I sometimes hear of people mentioning this, just not so far on this site. Anyone here believe Mayweather lost?
I went to a sports bar when it happened, and it was PACKED, mostly of Asian people, including a friend I went with. The place had like 2 people going for Mayweather, so naturally when Pacquiao did something everyone would roar.
They didn't roar much at all, and by the end of the fight (and throughout the fight) they had a defeated look on their face - they knew their guy had lost. Fast forward to the next day and my 'friend' as well as his mostly Asian friends online were adamant that Manny was robbed - how can you take these people seriously?
It kind of takes away from legitimate complaints of robberies in boxing. So not to judge anyone, but does anyone on here think Manny won, and explain why they think he won?
pac landed the much cleaner flusher punches and floyds punches were barely making solid contact. it was slow, it was dull, but why does floyd auto win that way? you still hae to score who did better in a slow, dull fight and that was not floyd. the reputations decided the fight. pac didnt look amazing and floyd looked boring as usual and that was that. pac just had super high standards he coudlnt meet and floyd met his usual low standards. then of course there is the political angle and vegas will never ever let floyd lose a fight with the money he brings.
When I watched the fight I was surprised that Mayweather looked like he had slowed down plus he missed a lot of punches. The announcers were calling punches as scoring but they didn't land. Too bad there was no rematch. I think it would have been a lot better.

I believe Mayweather lost to Pacquiao. There's a couple of other guys but we're in the minority.
Well yeah, we all know what Floyd does and that's what he did. You knew what to expect from Floyd in terms of his game plan.
Maybe "fault" isn't the right world but Manny and his team promised a lot and delivered on nothing. Floyd just had a routine performance. Anyone that bought the fight and was upset by how dull it was shouldn't be pointing the finger at Floyd because he was himself, you know what you're paying for, so don't complain.
They we're basically mad because Manny couldn't back it up and just looked like another Floyd opponent that couldn't do much to him. So yeah, he didn't deliver his end of the bargain. Floyd did by being himself.
Who cares? Floyd won handily. Let the sore vaginas whine about who made it dull or how “close” it was.
its not so much about his game plan. you put the blame all on manny, so if manny couldnt do shiiet, why didnt floyd close out the show then?
and floyds team didnt??? floyd said he was gonna knock pac out. sr and roger both said floyd is gonna stop pac! floyd before the fight, said its time to go to war! but according to you, it was only team pac that was hyping this fight up???
lol don't even bother. another alt
the fact that you said you went to a bar filled with asian people is a lie already LOL... that's like me saying i went to the library and it was filled with black people.
lol yea I had the same thought. troll thread from an alt. must be a slow Tuesday at work for him.
Manny didn't win, but Floyd also didn't hurt him or make it an exciting fight. Floyd ran from a one armed midget who is washed up. Floyd's own dad was telling him to stop fighting scared. Sr looked like he wanted to punch his son.
After all that talk about how Floyd was going to knock him out, he did the total opposite against a guy who already pretty much got decapitated. Plus Floyd had his special IV's to mask his steroids.
In the end, 6-6.
yeah, and manny was called easy work, easy money.
but it was only manny's fault that the fight was dull right...........

bu bu but floyd let conor punch him in the face on purpose.
floyd fought that way to please the fans since floyd was ahead on the score cards.
What's this got to do with anything?
We're discussing a fight between the two best of their era and ATG's, not a fight between an ATG boxer and a guy that never boxed.
Whatever happened in those fights have no relevance to each other.
they know deep down inside it was wack, reason why they dont talk about that fight much (poor performance, floyd using IV, hiring ariza). if floyd would have marquez'd manny, they would still be talking about it til this day.
yeah it was a dismal performance even by floyd standards
it was a very poor performance from pacquiao, kept expecting him to make adjustments and try something different but it never happened. Saying that floyds tactics were unbelievably negative that night. Noone really came out of it with that much credit.
It's hard to change up or throw shots with a torn rotator cuff
I had it 9-3 for Floyd.
Apart from a few moments, it really was pretty routine for Floyd.
It was dull but that's Manny's fault. Floyd just did what he usually did late on in his career. Not Floyd's fault that Manny couldn't change that.
I agree. I had it 8-4 Floyd but it was no blowout by any means. Floyd basically did no damage at all and Manny was hurt from rd. 4 on

:lol1::lol1:
I take it you did not do much reading of the forum after the May-Pac fight.
There were several posters who wrote dozens of posts per day for several months defending Pacquiao's performance from criticism - blaming his age, blaming the 15 to 20 clinches, blaming his rotator cuff, blaming Bayless etc etc. Even though many of those posters, in the same master thread on the topic, voted for Pac and posted that they fully expected Pacman to win.
The May-Pac master thread was so active afterwards that it remained stickied for at least a year afterwards IIRC.
So no, the Rigo-Loma situation doesn't come even close. Comparatively, you have a few salty haters which comes with the territory of being an elite fighter.
I wasn't reading the board too much around then. However, Pacquaio is such a huge name naturally he'll have rabid fans that are just as retarded as Mayweather fans.
Lomachenko-Rigo was a fight for boxing fans and two lesser known fighters (so less nutty fans) yet still the idiots felt inclined to get involved and make outlandish picks and stupid post-fight excuses.
For what it's worth I don't think either are great wins as like I said I didn't think Rigo was this god of boxing they claimed him to be and knew Loma would dominate and I knew Pacquaio was washed up but it was a fairly close fight or at least competitive fight.
