Is there anyone here who only enjoy watching heavyweight boxing and don't care much, or at all about boxing in the lower weight divisions?
I think the number 1 heavyweight in the world should be ranked number 1 P4P. Nobody from any of the lower weight divisions can beat the number 1 heavyweight in the world. The best heavyweights are ultimately the best boxers, period.
Hard to be a fan when it's not that interesting compared to other divisions. In the 90s, I rarely watched the lower division until Naseem Hamed arrived on the scene.
I kind of used to be like you. Mostly because the heavyweight division had such an extensive history with an array of great champions (Ali, Tyson, Frazier, Holyfield, Lewis, etc.) but unfortunately the HW division is kind of dog**** right now.
Lower divisions are more interesting, historically and even up to now.
Can Usyk beat Joshua in a head to head bout in an unlimited weight division? If yes, then he is better. Otherwise, Joshua is better.
Joshua only win fight b/c he is big. He had good fundamentals thats about it.
The heavyweight division is shaking in their boots for the return of the true champ "The Gypsy King." A real champ that has shown he can do it all.
I get what youre saying OP
The heavyweight champion in most cases (unless the champ sucks ie John Ruiz) will be the best boxer on the planet but boxing is about entertainment
Sure Klitscko may have been the best but he was boring to watch
Also youre getting confused on what P4P means, being the best and being the P4P best are 2 different things
Not me. Heavyweights are OK but my favorite boxers are rarely heavyweights. As for them being the best PFP? No. They are not the best PFP by a long shot. A 240 pound Rigo with the same speed and skills plus double his punching power would slaughter any heavyweight. Heavyweights can beat smaller fighters because they are bigger, not because they are better because they aren't. When it comes to all time best PFP boxers few heavyweights ever get nominated. It's SRR, Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Roy Jones, Mayweather, Lopez, Whitaker, Chavez and other boxers below heavyweight that usually get the highest historical PFP rankings.
Klitchko alone is a waaay better W than Anyone on GGG's .
Name value wise, sure. Attention wise, sure.
But when you look at the reality of the situation, Klitschko struggled at times with Jennings, was absolutely pathetic against fury, and entered the AJ fight three full years since the last time he'd looked like himself.
And even then, AJ went life and death with him.
A case could easily be made that wins over a prime Jacobs and a prime Lemiuex in unification fights prove more than going life and death with an inactive and over the hill former champion.

you surely have not given a ton of thought to what pound for pound means.
HW boxing has not been good for a while. big men just don't box in their youth any more. the guys are unathletic, out of shape. joshua, wilder, are a breath of fresh air because they do have physical talent, but both started boxing when they were damn near grown men, and are seriously lacking in experience and skills becuase of it. adn they're basically unique. in lower weight classes you usually have lots of talented fighters / athletes at or around the same weight. at HW you have two of them, and wilder's honestly not that physically talented, he's just huge and powerful.
wilder boxes like a novice sometimes. surely you understand how much of a gap in skill there is between a young fighter like wilder, and a young fighter like crawford?
if terence crawford was 6.5' tall and retained his skillset you'd think he was superman. he'd make those two look like amateurs.
Agree with everything except for P4P.
P4P should be a way to compare who is most dominant AT THEIR WEIGHT.
Which wouldn't necessarily be a heavyweight. Right now GGG has the WBC, WBA and IBF belts in his weight class. That is more impressive than AJ having just the WBA and IBF in his weight class. So if we're comparing them based on dominance in their division, you'd have to rank GGG higher.

Tell me who's more skilled, Usyk or Joshua ?

The best heavyweight in the world beats any boxer in the world. All these so called P4P boxers from the lower weight divisions only need such rankings to feel better about themselves because they can't beat heavyweights in a real boxing bout. If they were really great P4P boxers, they would move up to heavyweight and compete at heavyweight, the ultimate weight division.
Nah, I'm just kidding lol.

Heavy sucks right now, their is no credible opposition whatsoever for Joshua. The talent pool is dire, Cruiser is where it's at right now.
