would have been his most lucrative fight to date. And could've got his revenge for being beat down like a bytch by floyd. So why didn't the rematch happen? Was he scared? Was it because he would've been drug tested?
Excellent post. And much respect from Another Trav from Queenz.
lol, no doubt. Queens get the money. I'm just amazed that folks try to discredit the greatness.
actually this is what he said --
"Look, do you know how Mayweather can be beaten? Only by knockout and how can you knock out an opponent that does not want to fight, doesn't throw punches, and hits you with the jab and you may have won the round but give it to him," Marquez told Boxing Scene.
"If the fight is proposed and the conditions are acceptable, then of course . But we all know how things are done when fighting Mayweather in Las Vegas. In that city the officials protect him, let him do everything. Fighting him is a burden," Marquez said.
“Mayweather has the defense. He has the difficult defense,” Marquez said via Fyghthype. “He uses his counter punching very well. He uses his distance. He’s a great fighter. It’s a difficult fight for Manny. He has a difficult style. Mayweather has great defense. Mayweather has the perfect style to win this fight. If Manny wins, it’s better for me. My heart is for Pacquiao,” Marquez said.

--NEWSFLASH--
When you get shít on in the sport of Boxing, it's hard to get a rematch because nobody wants to se it.
After a two year layoff Floyd got up off the couch and beat one the best fighters of this era with ease. Thats a top win.
The fact is JMM was only 3-3, when he fought at over 140 pounds.
That's not best at all, that's not even average.
Now, if you say JMM was "..one of the best of his era" at 135 pounds and under, I would agree.
I think you have to look deeper than a name on a resume and look at other factors such as age and weight.
Credit to Floyd for winning after a 20 month layoff but understand JMM coming up 2 weight classes wasn't a threat and that's why the odds makers had Floyd as a big favorite.
These dudes would rather discuss what are the coolest trunks Floyd wore to a fight or speculate what he'll spend his money on than fights that aren't pertaining to Floyd, GGG (because they link to Floyd), Loma (because they link to Floyd) and Pacquaio (because they link to Floyd).
yup it's really sad. but hey at least they're acting like idiots here and not in public lol
Rematches with JMM or Manny would be pointless. Floyd dominated both using his arm length and movement. Most beleive he would beat both just as easy anytime they'd fight because JMM nor Manny are the kind of grimy, tough, come forward brawlers that could force Floyd into an ugly rough fight like a Maidana.
yeah, because those two cats were actually trying to take each other's head off, instead of clinching and running but that's none of my bizz.
They tried to take his head off as well. He won't let them. All fighters except Ricardo Mayorga keep their hands up because they are interested in defending. But the most important thing on the fighters mind is to win. Marquez and Pacman are not gifted enough defensively to be able to avoid shots while delivering their blows.
Marquez is the consummate counter puncher who throws beautiful shots after his man attacks. He sets great traps and is able to make his opponents for their mistakes. An ultra aggressive fighter is tailor made for him. Floyd knows this, he is bigger, smarter and better at what Marquez does than Marquez himself. Hence the shut out victory.
Pacman will blow you with his speed and power if you allow him. But he's also sets traps. He's willing to take a shot to land his shot. He believes his landed blow will have more effect on you than vice versa. When he fought Floyd, he engaged in a mental battle. He caught Floyd in traps but Floyd figured them out fast enough and he caught Manny in his traps. He froze Manny, had him thinking instead of fighting.
Bottom line is that Floyd is superior to them. They didn't go to war with each other for entertainment only. They went toe to toe with each other because that's the best way for them to win. They are two equally matched boxers.
Against Floyd they were tasked with impossible odds. They were fighting a master boxer, who was smarter and bigger than them who understood his advantages and exploited those. They had to get past his length, defense, offense, IQ and then after all of that his granite chin.
Almost 10 pages of denial.
We all know Marquez was never going to beat Mayweather. He even acknowledged that Mayweather won... There was no need to ask for a rematch.
Of course, the TS is probably stupid and he doesn't know it.
Assuming Marquez demanded a rematch, would Floyd have said yes?
Jmm is easy work.....jmm knew he was easy work.... Jmm is a great fighter but floyd is greater. Jmm could've fought floyd if he would've made enough noise.
Of course, the TS is probably stupid and he doesn't know it.

TS is a Floyd fan first and a boxing fan a distant second but everything that's boxing related goes back to Floyd for him. Can't discuss the sport intelligently or in a matture manner so starts threads like this for what reason I don't know. Larry, j.razor, Robbie etc; are all the same. They should have their own forum.
Mayweather is always the A side and he decides who he will fight. Marquez can't just demand a fight with Mayweather and therefor get a fight with Mayweather. Mayweather beat him so easily that even if Marquez improved on his performance of the first fight he would still just get outpointed and put another loss on his record. Mayweather was a full welterweight while Marquez and Pacquiao were never more than big lightweights at most even if they did fight at 147.

It was a style thing. He just can't beat Mayweather, even as bulked up as he was. He was slower vs Pac when he KO'ed him, but more accurate and more powerful. That wouldn't have mattered vs Floyd, he wouldn't have been as accurate.
He is objectively the best of thus era.....shouldn't even be debated. Every historian and person with a brain agrees.
Your statement is objectivity false.
