Exclusive interview with Bermane Stiverne following the Wilder loss. While he seems in good spirits he says that he was hit with an illegal shot behind the head just prior to the first combo which dropped him. He's likely referring to a shot which occurs at approximately 56 seconds remaining in the first round. It's this discombobulating shot which he never had time to recover from.

?
that is just so perfect . . .
Yup my spelling... those are the things that are critical. We think you have a point wait!!! "Toney isn't here mrs Torrence!!!"
Instead of trying to find fault with the messenger GO STUDY THE HISTORY OF PRIZE FIGHTING! you will understand that when a fighter is soft and jiggly he is not in shape. Did you look up histrionics?
Then it should be very easy to disprove what we're saying.
What do you disagree with exactly?
Nothing...
Stiverne was in fact using the Mothura strategy, instead of wings he would jigle his tits at a high frequency, blowing Wilder out of the ring... or, Wilder's fist would become confused and disoriented entering the "jiggly zone" and not know how to return to its owner.
Unfortunately someone forgot to tell Bermaine that he could not sit on Wilder as he intended.
You are retareded. you keep saying "we" for one thing, and if you look at the history of prize fighting there is ample evidence of fighters who were not prepared and showed up overweight and soft for fights. This is very obvious and needs no explanation considering that at a fighting weight below this said fighter did a lot better, even with proposed medical issue. If you need these things explained to you you lack common sense and reasoning ability and have no understanding of the process of training for a prize fight.
And stop saying we its creepy.
He looked pretty much the same as he did against Arreola five years earlier. If anything, his upper body actually looked more toned last week than it did against Arreola.
He didn't get himself into the best shape of his life, but this idea that he was grossly out of shape, didn't train, etc, is complete nonsense perpetuated by lazy media and even lazier fans.
You live in a fantasy land...
Stiverne said the truth: Wilder actually found the back of his head first.

But Stiverne seemed too slow and stiff before the knockdown.

He most certainly was out of shape

This is your idea of respect?
"Blah blah. Shut up and retire you fat waste of space."
Many times people throw around very disconcerting language, things they would not say to a fighter directly. There are also times a fighter does something that is reprehensible, it works both ways. For this guy to show up in the condition, or lack of condition, he did made him imo a suitable target of derision. He is not a young fighter and he had a chance to fight for something that many would love the opportunity to fight for...and he shows up unprepared to fight.
That is acting like a near do well, a bum, a fatty!!!! I would put it more diplomatically but what a waste of time and then to complain about the blow to his head... Yeah its possible he got hit illegally, but what can the ref do when he is not even in condition to sustain himself and carry on? Should he have disqualified Wilder? Thats a judgement call, I do not think so. The punch was not flagrant it resulted partially because Stiverne was moving out of the way while the punch was coming forward.
So the ref docs Wilder a point... Stiverne still went down with legal punches. Wake that man up and tell him it was only a 10-9 round before he went down. Thats all one can really do because it was obvious Stiverne was not prepared to fight.
Because he claimed to be SEVERELY dehydrated in that fight. So why would you look at the weight for a fight when he had a medical emergency caused by his body being drained?
He was 248 the first time he beat Arreola, which was his big coming out party.
So while he surely wasn't in the best shape of his life last week, the idea that he came in grossly out of shape because a 39 year old man weighed 254 after weighing 248 for his big career making victory when he was 34 years old just seems histrionic to us.
He most certainly was out of shape... learn the philological basis for what histrionic means, you sound ridiculous using that word in this context.
Fighters who go up that much in weight have a problem and you don't actually know, as neither does anyone here, how much his dehydration was impacted by water weight per se. Dehydration occurs often with Kidney problems, and other medical problems and it is an assumption that his weight was a factor in his problem. What we do know is that coming into his last fights fat was not to his advantage and doubtful it was the cure for his dehydration.
In other words, while accusing others of melodrama using a term usually reserved for psychological affects, a term popularized in psychoanalysis for when Sigmund Freud noticed behavior in women contrasted by whether these women had a Uterus, or a historectemy uterus removed, you make a monumental assumption regarding Stiverne...one that goes upstream from common understood training for a prize fighter. You assume his medical issue was not only due to his weight loss, but that it was rectified by him putting on what? how many pounds of fat? Even if this were true he might put on muscle, if anything, but it probably is not true because it is highly unlikely Stiverne's weight was an issue related to his dehydration.
Just use your common sense and ask if Bermaine looked ready to fight Wilder. He was soft looking, could not move around the ring evasively, he looked uncomfortable... In professional prize fighting its almost never good to come in heavy by as much weight as he did...even if it is muscle!
He could be telling the truth or be giving an excuse. We will never know. I believe him but it's falling on deaf ears.
He had 3-4 secs to complain or signal to the ref before them lasers came yet he didn't....
He got caught with a 1-2 that would have slept mostly anybody, anything that came out his mouth after was gaga talk....He got whooped in embarrassing fashion as a man that's hard to come to terms with
Agree 100%.
But that doesn't mean he isn't telling the truth about a shot behind the head being the reason he was so out of it, which made him susceptible to subsequent shots.
He could be telling the truth or be giving an excuse. We will never know. I believe him but it's falling on deaf ears.
Stiverne is the king of excuses, anytime this guy has a bad performance or loss he has a reason lined up to justify why it happened
Never seen a boxer whos always in complete denial, he must be a pain in the ass to know in real life. Probably has never admitted to a mistake yet alone take the fall for someone else.
This is your idea of respect?
"Blah blah. Shut up and retire you fat waste of space."
My respect for him or any other boxer as a whole is a different matter altogether.
Do i respect his approach to this fight? no. Do i respect where he got in his career in a hard sport? yes.
But we're talking about this fight and he was a fat waste of space in this instance.
Blah blah. Shut up and retire you fat waste of space.
Couldn't even be bothered turning up in shape for a world title fight.
Yeah, pretty telling that he just came in for a paycheck. These pathetic excuses are just a way to try and save face from his embarrassing display, couldnt be bothered to throw a punch.
