Size has nothing to do with talents and skill levels. Size is always the key with fans who only know how to read a record for wins & looses. They can't actually evaluate a fighter regardless WHO he fights.
What punch does Froch deliver thats better than Golovkin?
How about movement, maybe consider body work?
Experience is always a contributor, how is Froch amateur back ground compared to GGG?
How about the gym work? Did Froch have better sparring in Britain over Calif. USA?
Bigger man?
The guy is 1 1/2" taller and might have 2-3" of reach. His jab stinks so there's no reach advantage when you "row the jab" back.
ok I'm done I like GGG because he comes to fight so does Froch but I like the more skilled guy and I don't like the "junior" & "super" weight classes when fighters compete for championships. To many weight classes for titles.

I thought the GGG madness would have stopped after he never got close to stopping Jacobs and Canelo in very close fights. But no it continues.
Froch could beat Golovkin either on the back foot or the front foot. He's bigger, stronger and has faster hands than Golovkin. He does have a good chin, so I don't think Froch would stop him. But I do think Froch would take a pretty wide decision.
P.S This is the worst thread I've ever seen on here (and that's saying something) some of the comments are flat out crazy in their extreme bull****. Too many to post to all. But hey, that's what you get with a forum full of loony's.
Froch arguably lost to Kessler in the rematch.
Kessler had the cleaner shots, and he made Froch miss all night.
I had it a clear UD for Froch, he completely dominated Kessler behind his jab, hurt him in the 2nd, 4th, 8th, 11th, and 12th rounds. Kessler hurt him once in the 11th before he himself got hurt. He won 4 rounds max.
I don't even care who would win because this would be my choice for a dream fight. GGG would definitely not KO froch and vice versa. It's a 12 round war that would have been remembered for a long time. 1 or 2 rounds in it, either way.
"Abraham, Johnson, Kessler"................big deal!
You people act like these are great talents. Their ordinary fighters.
Which one these men are HoF or ATG's?
Just because a current day fighter is in a top ten rating doesn't make them highly regarded talents.
"Bute had ggg take a standing count, that count allowed ggg to recover and get a KO himself."................huh?
So who got the Ko? hahaha you give credit for "almost" getting a win?
Bottom line is Jacobs and Canelo are consider the best Middleweights in BACK of GGG.
In my opinion GGG won both fights your welcomed to your opinions.
Froch is not in Golovkin's league, another fellow hiding in the "junior weight classes".
""he went the distance with a career JMW and a chinny MW"
career JMW who has been weighing over 170 for fights for years now! A "chinny" man who has been stopped ONCE
in 35 bouts.
"Jacobs stayed in front of ggg as well" ..........
yeah for all of 20% of the duration.
They both did well when they confronted GGG BUT they didn't stay there long enough to win.
You guys pick out segments of a round instead of evaluating the full three minutes of 12 rounds.
Froch has to make garbage statements every month or he would have been completely forgotten by now.
Ray
ggg is coming off 2 arguable losses where he went the distance with a career JMW and a chinny MW and now people think he can beat one of the greatest 168lbers of all time?
People also saying Froch can't box, seriously? If Froch couldn't box he wouldn't have out boxed Abraham, Johnson or Kessler in the rematch.
Even if ggg manages to knock him down his opponents all get up and put leather on his chin.
8 rounds to stop Lemieux after he got up
11 rounds to stop Murray
8 rounds to stop Stevens
7 rounds stop Rosado
6 rounds to stop Monroe

Here's a solid reason why Canelo and Jacobs didn't get stopped.
They RAN, they did not step in the bucket and fight! The reason is very simple why take that chance!
After a round they knew that there best chance was to keep GGG feet moving and chasing.
Canelo literally stayed on the ropes half the fight, that is not running. ggg refused to throw anything in fear of getting countered by a puncher that couldn't even put down zombie Chavez. The gifs, the videos, they all show Canelo landing clean counters while all ggg could do was throw those pitty pat jabs.
Jacobs stayed in front of ggg as well, his basic counter punching worked because ggg is so limited.
Froch can't box a lick and he would need to step to GGG and work him. I don't think he fares well doing that.
GGG has a great double jab and although he doesn't use as much as he should it would set up combos and Froch doesn't have the skills to counter that attack.
Froch can't box? He thoroughly out-boxed Abraham, Johnson, Kessler in the rematch and a host of others. He has a very powerful jab that would've knocked ggg's head off.
If anyone can't box it's ggg. He got his face busted up vs Brook and said he lost all the rounds. His fanboys think he beat Canelo simply because he came forward. He arguably lost to Daniel Jacobs of all people. Ouma also gave him absolute hell, that fight was dead even at the stoppage.
ggg has NEVER out boxed someone as good as prime Abraham let alone as thoroughly.
Heh, not the best example since Golovkin knocked Bute out in the World Championships when they were both amateurs.
Bute had ggg take a standing count, that count allowed ggg to recover and get a KO himself. In a pro fight there is no standing 8 and ggg would've been stopped or in far worse shape. Bute was arguably beating ggg at the time absolutely lighting him up.

