WTF is this. Why does Saunders refuse to fight anyone good? Lemieux was never that good and Saunders is a much better boxer. He will destroy Lemieux. I wanna see Saunders give up the belt if he doesn't step up soon... Fight someone like Canelo, Jacobs or even old Golovkin, just someone with a pulse!
He beat Eubank Jr. who is better than Lemieux...
eubank still hasnt beaten anyone very good yet. 37 year old arthur abraham? i think he will win the tournament but lets save the praise for when its warranted.
Are you joking? It should be common knowledge that Eubank is better than Lemieux.
1: Eubank would never lose to journeymen like Alcine and Rubio.
2: Lemieux got knocked out relatively easy by Golovkin, lol. He is so far beneath the big 4 at middleweight (Golovkin, Canelo, Jacobs and Saunders) that it's pathetic to suggest him as standing a chance against any of them. Saunders will beat him easily and Eubank, who is Saunders' equal, would do it equally easy, maybe even easier, due to a higher chance of scoring a knockout.
3: Lemieux's only semirelevant win was against Peter Quillin's wasted leftovers, lol. Eubank defeated Artur Abraham, who would still murder Lemieux today, despite being shot.
Eubank is better than Lemieux.
Lol!
Pitiful argument. He may be better but he sure hasn't proven it.
And once decent win over a totally shot Abraham is not enough to eclipse Lemieux's world title win. Had Jr. beat Saunders, we wouldn't be having this convo but he didn't, so we are....
Bwahahahaha!!!
On what planet has he proven to be better?
Not on Earth I'm afraid.

I don't think Eubank is a big puncher at top level. He is a decent puncher who fights at a high intensity, if he makes it at top level I think it will be as a high intensity swarmer, who can do it with some skill and boxing ability. Something between Tim Bradley and Aaron prior in terms of style. That's how I envisage him having long term success.
In the BJS fight, I think first it was too soon for him, and also he tried to box the first 6-7 rounds and looked disjointed and lost most of them.
Once he realised he needed to go after Saunders and put it on him he more or less swept the back half of the fight but it was too little too late.
I think he would have learnt a lot from the fight and I feel it was more about experience. He is a late starter to boxing and sometimes these guys take an early loss or sometimes quite a few, but peak later.
Worth a watch if your interested in the division.
Thanks for the breakdown. Seems like Eubank just started too late or something. But he does look pretty strong and composed. I guess we ll know for sure the next time he steps up.
Is the Saunders vs Eubank Jr fight worth a watch? Ive only seen a few fights of Eubank but he seems like a real intense banger. How did BJS beat him exactly, was it a fun match?

The funny thing is that Lemieux would be his best opponent he would have faced up until this point so this thread is useless. Mismatch my a55. If anything Saunders should be worried he will bet put in a coma.

Depends what version of Saunders comes out, he could come in prepared, fighting fit and box Lemieux's head off. If he comes in with poor preparation, training camp then he could get brutally KO'd
saunders doesnt destroy people. he beat eubank jr, lee, john ryder, artur akakov and nick blackwell by a couple points in each fight. #3 and 4 guys fighting seems reasonable to me especially when everyone else is fighting. the winner can fight jacobs and the winner of that can fight canelo(after he wins rematch)

Lemieux may turn out to be a good match financially in England. Lemieux is a good puncher. Depending on Saunders chin it could get interesting. At some point Lemieux will land flush on Saunders.
This seems like a good fight to see where BJS is at. If BJS dominates Lemieux, then he is elevated to the top tier of the division along with GGG, Jacobs, & Canelo.
Agreed. Good fight. BJS should be good enough to win but it only takes 1 huge shot from Lemieux to turn the tide of the fight.
If BJS wins, he's rightfully in the top tier at 160.

My money is on Lemieux if he fights Saunders. Lemieux has one punch fight ending power in both hands and comes to fight and throws lots of fast bombs. Saunders will run and he will lose in my opinion.
