How would Canelo and Jacobs do at 160 in the 80's and 90's?

Hard to say as people only show whom they are under distress and with best opposition in front of you. I believe they would do great, the canelos, sergio martinez', golovkins, jacobs. There is just not that many greats for these guys to show off their talent and when they do get matched, its 1 sided because these guys dont wanna get hit.

Mike McCallum gives them both all they can handle. Hopkins/Jones/Toney beat them both. Hopkins vs Canelo would be fun to watch But Toney was never great at middleweight. When he was at middleweight he fought absolute bums. SD against Merqui Sosa? Knocked down by Reggie Johnson? In his 22nd fight he was fighting fighters making their debut. He was way behind against Nunn, but got the KO. The same Nunn who had recently been struggling with Iran Barkley and Marlon Sterling (a welterweight).

Both Jacobs and Canelo get beat easily. The same goes for GGG. Although they all might beat Hopkins with random Olympic style drug testing and a legit referee that deducts points or stops the fight due to his flagrant fouling. I dislike the older Hopkins but he was a different beast in the 90s. He was an offensive killer.

what about Jacobs I don't see Jacobs beating any of the guys listed. He might go 12 rounds with McCallum and Duran on his best day but the rest would brutalize him.

Yeah, he's a light heavyweight. He would certainly have struggled to hit 160 with fight day weigh ins. Did they have diuretics back in the 80/90s? I know all the top fighters were on roids back then, not sure about weight cut drugs doe.

Do fans of other sports talk so much about this sorta sci fi fantasy sh^t as boxing fans do? Are boxing fans more or less into sci fi fantasy sh^t than other sports fans? As to the OP they'd either do better or worse than they are currently doing I imagine.
