...comes back, loses 50% of his current mobility cart body weight and unifies the rules belts via UD’ing AJ and Wilder, how highly/lowly would you rate him?

OK u got me.
So you dug up a half decade old thread (before his comeback) for this?
I'll admit he proved the world wrong in handling Wilder how he did, proved he's the best heavy out there right now, but when this thread was created he was a 400lb basket case, unwilling and unprepared to defend his title.
With a weak resume and an unimpressive win over an aging Klitchko, then falling off the face of the earth in a drug induced stupor, outside of the fanboys on this thread, that was the consensus on him.
No shame when admitting an error. We have all made them, myself included (in case that needs to be said). I relish the day some old threads could be dug up concerning Juan Ma... I was worse than Larry was with Broner... I thought he was going to lay waste to the lightweight divisions.:pat:
This thread is so much pure fantasy that I got nauseous reading it.
Fury is a no talent bum and would lose badly to AJ, Wilder, and I don't even think he'd get past Whyte, Breazeale, or Parker.
When will you UK fans realize how much of a scam he is?
b-b-b-bump
We might as well talk about the possibility of Aliens landing tomorrow and campaigning for world peace.
Sadly, people really are holding onto hope that this 400lb disappointment, will give enough of a sh*t to find a way back in the ring.
To be honest, the first step to determine the best heavyweight is to get all the top heavyweights fighting against each other. These days, boxers are being called the 'best' heavyweights or 'top' heavyweights without them even fighting a single top ranked boxer (in the case of Deontay Wilder).
Obviously, Anthony Joshua has proven himself to be a top level boxer by beating top boxers. Parker to some extent as well. So beating those guys will be more impressive than beating Deontay Wilder. However, there are other heavyweights like Kubrat Pulev, Povetkin and Ortiz that also are among the best. There is no undisputed best yet in the current heavyweight division. So those guys have to fight each other to establish who is the true best!
If Fury just beats one or two of them, it won't really do much for his legacy. However, if he beats them and dominates by consistently beating other top opponents, then he would surely cement a legacy. It could potentially make him an ATG.
How many rounds would the prime Foreman or Tyson need to KO Molina or Takam?
Tyson went 12 rounds with guys that were no better or worse than Takam. I wouldn't say guys like Mitch Green or James Tillis were necessarily any better than Takam. Foreman also went the distance with some journeymen on the way up.
The fact is that it's boxing and you run into guys that are not that good but hard to get rid of.
If he can just get back to fighting weight I would be highly impressed, he's blown up before but never for this long. A few months ago it looked like he was starting to get the weight off then the UKAD thing was pushed back to October (still no date) then he just ballooned back up. The ghost of 2015 Tyson Fury in Dusseldorf will lurk over the division for years.
probably make him pound for pound number 1. for some reason heavyweights dont get any credit in pound for pound rankings but if he beat them, along with beating wlad, then he'd be top of mine.
In my rankings, heavyweights don't belong in pound for pound rankings and sub-heavyweights don't belong in heavyweight rankings. Pound for pound rankings are only for boxers below heavyweight where there isn't an unlimited weight division they are competing at.
I would rate him as the best heavyweight in the world today. I don't think either Wilder or AJ are exceptional heavyweight champions. I think the prime K brothers, prime young Foreman, prime young Tyson, prime Holyfield and prime Lewis would probably beat both AJ and Wilder. Look how much trouble AJ had with the 41 year old Wlad and how much trouble Wilder had with Molina. How many rounds would the prime Foreman or Tyson need to KO Molina or Takam?
great post, Tyson Foreman would kill Takam
Wilder and Joshua aren't particularly proven though. I mean who have those two beat really? Joshua beat a shot Wlad and a bunch of gatekeepers. Wilder beat some gatekeepers and journeymen.
Fury beating Wilder and/or Joshua would be the kind of wins that we would only be able to properly reassess with time, because at this point, those guys might as well be just hype jobs. Fury is quite unproven himself too. The top HWs just didn't fight each other in the last years, we don't know what the real hierarchy is like.
It would still help Fury out a lot though because right now he is basically a flash in the pan a footnote in history. If he comes back and beats the top guys he can at least show he was more than just one good night and was really the best over a period that would include the years he took off because he beat the guys that were in control during that time.
Probably puts him squarely in the Hall of Fame discussion at the least.

I get what you mean, with the HWs not getting credibility on the P4P rankings.... but like Fury says himself 'P4P doesn't mean anything'.
We all know the HW champion of the world is the best/strongest/toughest boxer on the planet. P4P is just a made up thing to make the smaller guys seem more legitimised to/for the casual viewer.
The HW champion of the world doesn't care where he comes on some arbitrary list.... he is the HW champion of the world.... enough said really.
