Josephs Parker’s promoter Dave Higgins says that Eddie Hearn is easy to work and make a deal for a fight as long as you're reasonable with negotiations. He believes Deontay Wilder and his team did not get the AJ fight next because Wilder's team are difficult to deal with.
Dave Higgins: "Sometimes in boxing camps, one party pretend they want a deal but they are bluffing, they don’t want the fight and they kill the deal. That’s not the case here, we want the fight and Hearn and Joshua want the fight".
“Whilst at first we wanted close to 50% we respect that Joshua is a commercial juggernaut and settled for a more reasonable split. Wilder is asking for 50-50 and refusing to budge, is he trying to kill the deal? Because 50-50 doesn’t sound right!”
“Eventually with Wilder demanding so much, the fight did not look like it could be made so we then entered negotiations with Hearn at the right time and became the right fight for the right money”
He also goes on to say “If you look at Deontay Wilder closely, you’ll notice he has no legs! His legs are like strings”.

That was a fascinating interview.
Higgins is a very intelligent guy. One might consider him an outsider artist in boxing.
I enjoyed the interview deffo worth a watch and Higgins is a nutcase but he came across real well in this interview. He's done a good job to get where he has with the so little backing he has in New Zealand.
Parker Promoter: Joshua is A Lot of Hype, Softer Than Wilder
"There is a lot of hype and glamour. But we believe Joshua will fold at unification level like England fail to reach World Cup finals," Higgins told the Daily Mail.
The other option for Parker would be a unification with WBC world champion Deontay Wilder, who earlier this month demolished Bermane Stiverne in the first round at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
But Higgins feels Wilder is the more superior fighter and the more dangerous fight. He feels that Joshua has a "glass jaw" and is by far the more winnable contest because of that.
"People have been asking why we don't make a unification fight with Deontay Wilder. For us it's simple: Anthony Joshua is the softer of the two," Higgins said.

They are all prize fighters and most boxers never see that one payday that sets them up for life whilst some get payday after payday.
I respect Wilder for sticking to his guns for a 50/50 deal because that's how you negotiate you start high and when you're dealing with money you're dealing with numbers. As mediocre as his record might look the numbers sure are good.
I respect Fury asking for 60/40 because he did what no other heavyweight could for over a decade. I also respect Fury asking for a winner takes all, in his first fight back, which Joshua and Hearn will never take because it's a reality they'll walk away with nothing.
I also respect Parker for starting at 50/50 but quickly finding a suitable figure because they know they are worth peanuts financially. I'm guessing the deal was made easier with a rematch clause in Parker's favour.
Let's see all these fights.
Personally I believe AJ will not come through all three of them. If he does he deserves all the credit for it.
Even if he doesn't come through that gauntlet...he is still sitting on his Wembley insurance with a domestic and local rivalry with previous foe Dillian Whyte and the young pups over at Warrens stable in Gorman and Dubois especially who claims to have iced him in sparring.
blame the system rather than wilder. I dont blame wilder, hes forging a nice easy living fighting bums and not getting hurt back. all he has to do is every few months or so make a bit of noise about wanting to fight a big name and people are stupid enough to believe it. or willing to go along with it anyway. He must know his limitations.
True, Wilder is allowed to write his own ticket. Granted two potential opponents got popped for PEDs, so I can't fault him there. But the rest of his resume is a joke. I really believe his goal is to go 51-0 by fighting journeymen from here on out. The PBC hype-machine that helped to hype Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, Berto, will be in full swing trying to hype up Miller and Braezeale as legit threats to make the win look bigger than it is. For the next four years he just has to price himself out, and keep fighting C-rate opponents and he's 51-0 and telling the world he is TBE. LOL.
Why doesn't he address the blatant and abhorrent ducking of Wilder. Wilder proposed they fight one another and the winner face AJ, but Parker and his team didn't make a peep.
In fairness, hard to criticise Parker for that when it looks like he is definitely fighting AJ next.
Parker vs Wilder early next year, with AJ taking on a mando to keep the orgs sweet, then winners fight for all the marbles later in 2018 would have been great. But if Parker wants the big money now you cant blame him.
I personally dont think Wilder is ducking AJ, stalling maybe. Wouldnt surprise me if they discussed it in the meetings that Hearn, Finkel/Haymon had about the fight. It makes way more money later in 2018, once the the fight has had time to sink into the publics consciousness as 'the' fight to make.
Better just hope Ortiz and or Parker dont ruin the script
I never get why these two didn’t fight each other or make offers to each other.
Wilder was too busy asking for 50% from AJ. If Wilder had negotiated with Parker instead and beat him, he'd become a unified champ and then could maybe even demand 50% against AJ.
If AJ beats Parker and has 4 belts against Wilders 1 belt, Wilder will struggle to get anything more than 35%.
