Amazing commentator who never talks down a fighter, but points out any flaws during the fight in a constructive way. Blends his own brand of humour with his technical insight on MMA. He also knows a bit about boxing as heard on his brilliant podcast. He's better than Lampley, Merchant, Kellerman and Stephen A. Only commentator in boxing that comes close is Al Bernstein. Please leave a comment on his youtube channel so he knows he's wanted in boxing.

No thanks, you can keep that drug riddled lab rat as far away from boxing as humanly possible. He's a f*cking moron of the highest order and anyone who considers themselves a fan needs to seriously reassess their life.
Rogan would be better than anyone on HBO at this point.
But Rogan is a color commentator, they're supposed to be more knowledgeable than the play by play guy.
Rogan's boxing knowledge is casual at best. He actually has a background in traditional martial arts, jiu jitsu and wrestling, so he has the knowledge for MMA. But he's no boxing expert. He might fit in as a third wheel with two boxing commentators who knew what they're talking about. He doesn't have boxing knowledge, but he's at least entertaining.
Rogan DKSAB. His Podcast isn't brilliant either. He has some good guests, but his engagment lacks lustre.
dude... how come everything you say sounds like some old, bitter, grumpy, impossible to impress, narrow minded a$$hole?
oh and forgot know it all attidtude
you must be a real winner outside of the internet folk you speak down on so often.
He overdoes talking up the UKC fighters. Every good fighter they have becomes the best PFP fighter on the planet as if great boxers, kick boxers and Thai boxers don't even count. The guy has to yell HERE WE GO at the start of EVERY big fight and then yell IT IS ALL OVER at EVERY KO. That gets old an annoying to me and he has been doing that for at least ten years. He gushes over mighty mouse and a few others to the point of being sickening. Yeah, they are good fighters but he turns them into gods or supermen when they aren't.
thats mike goldberg.
Boxing commentary panels don’t need Rogan, but need someone who is Roganesque. Guy has an incredibly popular podcast that brings even science geeks into the world of mma just bc they like him. Guy has a massive base. He has a flare for the hyperbolic, but recall that his job is to provide color commentary.
Boxing is dying a slow death bc of having ancient dweebs in tuxedos providing “color”.
And the addition of Stephen A. smith?! Gag. What an imbecile. To listen to him commentate boxing is like listening to Shannon Sharpe on mma.
Say what you want about ufc. They will always attract red necks who like watching men 69, but they are outpacing boxing in terms of growing their audience.
Boxing is only still relevant to the masses bc of Floyd & Conor.
Casuals don’t care about GGG\Canelo. They have to be sold on these fighters. And that’s fine. But Oscar is out of his depth as a promoter. He’s like Floyd—good name, but needs an Al Haymon to actually pull off building a super star. Boxing has no more superstars at the moment.
Guys like rogan can help build them in the ufc. He communicates mma specifics well to casuals, and truly loves the sport. Dominic Cruz is another excellent color commentator.
The only time I tune in to listen to boxing commentary is Kellerman. And hbo/ESPN seemed to have drained his soul.
Boxing is still being controlled by corrupt, old dimwits.
If corruption is a part of the game, it needs to be controlled by corrupt, young, relevant marketing geniuses.
It is dying before your eyes.
You have restored a certain provisional faith that in addition to some posters here I hold in high esteem, like Red Foxx, there are people that can express a relatively complex opinion, instead of reducing everything to "I hate so and so" or "so and so is the greatest thing since sliced bread."
Thank you
I get it, with a low IQ big bulbous forehead things have to be simply stated for you... Go argue with your reflection like you usually do and try not to get spittle on the mirror, mom may kick you out of the basement otherwise and you would have to go back to mop & bucketing the ****o booths.
Welcome to the ignore list moron.
Fùck off with that wall of text you peasant.

