Wlad had just got dominated and was out for almost 2 years and was 41
Mosley was p4p #3 and WBA champ
Manny was p4p#2 and WBO champ
Oscar was WBC champ at 154
so what am i missing here? all were way younger then Wlad and not coming off of dominating losses
Wladimir Klitschko was a great win for Tyson Fury. An uber elite win which will echo in the annals of the ages. Anthony Joshua went hell for leather with the shell of a former champion.
Yes, he was slight favorite, something like 10/11
Come 2015, the odds were 4/1 - 5/1
Mosley was 7/1.
Don't no the odds for Oscar though.
Klitschko Joshua the Odds were pretty close, you did well to get 6/4
I saw Klitschko much shorter than that when I bet, which was a day before the fight.
The point is Joshua, challenge was far tougher, according to the most independent people around, the bookmakers.
If Mayweather would have fought Pacquiao in late 2009 to early 2010, then he would compare with Joshua's victory, if he would have been victorious.
Mosley wasn't 7/1 he was 4/1.
You are literally making things up as you go along.
I bet on Klitschko the day of the fight so again, making things up.
Odds don't tell a story. Bernard Hopkins was the underdog against Tavouris Cloud it doesn't mean it was a tough fight.
Klitschko was 40, 2 years inactive and coming off a one sided loss, all the things and more you shut down Mosley for and you are telling me that win would be as good as a prime Pacquaio?! :lol1: You're a comedian.
It was listed everywhere for the staples centre December 26th. Mosley said himself after the Mayweather fight, he had been in training camp since October.
And there was a interview with Nazim saying how Mosley should pull out of the fight with Clottey as it doesn't make sense, Risk/Reward
Mosley-Clottey was never signed so it's not possible to pull out.
Corrie Sanders had already wrecked a 5 time defending WBO Champ when Meldoniumz was rocking, or when roids wasn’t even an issue in boxing...
And even more, Brewster wrecked Klitschko when the WBO was for grabs!
Marquez the ATG who was never KO’d, but Juicyah gets credit for beating a non Meldoniumized former champ...
Just Goes to show how the Brit’s are longing for exposure.
Honestly does the concept of improvement mean nothing to you? Klitchko hadn't been dropped for like 8 years before he fought aj. Guys bring up the sanders and Brewster defeats so much like he didn't go undefeated for ten years after that

lets not forget the war klits had with Bryant Jennings prior to fury///
Mosley-Clottey was never signed and Mosley shot down the rumours of it being made when asked.
Try again.

Ok so like I said Mayweather was always the favourite for that fight.

Sure does. Pacquiao refused simple testing and ducked. Not Mayweather.
Pacquiao and Arum also ducked Mayweather at the beginning of 2012. Citing the need to build an outdoor arena and 6 months for a cut to heal.
How's that outdoor arena coming along? It's been 5 years.
Like I said Mayweather has had a long history of ducking, it didn't start with Pacquiao nor did it end.

Back in 2009, the oddsmaker had it a near 50/50 fight.
Mayweather chose to duck rather than fight.
Ok so like I said Mayweather was always the favourite for that fight.
Do you have a point?

Mosley ducked out of the fight with Clottey.
I knew it was two fights.
Mosley-Clottey was never signed and Mosley shot down the rumours of it being made when asked.
Try again.
"The Most Feared Man on the planet":lol1: Mayweather certainly thought so. I see how you skipped over the handwraps stuff before the fight.
Also Mosley had lost several of his recent fights. Wlad had gone on the one of the longest unbeaten champion runs in all of boxing history before Fury.
Can you remember the odds you got on Klitschko? Obviously the odds in the UK market would not have been as good as somewhere neutral.
Didn't Mosley have a fight fall through in October and then Berto in Jan/Feb
Do you remember the odds for Pacquiao vs Mayweather in 2009?
He was, Margarito was. I skipped over the post fight excuses yes.
No I don't think so, not that I recall. There were rumours he was going to fight Joshua Clottey in Dec 09 but nothing materialised.
I got 6/4 odds on Klitschko.
No I don't but I know Mayweather has always been the favourite.
What's with the irrelevant questions?
The fact is the excuses you are using to critisize Mosley you can literally say the exact same for Wlad expect worse. Huge double standard.
Mosley, manny, and OSCAR were waaaay past it when Floyd fought them..so similar
Mosley, manny were p4p #2 and#3 and current world champions!!!...WLAD WAS 41 COMING OFF OF A LOSS AND A 2 YEAR LAYOFF!!!!
Pacquiao refusing random testing doesn't = Mayweather ducking.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.
Mayweather was the greatest ducker of all time.
Ducked the Pacman for 6 years, and ducked many fighters before and after.
His legacy is one of shame he brought to boxing.
When he left boxing, all the big top fights happened.
Oddsmakers are already taking bets on the fight, with most making Mayweather a slight favorite.

I know for a fact Klitschko wasn't the favourite because when I saw he was the underdog I put money on him.
Ok but again that's just highlighting your ridiculous double standard. Mosley didn't fight for a year and a half after destroying "the most feared man on the planet" well Klitschko hadn't fought in LONGER after getting clearly beaten by Tyson Fury. So, yeah.
Mosley had 1 fight fall through not two, exactly the same as Wlad when he fought Joshua. Yet again a double standard.
Mayweather has always been the betting favourite over Pacquaio.

So refresh on on those Odds.
I was betting on the fight, and both fighters were odds on.
Was this the same Margarito that was weight drained after he lose about 20lbs in 6 weeks, and the same Margarito that got caught with loaded wraps? A fight over a year and a half before Floyd? Where Mosley had two fights fall through and had been training camp for 6 months?
Can you also remind me how the bookmakers had the odds in 2009 for Mayweather Pacquiao compared to 2015
I know for a fact Klitschko wasn't the favourite because when I saw he was the underdog I put money on him.

I agree the opponents arent a million miles off, but I think you need to take into context Joshua's inexperience. This was his first top 10 opponent and it was past prime ATG in Wlad Klitschko. Mayweather was prime for ODLH and Mosley and he was at a similar stage in his career to Pac when they fought, if not a bit fresher.
So I think the opponents are comparable, but the scenario of the actual fight favours Joshua's win in terms of how impressive it was.
I disagree.
I don't think Floyd was at his peak against Mosley firstly and secondly having an up and down war with that version or Wlad I don't think is overly impressive.
Although you have a point in regards to his inexperience.
I wasn't comparing the fights anyway.
He wasn't the favourite against Joshua.
Ok and Mosley looked pretty good in the Margarito fight aswell.
Wlad's last 2 fights he fought Jennings and looked lack luster and then lost CLEARLY to Fury then had almost 2 years out the ring.
The same sh*t you are critsizing for other fighters.
Double standard.
