Loma/Rigo was a dream matchup but not at 130.
JMM had some big wins at WW
Rigo can't do sh*t at 130:lol1:
Be thankful Loma-Rigo took place this year. These two are still relevant. Not anybody's fault it didn't happen at 126 lbs.
Crybaby had zero wins above 135 lbs pre- the Money May bout. He was fat & slow.
I do give him credit for a great win over Marquez. He won every round by a mile over a skilled boxer-puncher. Floyd was bigger but he didn't use his size and strength to win that fight. He won with speed, skill, timing accuracy and ring smarts. He should have made the weight limit of 144 pounds though.
So what?
Picking Rigo to win doesn't lessen the risk of jumping TWO weight classes.
No, it shows that many wanted to see the fight and thought that Rigo would win.
How many people picked Marquez to beat Mayweather?.
How many people were calling for the fight?
Rigo took all the risks at 130 and Loma none.
What real fan wanted to see that?
All the fans saying they wanted to see that in the months previous.
Many picking Rigo to win, to expose him and to school him and even to KO Loma
Both are good wins. But Rigo had an aura of unmatchable greatness in skills -- at least at his weight. JMM was well-respected, but clearly past his prime and way outsized by Floyd's much larger frame.
JMM was outclassed by Floyd, but Rigo had his soul taken away by Loma, a result that was indeed very surprising considering the massive kudos he had enjoyed for taking all of his opponents into deep water and drowning them.
Floyd came out of his fake retirement to tango with a lightweight who, let's face it, was never as good as some people claim him to be. Could've and should've at least fought a guy like Mosley in '09 considering how hot he was after whooping Margarito's rear end. Beating Crybaby at 144 (came in at 146 at the official weigh in) was a joke.
Loma-Rigo, on the other hand, was a dream match for hardcore boxing fans. You've gotta love & know boxing to appreciate & really enjoy watching these two tango in the ring. Although, it became apparent after 2-3 rounds that Rigo had no business being in the same ring with Loma. Dude was still undefeated & looked unbeatable though last week.
Boxing fans wanted Rigo vs Loma at 126 a few years ago.
Nobody want that sh*t at 130.
Maybe you need to check the posts on here and on YouTube from 6 months ago.
Also check the posts from last week.
Remind us which fight sold over a million ppv's while the other was on basic cable
No boxing fans asked for the fight.
You like your unrelated points don't you.
He didn't make weight but it was a typically brilliant performance by Mayweather. I was disappointed when he didn't try and turn it up in the second round when he had Marquez hurt, but the rest of the fight showed how special he was.
According to some on here Mayweather didn't have ONE great win.
Pacquiao they said was passed his prime. Same for Cotto. Same for Mosley. Same for Oscar. And on and on and on.
Canelo was too green. Hatton was too small. Marquez was cheated on weight and dragged up 2 weight classes. He should have been disqualified against Judah. Corrales had jail on his mind. He lost to Castillo and Maidana and they fail to mention the rematches he won without any controversy. And Gatti, well he was just Gatti so according to them that don't count.
He ducked everyone else.
His PPV records are because of who he was fighting. He was boring and no one wanted to watch him. He lost money for Showtime. His fight with McGregor was a joke and no one wanted to see it.
I'm sure I'm missing some of his other shortcomings based on the people that don't like him but I'm sure I'll get a reminder.
weight did not win either fight...skills pay the bills
It lessens the credit.
And if we want to talk about skills.
Marquez was a counter puncher, and had to come out of his natural fighting style for Floyd. A terrible match up for him skill wise.
Loma came to rigo and threw punches. Something a counter puncher would want.
But as to your point, the main reason, is no one was asking for Marquez vs Mayweather.
Are they any posts exists previous to that fight going down?
Only thing was, Marquez never agreed to jump, Floyd cheated him
Rigo also put in a hydration clause into the contract. None for Floyd who also skipped the ring scales.

Oh god lol. Einstein huh.... Hahahahhahahaha. Move on with Floyd Einstein. He's retired and had a great career. He cheated JMM on the scale.. u forgot?
Why u so insecure abt Loma? Why u so insecure abt Floyd?
Calm down Einstein
Sounds like a lame excuse to be honest..Rigo and Jmm both jumped 2 divisions..but you only want to give one credit

Simple question..post and discuss
All of Floyd's wins from 2009 and up are great. He was always at some sort of disadvatage, layoffs, size, age, weight.
As far as comparing the two, Rigo is way better than JMM. While Loma wasnt at any disadvantage, he had a very great opponent in front of him. Floyd was at a disadvantage ad had an opponent who wasnt on that level.
Skill for Skill, Loma-Rigo was a pickem fight. While Floyd vs Jmm, probably was not.
Because you train to fight at a certain weight. When your opponent disrespects the sport and his opponent by ignoring that he has a significant advantage.
Floyd needed to do that against Marquez.
Loma never needed to do that against any of his opponents
Just one of the reason why It a top win for Loma and not for Floyd
Sounds like a lame excuse to be honest..Rigo and Jmm both jumped 2 divisions..but you only want to give one credit
JMM made more noise at 147 than Rigo can at 130 that's for damn sure.
Mentioning Memo...now that's reaching.
Loma might have his own Memo.:lol1:
And like I said it is irrelevant
