Lomachenko will most likely fight Beltran for the WBO vacant Lightweight title. This fight makes sense since both are with Top Rank.
Beltran is currently the WBO #1 Lightweight contender and Loma is the WBO Super Featherweight champion moving up for the WBO Lightweight title. Makes sense?
Is this true? I've seriously missed a lot of news the past few days that I've been away. WTF happened to Mikey Garcia/Linares? These three need to fight each other.
I think he is making more money fighting Lipinets.
I think the Lipinets fight will be solid but I was trying to point out more about how Mikey was trying to call out Linares, only to say never mind afterwards.
Then that makes sense. I wasn't being disagreeable.
I agree with most of your post except the Lipinets fight. As a boxing fan, I'd rather see this fight than Linares. I think this will be more competitive. But, I hear you, Mikey's got a big ego.
Is he making more money with Lipinets than he would have with Linares? I wouldn't think so. So I don't know the reasoning behind that.

He's still in his 20s and has 11 pro fights, no real padding, just broke/humiliated one of the most hyped boxers of the past 5 years.
This is why most fighters **** around until their 40th birthday. Keep those expectations low then cash out.
Loma did it backwards & every "normal" fight they announce will be greeted with moans and disappointment...
Any source on this?
Seems unlikely to me & doesn't Beltran got a fight lined up?
Berchelt gots a fight off HBO coming up iirc so it seems like if he's doing fights off HBO that he could do something with TR/ESPN so I'd like to see the 1 vs 2 guy at 130 fight. I'm rooting on that fight happening.
I'd like to see Loma stick around 130 a lil longer. I wouldn't even hate seeing Loma fight Gamboa (even if I felt he lost to Sosa) as that'd be a good name to add to the resume while waiting on Tank to get a title back & some seasoning.
Beltran is fighing Paulus Moses next month. This thread is nonsense.
You said it yourself. Rigo jumped from 122. He dared the challenge even though it seemed to be just for the paycheck. And those that are willing to fight are called bums after. Who at 130 is willing to fight Loma that these forums would not call a bum?Everyone called Rigo a bum for doing what Loma won't do - move up and fight the best.
The best isn't even in his weight class. By the best I mean the best fighters overall, not just at your weight.
You aren't great until you do great things.
So who should Loma fight? The top at 130 are running. He will move up to 135 soom, but just because he’s so good doesn’t mean he should move up right away. And to all those who talk olympics and amateur weights, those are same day weights a few hours before the fight, not 30-40 hour with rehydration. That is where he is comfortable at and each fighter should fight at his best. Not Loma’s fault the division are a bunch of hoes when it comes to facing him.If there is no one for you to fight, you move up. It's that simple.
Ward was #1 or #2 p4p, everyone at 168 ran from him (Well technically he beat them all actually.) What did he do? He went up to 175 and beat the guy boogeyman everyone was running from in that division back to back by decision and then knockout.
I'm putting Loma there because that's where everyone puts him. #1 or #2 p4p. When you are there - you fight the best at either your division, the division below you, or the division above you. But you face the best. You wanna be great and be considered great - you do great things.
Golovkin is up there in the p4p rn #1 or #2. He fought Jacobs then he fought Canelo. That's why he's up there. He fought the best. Even though I personally think Jacobs beat him, and Canelo beat him, they were both great fights that could have gone either way - at the end of the day he fought them.
Roman Martinez and Jason Sosa aren't fights you fight to put you #1 p4p. If those are the only fights you can get at your weight classes, then you move up and fight the best guy there instead.
This only applies to #1 and #2 p4p. You are held to that standard, you wanna be great and be considered great - do what the greats did.
I don't think Arum wants it (at this time anyway), but Mikey never does himself any favours by pricing himself out. He just dropped a Linares fight to fight Sergey Lipinets and wanted a Cotto fight but expects GBP to lose money doing so.

Thank you.
I don't think he's #1 P4P, but your point is valid.
Can't even bring myself to consider any other fight than Mikey.
They are wasting this guy's prime.

I don't know about next but it'll probably happen this year.
Beltran fighting in Feb for the title and assuming he wins, I expdct Loma to fight him in June. That means Loma might get a tune up at 135. Then if Loma wins a tune up in March and against Beltran (assuming he wins) in June, I can see the Mikey or Linares fight in the fall. That's a solid schedule if it happens.
Mikey and Linares have fights in January anyway and probably will fight each other before the winner fights Loma anyway.

If he fights Beltran I'm sure it'll be at 135. Ah the old "everyone's scared of him" excuse. Even tho a 122 pounder just jumped to fight him lol
Why do you guys act like no one wants to fight loma and gg?
The #1 pound for pound fighter in the world should not be fighting Raymundo Beltran.
Carlos Baldomir and Artuto Gatti were more credible opponent and posed more of a threat for Mayweather then Beltran does for Loma lmfao.
Yes, I hold Loma to that standard and put him up there, because he is the best in boxing right now. If you are the best, you are treated like the best and held to a standard like the best. It doesn't only apply to the fighters you fake a*s fans hate.
Loma the #1 p4p fighter in the world fighting Raymundo Beltran next looooooooooooooooooool. Oh man.
Thank you.

He's moving up for the second time in one year, what would be the problem? Does he need to fight Mikey Garcia right away? The #1 pound for pound fighter in the world should not be fighting Raymundo Beltran.

You are utterly retarded. Mikey is already a big change because of size alone.
But Crawford?? Crawford belongs to 147. Loma belongs to 130. He's moving up chasing fights, not because he can't make weight.
You are super stupid.
Why the insult, Maxi? Can't you discuss boxing without being childish and emotional?:boxing:
He's at 130. 140 is two divisions up. There's a recent history of lesser boxers doing that. Are you afraid for him that he'd lose?
I suggested Crawford because both are P4P and are also with Arum. Fighting Mikey at 135 or 140 is good too. Who else is he gonna fight?
Great fighters do great things.
Oh idk Vargas berchelt?
It's time to hold the alledged pfp number 1 to higher standards than ray Beltran. But it's your typical bottom rank in house fight
Doesn't look like Loma is in Berchelt's plans, he wants a tune up then fight Roman so who should Loma fight at 130? Tank doesn't want it and for the rest of the 130lbers are they better then Beltran who probably KO's a good amount of them out?
They should send Davis and Floyd an offer, officially in the media, and see what comes back. We can't just sit here and speculate. Loma is the guy lauded as P4P #1, not by me, and he's THE champion at 130. Send the offer, embarrass them publicly, and see what comes back.
that was already accomplished. go on tanks social media pages everybody calling him a duck. everytime hes asked about loma floyd jumps in and answers the question. that boy scared like a hoe. tank has a big mouth and talks alot of sht on instagram yet has never uttered a word about loma. duck sauce. hes ranked in the top five and used to have a belt so miss me with that "too young" sht. that boy is a hoe until proven otherwise.
