What gym in this world teaches boxers to sit and trade? If you go to a gym like that then you need to find a new one because they just want to use you as entertainment..
Believe it or not, but the purpose of professional boxing is solely to entertain people. If people aren't entertained, the sport doesn't exist.
The vast majority of people that go to a boxing match want to see war. VAST majority.
I wouldn't say SOLELY but it is one of the main attractions, or else it just wouldnt have a fanbase. To give an example to what you said though, I thought Fury vs Klitchko was boring as all hell, awkward looking match. I understand what Fury was doing, and Vlad was confused, but it just looked awful to the point i thought Vlad was COMPLETELY finished until he had an entertaining outing with Joshua.
Low IQ
There are certain reasons you have sluggers ... 1 . They don't have the skill/ring IQ 2 . Endurance gas out quick ( AJ , Canelo ) 3 . Punching Power guys fall in love with the one shot 4 . Nationality obvious Latins ( mostly Mexican s ) some are HOF ... Love when you get a great boxer and slugger . Let's compare 2 fights BJS vs DL and GGG vs Canelo .. Even though I consider Canelo a puncher then boxer first I used him here due to the match he fought ... DL was terrible and outclassed .. Canelo set traps fought of the ropes also fought in the center of the ring .. DL was either so outclassed or he is just that terrible !! GGG also was very slow and didn't go to the body at all scared to get counter .. I had the fight a draw to ..
You do have a point doe, we all think differently but I don't see how I will be paying $59 to watch Floyd fight Guerrero, hoping he will lose a guaranteed win fight. That fight did 800k plus in PPV sales.
Same way I want to see Stevenson lose, I haven't watched his fight in a while expect it's against someone with a very good chance of winning - and his fights are free. I will be watching the Jack fight doe cuz I am a fan of Jack.
Missed GGG Wade and watched it weeks later without even having an issue. Same goes for Canelo Smith, Canelo Chavez who was drained to zombie levels and I'm a fan of Canelo.
Well, we all react differently to our emotions.
You might not be part of that demographiic that will though. You can't say one thing is true or not because you don't subscribe to it. You're not everybody.
The majority of the **** threads are started by Floyd fans and threads for pointless reasons with a clear angle are often derailed by Floyd fans and it's the same with social media. There's Pacquaio fans too and they are ignorant as well but at least they aren't quite so defensive to start that many garbage threads or derail threads about fighters like Lomachenko or GGG or other fighters. You just need to read thread titles to already figure out what and whom the thread is really about. Larry is about as bad as it gets but he has a number that are hot on his heels.
Not true. You can look at the 1st page of this forum right now. Most of the Floyd fans are not here anymore or post infrequently. As for social media, most of the fans are not floyd fans. Just because someone doesn't like Loma or GGG or criticizes them doesn't make them a Floyd fan.
What is going on is you falsely assume any criticism of Loma or GGG is done by a Floyd fan.
don't assume someone is a Floyd fan just because you read a post where they don't act like Loma or GGG are great.
Please dude, your agenda is clear. You don't like Floyd so you are trying to make his fans responsible for all the negativity when its guys like you doing crap like this that is the primary cause of all the garbage.
Clearly yet another lie, because if you "know the sport well" then you know that trading shots comes with the territory.
Trading shots is a choice 90 percent of the time. This thread is clearly about fans who wants boxers to play rock em sock em robots the entire fight
No, one person posted this. You have not seen the majority of Floyd fans on this site do this. you also haven't seen the majority of floyd fans on social media do this either. There have more than likely been a couple and you, as usual, are over exaggerating to fit your agenda.
If you disagree with this poster's opinion, fine. It's cool if you don't like Floyd. No need to over exaggerate based on the opinion of a single poster.

It's fun to watch. Why is this so hard to understand? It's a spectator sport and spectators like to watch fighters trade.
There are more technically proficient singers and dancers in the world yet people like watching Beyonce. Just because you are taught to do something one way, doesn't mean it will be the most appealing. That is a perfect response. Agree 100%
Been involved in boxing since I was 12, Boxed as an amateur... Wasn't the greatest in the world but I know the sport well

Except it's not one fan. It's the majority that I see on here and social media.

Once again you take the opinion of one Floyd fan and then post "... most Mayweather fans have gone so far away from being fans of boxing just to defend him." This is a lie plain and simple.
Why do guys like you constantly do things like this? I get you don't like Floyd, but to continually assign one fan's opinion to all his fans shows you have an agenda. Stop trying to paint all his fans with a broad brush, especially when you complain when people lump you into a group.
You are as bad as the posters you make things up about.

