To this day I still love maidana for this azz-whupping he gave broner. One of my all-time favorite fights
Hopkins the legend absolutely schooling pavlik was amazing to watch as well.
Tate vs. Weaver is an awesome choice. Barkley knocking out Hearns for me. I thought Hearns was about to kill Iran Barkley. What a comeback taking everything he did to land his shot.
I never saw barkley-hearns i gotta check it out
even though ive met juan diaz and like him...watching nate campbell beat him was cool...and i made a ton of money off that....
and of course shane whooping margs butt....both nate and shane were 4-1 dogs and i had $300 each on em...made me some dough
Damn Margs getting destroyed was a good one too!
not sure if it was considered an upset but when Pavlik knocked out Jermain Taylor in their first fight.... it was a satisfying win like no other at the time given Taylor had this invincible aura about him and Pavlik was getting his ass whooped bad in the beginning of that fight too... I still go back to it once in a while to reminisce "AND WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION, AND HE'S FROM YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO"!!
One of the better Jim Lampley/Larry Merchant commentary duties as well
I was with the Stevie Cruz camp when he beat Barry McGuigan for the WBA 126 belt in 86. Stevie came on hella strong at the end and did what we knew he was capable of. (He actually was a replacement for Fernando Sosa.) That is one of my favorites.
Holyfield exposing Tyson, Maidana humbling AB was also awesome, and when Barrera beat Naz.
Also more low key upset’s; Collins taking Eubanks 0 and when Groves beat DeGale, DeGale was so c*cky in that pre fight build up whilst Groves just always maintained he had his number.
My logic was Broner is stationary, leaky defense and Maidana is so much bigger, stronger and better than anyone he faced.
But when I said that people called me crazy. After the Pauli fight I had no faith in Broner.
Agree though I didn't see him dominating.
Good call (if I do say so myself lol). I was never sold on Broner. “Chino” winning delighted me, but didn’t surprise me at all.
I just did some quick research on the odds that night. Looks like they were in the area of 4:1, Broner. It was definitely an upset, just not one that sticks in my memory (obviously lol).
Sugar Shane beating Margachetos ass, it was such a brutal beating with so many celebrity’s in the first rows.
And when Shane stopped him he took a bow, pure class and the perfect way to end the night
That's a good one. I am not going to even lie I thought Shane was going to get murked in that fight.
"Come on Shane, you got to swim without getting wet."
Naz.
I guess not. Lol I was in your camp. The way I remember it, it wasn’t so much that Maidana won, rather, the manner in which he won.

Massive upset at the time. Don't you remember?
I got lambasted for saying Maidana had a good chance.

Good fight, but not much of an upset in my book.
However, to answer your question, my favorite was — hands down — Tyson-Douglas. That was an amazing upset in every sense of the word.

Lloyd Honeyghan beating the hell out of Donald Curry was shocking.
Duran beating Leonard was my favorite upset. I didn't think Duran could pull it off. Someone mentioned Barkley beating Tommy. Shocking because Hearns is a favorite of mine.
Lewis getting stopped by Hasim Rahman another of my favorites getting starched. They are all memorable for different reasons
Gotta be holy knocking out tyson after battering him so thoroughly.
I still remember watching the BBC repeat as a kid and although I was a tyson fan I hated his bullying tactics and holy just came across as such a nice guy.
The utter thrashing tyson got was sweet.
Foreman knocking out Micheal Moore. Mike Weaver knocking out John Tate after losing 14 rounds
