After my dad was disappointed in the Spinks fight, I asked him "Is there anyone out The you think that could beat Mike Tyson?"...He replied "Well Son there is this guy named Evander Holyfield" This was 1988. When they finally fought my Dad took even odds that Holy would win and everyone jumped on it. He was never smug, just felt guilty taking everyone's money. Anywho to answer the question, Wilder is so different style and length wise, both can punch, and unload, hard to determine. Beats all the cans Tyson did. Loses to all the same studs. The Douglases, Ruddocks, bonecrushers, who knows.
holmes and spinks were great names but they were finished, spinks came up from cruiser and was finished before the fight started, homes was past it and finished. good names but the circumstances.... Bruno and biggs are decent names
holmes was not finished. he still beat top ten guys like mercer and lost a razor close fight to the guy that ko'd lennox lewis. he wasnt at his best obviously but he was not roy jones against calzaghe or something.
also spinks came up from 175 but he had a win over an all time great heavy so you forgot that part? thats like marquez moving up to fight floyd and winning the fight. and if someone then beat marquez saying oh hes just a light weight means nothing...sounds silly. spinks proved he could fight there he just got steamrolled. wasnt his best weight but he was great enough to do what he did. stirverne isnt great enough to do anything but beat arreola
That is true, the thing about tyson though is that he faced his best opponents he wasnt the same fighter anymore. Still would probably run through his current HW division.
Joshua, Wilder, Ortiz, Haye, and White are better than Ruddock, Holmes, Bruno, Spinks.
I mean Wilders resume is straight up dog sh1t... and i dont think the guy is very talented at all..but lets not pretend Tysons beat and killers...He didnt..he lost to every elite boxer he faced..He was mentally weak
It's hard to say if he always was...the first loss and subsequent jail time definitely cracked him. He later lost to guys who were far worse than guys he beat early on tho. He needed that support network he had early in order to be successful i think.

Foreman had C level skills but yet you praise him
Foreman has a level skills compared to wilder. I dont praise foreman though. But its disrespectful to him to even mention wilder in the same sentence.
tbh guys like Thomas, tucker, biggs ,Ruddock weren't bad fighters. even tubs, Williams, Bruno, seldon were probably better than anyone on wilders resume at the time Tyson beat them. not all in the 80s, but on his resume nonetheless.

you are aware Tysons resume was dogsh1t in the 80's right???

How is he underrated?
C level skills
Terrible footwork
Hasnt beat anyone good
Gets in wars with bums like duhapaus and gets outboxed by washington

Dog, stop.
Tillis, Green, Berbick, Smith (maybe not so much), Pinklon, Tucker, Biggs, Holmes, Tubbs, Spinks, and Williams all body Wilder.
Those cats were good, they just weren't the crème de la crème. Most of those dudes in todays market are world champs.
so was Audley Harrison...your point?
My point is that he wasn't just anyone. Not every gold medalist does great things, I know that but he was still undefeated before running into Mike. I think if there were no Tysons, Bowes, or Lewis, he may of done good for himself but that's a maybe.
Funny how you just targeted Biggs and ignored the others. You're predictable lol.

He was saying it is dog ****, I disagree. Spinks was finished before the fight because he got scared. It happens sometimes in boxing where a man is already defeated before stepping into the ring.
Bruno?
Holmes?
Spinks?
Biggs?
You do realize Biggs is a gold medalist right?
