List the fights where a fighter lost and had to change their lives..I will start
Ward-Kovalev 2
Kovalev said he had to stop drinking, changed trainers, his diet and went and stayed with Monks..
post some more!!
Mayweather actually having a tough year in 2007 made him retire, come back and not fight a top, near prime opponent for years.
Actually, almost losing to Castillo made him avoid top fighters in 3 divisions lol
Mawyeather and the fear of margarito forced him to retire. In hindsight was a smart move but still he had to bitch out to save his life but he used to it *cough* jprince *cough*
james prince dont take no credit.
that dude should be in jail already

Probably had to have ball repair surgery too.
hmmm i see you aren't being realistic and are in full floyd love mode. floyd killed the fight. 40 million flat offer ring a bell? you always ignore that one...you simply cannot defend that duck. and that was a prime pac.
p4p is an opinion system. it also doesnt tell you if a fighter is prime or not so im not sure why you are deflcting with these same tired arguments. what prime greats did he beat? just name them. 39 year old mosley right? ok i disagree. who else?
once again i ask you to tell me the prime greats he beat and you can't come up with a single one. how can you be a great fighter without any great wins? are you a great baseball player if you are the minor league homerun champ? i think not. this is the pros and he never faced the best when it mattered. you are right there arent that many greats around but he managed to stear clear of them and now he has to pay the price when it comes to breaking down his career. there are no fantasy sympathy points for guys who never fought greats. does calzaghe have the 2nd best reumse of his era? lmao " Pay the price when breaking down his career " ? To who ? Online Fanboys like you who refuse to acknowledge Floyd was the Best of his Era and would rather pick apart his career to find an excuse for your hating ?
The obvious one is George Foreman's loss to Ali. He retired and found God, but his fighting style changed too. He wasn't as nervous and restless in the ring as he was before and more methodical and patient.
Yeah, I was expecting this to be the first one that people mentioned.
Sadly, instead the thread went into tard-mode almost immediately.

Pacquiao-JMM 4. Pacquiao had to stop the roids, cherry pick even easier fights and finally fight Mayweather because he knew he was finished as a major draw.
:usa2: LOL
If only floyd did not start cherry pick his opponents after the castillo fight he probably has a chance to get the 2000-2009 FIGHTER OF THE DECADE award that he dreamed of.
well you are completely ignoring how he ducked margarito before. he fought sharmba for 3 instead of 7 for margarito. took less to fight judah as well so lets not pretend he was seeking the biggest money fights.
i dont know what the hoya-floyd rematch has to do with floyd ducking marg? he didnt' want to fight hoya in a rematch, marg, or cotto. thats the whole point. he barely beat hoya in the first fight if you dont remember.
i think you are getting the time line wrong. mosley beat marg in january of 2009. floyd didnt announce his comeback until may of 2009. yes he fought a 39 year old mosley instead of margarito. its called styles. marg is a high volume pressure fighter. mosley is an old guy who held the entire marg fight and marg kept walking into his power. different fighters.
he was never considering renewing with top rank. he deliberately priced himself out in order to leave. remember he wanted a 20 million guarantee to fight hoya. obv that was insanity. floyd only got a 10 million guarantee when he actaully fought hoya later to prove how insane that was. he wanted to leave so he asked for the impossible. not sure why you think he was trying to fight cotto when he made impossible demands.
It is beyond stupid to claim that floyd ducked Margarito, for any conceviable time, or reason. Margarito was a flash in the pan, tough fight, with no return of investment. There was little money in this fight, it was going to be bruising winning or losing, and margarito was never even a level below floyd, more like a few levels below.
You and every idiot who thinks Floyd ducked Margarito should tell us about all the heavy weights that ducked Tex Cobb... Floyd beat Gatti who was better than marg and generated a great gate.
Again, makes no sense. He was already set to rematch De La Hoya at the time that he retired, so I don't know how that equates to ducking someone. You are saying that he knew Mosley was going to Obliterate Margarito? Then he fights the guy who obliterated Margarito his next fight? Makes no sense.
He didn't retire to avoid Cotto. In fact, he was considering renewing with Top Rank if they would guarantee him Cotto in the contract.

i dont know what the hoya-floyd rematch has to do with floyd ducking marg? he wasnt willing to fight hoya in a rematch, marg, or cotto. thats the whole point. he barely beat hoya in the first fight if you dont remember. there were no good cherry picks so he retired only to return when better cherries presented themselves in the form of an old little marquez and an old faded mosley among others.

Trying to convince himself that he was injured? The corner mentions the injury after the very first round. It's all on videotape.
And you mention pac/floyd ducking, but the evidence seems to point to Pac's side ducking it more than Floyd's side. Sorry, bro. Just not agreeing with you here. I could be wrong, but aren't you one of the posters who always says that he will avoid such and such fighter and then when he chooses them you pick him to lose? I could be wrong, but just trying to figure out what your angle is here. Seems you're coming at this from a warped angle.
He's a worthless troll. I mean look at what he's arguing lmao. He is not even on topic lol...
What's up with the weirdo answers, lmao. I mean guys are using Margarito and Castillo for odd reasons lmao. Pac and Margarito got their dicks knocked in a few times but these clowns feel compelled to make phony comments out of anger lmao.
It was a very productive loss. The tom foolery that went on in that ring that night was ridiculous though.
That's pro boxing though.
It was very productive. Can you imagine if that didn't happen until say... now? It would be a crushing loss. Good that he went through it early.
This makes no sense. Mayweather retired after his 5/2007 fight with De La Hoya. He was in negotiations for a rematch after that.
In June 2007, Margarito lost to PWill. It would have been easy to sidestep Margarito without retiring.
did margarito disappear off the face of the earth after losing one fight? typical floyd fanboy logic. marg was still around and he proved that by becoming the #1 welterweight after losing. he also retired to avoid cotto who was the main guy at the time. just bad style match ups for him. if they had counter punching styles like marquez or canelo maybe he stays. we learned from floyd sometimes its the fights you dont take that end up helping your career. obv this is cowardly but hey it worked
