During the Rigo vs Loma fight one of the commentators said when he was discussing Loma's loss to Salido:
"and this is where Mayweather did a great disservice to boxing in placing too much emphasis on the 0, but Tim all great boxers of the past like Ali had losses"
For me he nailed it on the head in that boxers today are too overly concerned about a loss, the fans bought into it with their "40 and 0" mantra, berating a previously praised boxer for a loss, and becoming too fixated on records. Result: less great fights and trilogies like we had in the past, and the best avoiding or stalling fighting the best for years.
did you forget jeff horn is an active boxer? he has the same win that is floyds best win.
manny beat both horn and floyd. yes a prime hoya was a crafty boxer. that wasnt prime oscar in there. wasnt prime floyd in there either so it doesnt matter that much that pac outpointed him and landed the much cleaner punches in at least 7 rounds. he was never going to get the decision having good defense and sharp punches. people gave floyd that fight on reputation and nothing more. we can post the videos again if you like but it doesnt really matters since floyd wasnt prime in that fight. during his prime he was fighting guys like baldomir and judah. pac was fighting guys like barrera, morales, and marquez. he knew when to make the fights that would get him that shiny record and he tried to make up for it at the end with big old names.
:lol1: :lol1:
Mayweather help take Boxing to heights NOBODY THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE! Fans as well as the IDIOTS in the Media only make themselves look bad feeling that if they drag Mayweather Name that some how makes them more credible
Like him or not, the fact that you have family members who don't even follow boxing but knows the name "Mayweather" that is a testament to how masterful he was at marketing himself. We're watching fighters a this very moment in boxing trying hard and doing whatever to become bigger and more household names. Clearly it is not easy to do. I watched most of his career and I still can't figure out how he did it in a sport that the Casual Sports fan in America really don't give a **** about unless he is attached to it. Also did it without being a Gold Medal Winner wasn't suppose to be possible
It was Joe Tessitore the Play By Play announcer who said it by the way. It wasn't genuine, it was said in defense of Loma having a L on his Record which IMO makes him look STUPID!
Only Losers want to see other Lose like them!
I found it funny how for years many in the boxing media acted as if you were biased if you said things in support of Floyd Mayweather. Now we have Lomachenko who does many of the same things a young Mayweather used to do and they dick ride him like no fighter I have ever seen.

It wasn't Brian Kenny who said that, it was Joe Tessitore. But I have to agree with one of the previous commentators that it was retarded logic.
Every fighter wants to remain undefeated and they strive to do so. The problem is that not many are able to win every fight for a multitude of reasons. Some fighters underestimate their opponents and don't train properly like Tyson underestimating Douglas. Others fight way past their primes. Some have bad weight cuts that affect their performance. And sometimes the opponent is just better than you thought they were.

but you said Horn beat Manny......
That is such retarded logic lol.
Every boxer should strive to beat everybody and win at all costs. Floyd was a fierce competitor, not his fault nobody could snatch that undefeated streak off of him.

an appeal to authority and in a corrupt sport like boxing their authority doesnt mean much
I'm not going to go back and watch that fight, I don't have the time. But Floyd clearly won, he gave an immediate rematch and he won that decisively and easily as well. He is the superior fighter. 50-0
winning against who and when? he was the great con man of our time. the great pt barnum. step right up! a sucker born every minute to buy his ppvs
I guess he should've been fighting for charity or putting on exhibitions like the one we saw last night.
Do you think Jeff Horn beat Manny anyways?
and Delahoya has More craft than Manny did, and more craft than Manny ever will since Manny isn't really a crafty boxing guy.
Delahoya won more rounds than Manny did by the way.

Exactly, its time to pay more respect to TBE and SOG.
As a proud American I love supporting the best that America has to offer :usa2:
Unlike those fake unpatriotic americans who downplay our best talent and prefer foreigners, particularly eastern european boxers.
:unitedsta
Heil Hitl...er, sorry, got carried away!
don't think so. manny had good wins before and after the floyd lost and even landed the much cleaner punches against floyd while floyd struggled to land clean. manny had no chance on the cards of course but floyd knew that and thats why he agreed to fight the boxer version of pac and not the psycho cotto version of pac. oscar had zero craft left at that point in his career. size doesnt matter when you are shot.

omg a floyd fan who thinks he won every fight and floyd did no wrong. i've never ran across this in my entire life.
All that matters is what the judges think. 50-0. TBE
Pacquiao was more trash than Delahoya at that point in their careers. Delahoya had size and boxing ability and Floyd was smaller, even. Manny had zero chance

Mayweather did a disservice by to boxing by winning all the time.
It's almost as bad as people saying he win all his fights by running.

nah delahoya was trash. one win in what 4 years and it was mayorga. never did anything after losing to floyd. thats the problem with floyd. all his best wins are like that cept canelo but he should have just lost but hes a moneymaker so we know how that goes. floyd just doesnt have a great win on his resume unfortunately. so overrated. he does remind me of ottke
