That's a rough split but it tells you that Rigo had a hard time getting another well paying fight. If he could get a 122 or 126 fighter w/ that payday instead, he'd probably have taken that.
It also probably explains why Salido said TR didn't offer him enough. If TR knew they could make this fight and only have to pay Rigo's side 400k, they wouldn't be tempted to make a Salido rematch if he wanted much more than that.same thing will happen to salido. salido is going to feel stupid for turning down arum's first offer. it happened to walters it happened to rigo these fighters need to learn arum's first offer is as good as its going to get.
Rigo's on film saying he turned down higher money at a lower weight. Check YouTube. He said the fight was agreed and then he pulled out.
That wasn't Rigo, it was an IMPOSTER I tell you!!
Because it was obviously a real offer... Isn't it funny all the Loma opponents that turn down large purse to later accept lower offers? Its almost like the first offer was never actually made or something...
But we all know Bob Arum never lies about anything, ever.

He's also treated himself like dirt. He didn't have to turn down $750k at 126 and accept $400k at 130.

Watch out, you’ll make the fanboys pick up their pitchforks with statements like this!
The irony of one of the biggest fangirls on this site having the unmitigated gall to spew this drivel.
I just saw that that's pathetic. Loma getting 1.2 mil. Dude can't draw for shlt.
Remember the first time the fight didn't get made klimas didn't wanna say how much loma would get
That's stupid when some posters try to blame some fighters like Andre Ward or Lomachenko who can't draw for shit for being overpaid, it's not their fault their opponents getting peanuts and they were smart enough to get a good contract
That being said, Rigo deserves way bigger purse
Both guys are getting a little overpayed considering what they bring to the table. But it’s a tough sport so good for them. Plus, the fight did sell out at over 5k tickets. We have seen guys getting paid more for bringing less to the table before.
ok since you use that analysis do you agree that GGG ducked Ward then or no?
I'm not 100% sure. Abel Sanchez said GGG would fight anyone from 154-168, when GGG was a nobody with little opportunities. According to GGG, him and Ward sat down with HBO, and tried to work something out. Ward didn't wanna fight at the time, because he was recovering from an injury, and having some issue with his promoter. Then, Ward sent Loeffler a contract as GGG was trying to unify at 160, so that deal fell through. Last I heard about GGG vs Ward, GGG's team sent Ward an offer to fight at 164, which Ward turned down. I think both sides were a bit sus.
Rigo has been treated like dirt his entire damn career. This is some of the saddest **** I've ever seen.
He's also treated himself like dirt. He didn't have to turn down $750k at 126 and accept $400k at 130.
This is the time we live in. You become a super wealthy celebrity by having your mom leak your sex video, a bafoon with no boxing skills making $100 million from boxing, and a orange con man becomes president of the most powerful country in the world. Hype in todays world, beats substance.
I get what you’re saying, but the Salido rematch was personal for Loma, and Arum knew that. I’m sure Top Rank would have made a decent offer money-wise. Didn’t they make an offer for 750K, but Salido ducked?
Yeah something like that, over 700k. But my point isn't that Loma or TR ducked the fight, it's that Salido's asking price is too high (whatever it is) to expect that it will be accepted.
That's what happens when you make bad business decisions. Now he's gotta take the short end to get more in the long run.
This dude is like 70. There is no long run. He's trying to get a payday for the road.
