dont mind vulnerability in the fighters we like and root for as long as they give it their all. Often in losing, a fighter gains real fans, not just fair weather fans or fans who only want to win money on a fighter. Boxing is more about skill and athleticism, in there you show who you really are, your character. Bravery, heart, determination to keep going against the odds means a lot more to me.

besides being exhausted and emotional which is commendable after an effort like that...I dunno, I'm kinda worried about the body language. Guy needs to be getting checks in hospital. Guys with iron chins that eventually get cracked are the worst for lasting damage to careers. Hope he can keep that holyfield toughness going and not just fold from here on out. Not cool to go out the way he did from a health perspective.

It's as Dorticos said, he always causes trouble in Russia. This time the trouble he is causing is taking up a hospital bed for a week and having multiple doctors monitor him while they could be helping out Russian citizens Classless.

Dorticos made me proud in defeat tonight. He’s got a marble chin. But, more importantly, he has the heart of a legend. Those were the tears of a man who didn’t die on the field of battle, but was all too willing to. Gassiev impressed me at least as much. He’s a real class act. Quite the worthy champion. Standing ovation for these two warriors.

That mofo put his life on the line to win and it shows with how hard he is taking this defeat. Gassiev shows the type of champion he is consoling him as well. Two great champions that had a great championship bout. Dorticos put up an monumental effort, showed an incredible chin and will but also a very limited offensive arsenal and zero ability to adapt!! Gassiev was excellent tonight. His combination punching was beautiful and he mixed it up well. Absorbed/ blocked a lot of Dorticos’s work early and moved well although Dorticos pretty much followed him and didn’t cut the ring off effectively. Seems to be a really decent guy too from the build up vids and this. Should be a sweet fight in May.
