When you allow a man who is intentionally trying to get in your head to do so, that shows mental weakness. You shouldn't be emotional, that only leads too making poor decisions and getting hurt. Just like he usually does.. Human beings are emotional creatures. We're not robots. If being annoyed, angered, offended, etc. by other people was proof of mental weakness, then there wouldn't be anyone alive (yourself included) who couldn't be deemed weak.