I will say that Canelo has his chance the next time to step and take it to Golovkin! GGG does not have the same legs
and he doesn't move his head as often as he needs to when someone brings it.
Froch 6' 74" reach 168/180lbs.
GGG 5' 10" 70" reach 160/172lbs.

Froch consistently came to the ring between 172 - 174Lbs best I can recall. Despite seeming a physically imposing guy he was actually generally lighter than the guys he stepped in the ring with. He's one of the few fighters in recent times who stayed relatively close to the weight limits of his class.
Froch had bad footwork and bad defense, honestly he's tailor made to make Golovkin look great. Froch has a punchers chance the first half of the fight but Golovkin is defensively responsible when he respects his opponents power.
Good fight 50/50 imo, don't forget Froch destroyed an undefeated Bute and took his soul, clearly Golovkin is stronger mentally and physically but Froch still has a good chance of ripping him apart, but Golovkin could break down Froch's body and stop him lateHeh, not the best example since Golovkin knocked Bute out in the World Championships when they were both amateurs.

Golovkin's reach is actually sort of disputed. There have been several tales of the tape where his reach was stated as 74/75", not 70. For example here:
http://photo.boxingscene.com/uploads/Tale%20of%20the%20Tape.jpg
It would explain why his jab is so successful even against some fighters who are bigger than him.

How are people still thinking GGG is this good?
He squeaked past Jacobs, who has to protect his chin in the way he fights, and Canelo who also probably lost 7-5 in a tough fight. GGG doesn't knock out elite fighters, whilst he has extremely heavy hands, when you get to that kind of level you need some unpredictability with your punches and speed to knock opponents out. GGG has neither, his jab and his workrate have been his best assets in these fights, he has put together rounds by just throwing and landing volume rather than a lot quality.
No one even knows how his power would carry to 168, and Froch has one of the best chins in 168lb history. Obviously this is all a matter of opinion, I just can't see how people dismiss Froch that easily. People thinking he will turn up for a GGG fight the way he fought some others recklessly are mistaken. He 12-0 Abraham, who is not as good a boxer as GGG, but hardly a stiff either.
Realistically we need to see more of GGG before you could properly evaluate this match up.
Jacobs is a puncher-boxer with great technical ability and decent footwork as well as power. GGG caught and dropped him an ultimately won the fight.
Froch is a come forward slugger with poor skills, poor footwork but good resistance. He has still been dropped hard by lesser punchers than GGG and he was losing to Taylor before Taylor gassed, he also should of had a loss to Dirrell but had a home town decision win.
GGG is technically superior, hits harder and I would bet is tougher.

Froch would win this. If fights were based purely on skill Froch would have lost every fight from Pascal on (Mack aside).
But they are not based purely on skill, Froch is the living embodiment of that. GGG is too small and his power is overrated. Froch beat fighters who had jabs, power, speed, skill, and size.
Jermain Taylor as one example - had all those things. He competed with everyone he fought, and only beaten one time clearly, by the best fighter of his generation. Even then he was pretty competitive and coming on strong against a tiring Ward.
I heard someone call him a C+/B- fighter, that may be true in terms of visible talent, but his power was elite, his chin was elite, and his intangibles were A++, and thats why he was a top fighter, and likely HOF'er.
best fighter of his genearation...you talking about john ruiz clone andre ward?
MMMM I think GGG woud be weary of the larger mans power and length. Not an easy fight for GGG, I though jacobs length bothered him abit, couldn't set his hook up on target as much
He'd probably fight more tentatively than you would think, maybe win on points
Froch can punch and is a lot larger
wasnt his length as ggg dominated him with the jab. it was his explosiveness and froch has none of that.
