CARL FRAMPTON faces former four-weight world champion Nonito Donaire in a cracking fight on April 21 in Belfast. It is just a shame that boxing fans have been made to choose yet again as it clashes with Amir Khan's return to the ring on the same night in Liverpool. Boxing doesn't need to dilute its audience any further by running big shows against each other on the same night. Click Here To Read More]
that being said, i can't see who theyre gonna match khan up against thats going to make for a good fight in his first fight back after a few years - it will be a glorified tuneup.
you mean the same marquez that had to jump two divisions and wind up getting cheated at the scales....thats the mayweather you talking about
The same Marquez that gave Manny Pacquiao hell in all four of their fights.
Anyway...it's bad for the fans when two shows are on tv at the same time. Much better to put them on different weekends, Lord knows that there are many dates with no boxing what so ever.
Pick one of those instead.
If you bothered reading what I said, I said the skill levels between Mayweather and Marquez were miles apart. As far as Khan is concerned, he started his career as a lightweight and Canelo as a junior welterweight. The weight difference had everything to do with Canelo breaking him down. You don’t know what you’re talking about to begin with. Somehow Khan isn’t supposed to take an easy fight even after being gone for two years and by your reasoning, take the most dangerous guy at 147 in Spence. You’re a quack if you think jumping up in weight to face Canelo wasn’t murder in itself let alone face Spence on his first fight back in 2 years. You’re clueless bro...Weight had nothing to do with Floyd because Floyd cane from the lower weights himself unlike say Khan fighting Canelo. Khan should have fought someone with a pulse, Spence is available for the Khan fight.
The loss was against a solid oponent who weighed 300 lbs on fight night so we can't count that fight. We expect to see him fighting someone with a pulse tbf
We all expected him to lose yea of course, Canelo is considered a P4P fighter. But he brutally KO'd Khan.. After a loss like that his mental phyche isn't in the right place. He needs a east fight to get back his confidence. They are talking about Granados.. If that fight happens then believe me, Granados will beat him.. It's gonna be another Sad am vs Cotto upset.
Its happening more and more. Theres a clash the week before this aswell, Katie Taylor going up against Flanagan. Thatll be embarrassing for Warren when a womans fight does better than FlanaganWhat annoys me is that fans get caught up with the promoter's motives, but don't address the network's motives! The networks are just as much to blame! HBO, SHO, and ESPN make the schedules, give the dates to the promoters. They know what they're doing!
I don’t think it’s a dick move in either case I think it’s more down to a lack of communication. It’s something they all need to work on in the future
In Warren's case it clearly was a dickmove, the night Eubank Jr had his PPV-fight Warren put together a free to air show on his channel with Eubank v Thompson 2, Calzaghe v Eubank and Saunders v Eubank Jr.
Just to sabotage the PPV numbers of the Eubank fight.
Absolute dickmove. What else can you call it? Now he complains about a fight being scheduled for the same night as his? Hypocritical piece of ****, that's what he his. Hope he and promoters like him (Hearn included) die off finally so that our sport can flourish again.
I thought this was just an American problem.

Serves him right, Frankie Fisheyes pulled the same dickmove when Eubank Jr fought.

Khan will be fighting a bum or a has been. Quiet disappointing really. Good fighters choose people like Marquez as tune ups the way Mayweather did. well khan himself is a has been and he's nowhere near the level of a mayweather to take on a top guy after a layoff. There's probably close to 10 guys at welter that would beat khan at this point

Khan is coming off a loss after 2 years, and a KO loss (one of the most brutal KO's of the year at that).
Let's be real, he isn't gonna fight a top dog nor should we expect him to.
Marquez had no business with Mayweather that night or any night. The weight disparity was big yet the skill levels were miles apart. Quiet the tune up for Mayweather alright. Khan is liable to toy with his opponent no different.Khan will be fighting a bum or a has been. Quiet disappointing really. This is never good for business, not good for the fighters and not good for fans. Both fights will lost viewership because of this.. Obviously Frank will take the bigger hit even though Khan is most likely fighting a washed up fighter (some will call Donaire washed-up, heck they even call Frampton that) but Khan is by far the bigger name and coming out the jungle he's got alot of momentum, his name was literally everywhere.. There wasn't a day where someone wasn't talking about Khan so they Jungle appearance really helped him.
