Most people haven't a clue what it even means, Stone Temple Pilots and their lead singer Scott Weiland originally wanted to call the band Shirley Temple's Puzzy, the record executives obviously vetoed it and refused a contract unless they changed it, they retained the STP. The original words were to fit a logo they liked upon their formation I think that's how the Shirley idea surfaced to fit the three letters on the logo. Call it loyalty, I call it a nod to one of my favourite bands too. Truth be told I'm a bigger Velvet Revolver fan, their music is my favourite probably a bigger fan of them than GnR, Im not a big fan of all the ballad like November Rain and Don't Cry, but I guess they gotta sell in the charts. Oh, I didn't get it either, lol. But yeah, STP is/was a sick band. I have their hits cd.
