Will we ever see a white American boxing champ?
I'm not talking Italian (Marciano), Slovenian (Pavlik) or other white "Americans" who are children of immigrant parents, basically Europeans.
I'm talking about a truly homegrown white champion. In MMA, a few white Americans have done well, such as Matt Hughes and Chris Weidman (those are what I truly call white Americans).
Butterbean certainly counts as a white American too.
The problem with boxing as a sport is it attracts the financially desperate--Just the way it is.
That's why you see success from Eastern Euros coming from poor former soviet block states, boxing as a way out. Boxing gyms in the U.S. are almost always in poor neighborhoods, this is similar in all of Europe.
White americans simply play other sports. And yes, wrestling and MMA have a higher participation rate with white americans, which is due to wrestling
Per capita though, based of particiation rate, Europeans perform better than any other race in boxing. A lot more latinos and blacks go out for the sport in general.
Hmm, you must be talking about a native american man with white skin? Because if not, hate to break it to you, but white people are always going to trace their roots back to Europe regardless. So, yeah, Pavlik, Marciano, LaMotta, etc. Certainly count as whiteboy champs
😂😂😂😂😂 what a stupid thread
I thought Trey Lippe Morrison might progress but he hasn't fought in the whole of 2017, a year in which i expected him to start making some noise and beating some Top 100 guys.
