Anthony Joshua vs Parker a done deal

JP has to somehow make AJ throw more than he wants, and try and let him punch himself out, problem is, if he lets AJ unload the reff is going to jump in and like we saw with takam....it doesnt even matter if they land or not. Kevin barry is a terrible trainer and i doubt he comes up with a gameplan that works, i guess JP just has to wing it and hope for the best? That's basically my feeling too. I really don't know what Parker brings to the table to give Joshua big problems. He seems tough but that might work against him, as you said, if AJ lands flurry, the ref waves it off. I think you're right though, his best shot really would be to try and let Joshua get tired without getting stopped. or at least not be afraid to let it hands go and try to land something to take the wind out of AJ's sails, which we've seen can be done. I don't think he's talented enough or has the corner to implement some great game plan. If he thinks he can come and nick a decision, then he stands no chance.

I personally don't think it will take a special elite fighter to stop AJ. Just the right fighter on the right night. He cant win on points though, Winning on points V AJ is like trying to get a decision agaisnt Cucknelo. JP has to knock him out. Yeah, The Sun don't really care about printing the truth but i'd say the signs point to this fight being made anyway. Browne was obviously a back up plan for Parker if the AJ fight wasn't happening but now Whyte has confirmed he's fighting Browne, i'd say it's a strong sign that AJ v Parker is basically a done deal. Joshua is a crossover star, they will wait until all the madness of Christmas and new year is over before they announce it and get everyones attention.

It goes the other way too. GGG would have been criticized by the same people who defended Wilder. Why would anyone criticize Golovkin for not fighting someone who failed a drug test? Why does Wilder need to be defended? He has every right to pull out of a fight if his opponent has a positive drug test. If you're saying it's suspicious that multiple opponents tests positive for banned substances you might have a point. However, this shouldn't be negative towards Wilder because he didn't do anything wrong in these cases.

I wouldn't believe anything the scum newspaper prints. When it is official though I think it could be a tough night for AJ and it could be his first points victory.

A blood pressure pill and the WBC who allowed Nery to keep a title after steroids and Vargas to fight Salido for "contaminated meat". Anyway point still stands. Wilder has the weakest resume of any title holder in boxing. Wilder's resume is weak, I do not deny that. But it just seems silly to put that entirely on him as if he is not making fights that people want. There was a LOT of clamor for Povetkin-Wilder and Ortiz-Wilder at the times he put the fight together. It's not Wilder's responsibility to also make sure they clear the drug protocol agreed upon by both fighters. Now if Wilder was being rated P4P #1 or being compared to the greatest fighters of all time, I would bring up his resume in attacking that argument. In fact I clowned on ESPN for putting him at #10 which is ridiculous. That's much like how I did the same thing when GGG was being hailed as a great fighter before his fights with Jacobs and Canelo when his resume was fairly thin relative to his standing. So if Jacobs and Canelo had tested positive, I wouldn't have made fun of him for not making good fights as that wouldn't be his fault but I couldn't have put him in the top few P4P either. THAT is the way a consistent, fair fan would handle the situations imo. Blaming Wilder for Ortiz and Povetkin on the other hand is crazy.

Think it just comes down to Cardiff having a roof again 100% in Cardiff for that reason. Has there ever been an outdoor boxing event in January, February, March in Britain? Never expected them to do Cardiff twice in a row but it's possible. It seems the easier option if they want a stadium for it. Wembley is available March 31st as Tottenham are away to Chelsea. Spurs are using Wembley this season but not sure they would be keen on a boxing match taking places on the pitch in the middle of the season but who knows. Wembley is only 10k more in capacity to they could sell it out. Unless they just do a big indoor arena fight again rather than stadium, but at this point it's hard to imagine them doing 50k less tickets if they don't need to.