It's true, they pay to see him lose. It's not ridiculous, it's modern marketing. Started with Georgous George, taken by Muhammed Ali. Howard Stern implemented it, Mike Tyson implemented it, Floyd most recently.
It's a psychological phenomenon tied to the survival of the fittest. It's in our nature to hate as an early line of defense against predators. This is a very complex issue and naturally there is more to it, but that is the baseline.

It's funny how most Mayweather fans have gone so far away from being fans of boxing just to defend him to the point they say they don't like any fight that's not involving Mayweather or a fight with contact. They have sold out for one fighter and are just sticking around waiting out this generation for pure hatred and disdain for the fighters the public has seemed to embrace.
What would you rather watch - two fighters hugging all night or two fighters fighting very defensive and cautiously or two skilled fighters showing complete skill sets and mixing in exchanges?
Just a sampling of my personal preference for fighters in history who's styles I enjoy the most are as follows - Juan Manuel Marquez, Salvador Sanchez, Jose Napoles, Ruben Olivares, Alexis Arguello, Marvin Hagler, James Toney, Eder Jofre, Rafael Marquez, Wilfredo Gomez. All skilled boxers who could bang and mix it up. Would box your brains out and the more they landed they'd get more aggressive and were never afraid of firing back and getting into exchanges. Felix Trinidad also a personal favorite and a joy to watch. A skillful home runner hit albeit a tad one-dimensional but far from a bar room brawler.

Every fighter, at some stage, has to trade shots. The fact you have never boxed is clearly shown in this bizarrely stupid thread of yours.
Been involved in boxing since I was 12, Boxed as an amateur... Wasn't the greatest in the world but I know the sport well
People want to see him lose so bad that they are willing to cough up $79 or so to watch it live.
That is a ridiculous reason cuz they can simply just check the headlines a few hours later. Don't have to watch it especially when it's not even free.
They watched cuz they wanted to watch, they just couldn't afford to miss it. We all miss fights even free ones but rarely ever Floyd's and we have to pay for it.

One thing you need to understand Larry is this: many Boxing fans aren't really Boxing fans but moreso fans of violence.
These people don't like Boxing, they're just here for the agony of defeat.
Words to live by.
Someone has Gatti vs Ward as their sig/av --- ignore them.

if u read up on the kronk gym you'll see thats all they did there... beat each other to a pulp. it was bloody it was nonstop wars. thats what gave that gym that famed reputation. but wars doesn't necessarily mean unskilled. if you want to see unskilled watch backyard boxing on youtube. gatti vs ward was a war but was highly skilled. now lets say I had a son who was a boxer I would want him to be more like floyd, ward, lara, rigo, saunders, canelo or lomachenko. absorb the least punishment. but strictly as a fan watching I enjoy wars. and even those boxers I just listed have been involved in wars so you cant expect every fight to be a spotless masterpiece. floyd vs corley, augustus, castillo1, maidana1, n'dou, chavez and hatton were all "wars" in my book.
and I understand why the average fan prefers a war over anything else. lets say you had a friend over who never watched boxing which fight would you play for him, choose one:
rigondeaux vs agbeko
winky wright vs jermain taylor
even though rigo pitched a shutout and it was a technically brilliant your friend is likely to fall asleep. but winky vs taylor will have him begging to see more boxing fights in the future guaranteed.
the key to understand is that wars doesn't mean unskilled. de la hoya vs quartey was a brutal war but are you gonna call those guys unskilled? doubt it.
in championship level fights it usually indicates that fighters are accurate punchers and evenly matched, and willing to engage and confident in their ability to take punishment and in their power.
yeah, sometimes you have lower skilled guys who trade shots, but usualyl that's really not the case. they don't have that kind of accuracy, the stamina, or the chins.
so yeah, god forbid a boxing fan appreciates evenly matched, accurate punchers, and a fight that produces action.
larry, floyd retired. he's gone. stop letting him run your life. you know damn well you enjoy watching this. just shut the f#ck up already and be a boxing fan.
terrible fight. all they did was punch each other. how dare they not appeal to floyd mayeather's idea of sensibility?!? where was da slickness!!? i want to see erislandy lara hiding and circling away all night because his skin is darker than cooper's. way darker than moorer. is he even black? :lol1:
