Golovkin would destroy me and you in the same night
Let's not bullsh*t around here. BJS has avoided GGG all this time and still knows, even with Golovkin getting old, he has no chance. A post victory sh*t talking high won't change reality.
Lets not forget he was 24 at the time, and a relative novice, he was just being honest. You can't compare 24 year old BJS to the one that fought the other night and who has since won a world title.
Billy right now is high on his horse understandably since he schooled and embarrassed Lemieux. Golovkin is not Lemieux. He will get to BJS and hurt him badly. No contest and deep down Saunders knows it.
What Saunders is forgetting now is that GGG not only won every round from Lemieux with ease he also knocked him out. Saunders never real hurt Lemieux and he won't school Canelo or GGG because they are much more skilled boxers than Lemieux.
I think BJS hurt Lemieux at one point in the 7th or 8th round.

I remember this and it is clear BJS has avoided him for quite some time but that doesnt negate the fact that he is a different fighter now than he was then. The difference being he can now go 12 rounds without blowing his gas tank and that must have added the belief he can beat GGG.

he said this when he was just heating up in the pros while golovkin was demolishing everyone nearer the top on the world stage of course he would think that
but it seems the gaps closing now golovkins getting up there in years and probably will have another war with canelo so BJS is looking like he could have a chance now
I'm ever got why people think this is a big deal
That was over 3 years ago when Saunders and Eubank were still domestic level fighters and neither had a World strap, neither had even faced a former World Champ
Gennady at that time the best and was the most avoided MW, For Eubank to even talk about fighting Gennady at that point was irrelevant
Saunders was more talking sh.it to Eubank about know what level your at and earn your position.
Since he got his strap, he said he'd be down to fight Gennady when it was right
And He signed on to fight him last Summer, he's ready
Exactly. When fighters front they get criticised, when they call a spade a spade they get criticised.
Even a young fighter with Olympic pedigree and confidence still won't know for sure how good they are until they start progressing through the levels. I think BJS now knows how good he can be, and it's not just about the weekend, I think it's the fights, camps, basically the experiences he's accumulated up to this point.
I personally feel he is a handful for all these guys, including Golovkin, who's an excellent fighter but his style in lots of ways is made for BJS.

I remember this too, however he has changed what he said at least 6 months a go. Yeah he wasn't ready then but he said he is now.
He is someone who says it like he feels it is, which doesn't always come across very well on some of his opinions mind you.
BJS also went on to talk mad shyt about GG for a year. Everyone knows he's not beating Golovkin. This isn't some secret. He deserves his chance to try though.
Spot on. Plus a proper unification is always welcome.
He isn't beating Canelo, Charlo, Andrade or Jacobs either.