Eddie is such a trip. 50% of him is incredibly candid, down to earth, and rational. Then, the other side is just sending in messages from deep space. You have to pause and think, surely he's joking, right? But, he's not. :D
Took me years, but I like him now.
Hes also an incredible martial artist... He is doing somethng that Gene LeBell did in the fifties... LeBell had/has an encyclopedia type knowledge of wrestling holds along with one of the best Judo vocabularies, so to speak. The Judo people snubbed Gene for years, because getting on the mat with Gene could be dangerous to their health lol. Bravo is creative and has a unique take on a lot of the Jiu Jitsu stuff... The Brazilian orthodoxy also snubbed him because it was easier than dealing with him on the mat.
Eddie is a person who is naive in a great way... he has managed to have the same child like thirst to be creative and try different things to develop intellectually and physically as a martial artist. That is the best way to approach the world as far as I have found so far. Its the way I have done my martial arts teaching as well... "Lets try it!" Then we know if it works or not.
Ju Jutsu often, like wrestling, is reduced to a bag of tricks. This actually comes from some common stereotypes, historical stuff and miscommunications. The stereotype is from the age of the Oriental super villian, during the thirties.... The Asian supervillian is cunning, has sexual powers to seduce, and can use mind control!! (the shadow movie is a great example of this villian).
Then add to this that when Japanese teachers came here, with the language barrier, it was easy to teach Englishmen the art through the techniques...Even forms in classical Jpanese arts are two person. So the art became Jiu Jitsu tricks, with no underlying principles to hold the art together as a cohesive force in its own right.
Judo helped perpetuate these misunderstandings as Kano's approach was multicultural and it was in his interest to make Ju Jutsu systems look outdated. The result of all these missunderstandings is that many people who study the gendai and even the koryu classical Japanese Arts initially thought going in that there was a rigid protocall and no creativity to approaching and learning the art. This is not necessarily the case, it depends on a host of circumstances.
Guys like Bravo, when they teach are willing to be creative and look at many things when studying technical knowledge. The Gracie brothers have always done this with their art, which is really in many respects Judo with no interruptions (second world war in Japan). SO I give him a lot of space....even when he is being ridiculous! Hes usually smiling when he is being ridiculous lol.
Maybe not one of the guys commentating but he could be used in some way like backstage and post fight interviews, he's great to listen to and a pretty diverse thinker.
Well Red...
Lets keep in mind that his main Jitz teacher...who I adore, but is a real goof, is Eddie Bravo. Eddie was arguing for the flat earth, lol.
Hes very cerebral, and the guy they all drool over Stanhope? is also very cerebral, alas his comedy is not my cup of tea either, but I do like Joey and Joey brings Rogan back down to our planet.
I don't think we can take guys who have not boxed and make them a commentator in the same way an ex fighter will be a commentator... thats for sure.

Hell no...
He doesn't even get his jiu jitsu calls right any more any the guy is an advanced practitioner.
He seriously doesn't know shyt about boxing.
People hear the confidence by which he speaks and are fooled into thinking he's a great analyst. He's not. And, he's probably the worst stand up comedian I've ever heard.

Edmund is for sure an idiot. He's recently been talking about wanting to see Ronda come back to get merked by Cyborg...I assume so he can get one last payday cuz everyone at his gym is garbage or turned into garbage once they joined his gym.
Seriously if you look up the stats of fighters who joined his gym it's amazing the sh^t fighter they've been since joining that gym vs what they were previously to joining that gym. Ronda is the only one who had success there. Hell Vic D turned to garbage I believe upon joining that gym although he was old as f#ck already so that might not be all Edmund's fault, but f#ck it I'mma blame him.
Exactly. I don't think fighters can blame everything on the coach but this relationship is pathological. Rhonda is very smart and went out of her mind.
What the fùck are you talking about? Her coach has nothing to do with it. It was the UFC matchmaker that ruined her which is ultimately ordered by UFC. You don't throw a star to the rows after getting their lights stomped out. They need to build confidence before they make their way back into hell. Getting stomped by Holm, its easy to get gunshy and thats exactly what happened to Rousey.
She was trash anyway, but the UFC fùcked her over. They don't know how to keep stars stars.
You know...you sound more stupid than usual, and thats an achievement! First off there is a ton of evidence that her coach mismanaged her horribly. Its possible that a lot of people were wrong now, we will never know for sure but heres something we will know:
The woman's division was a competitive dead heat and for a time there was Rhonda and Cyborg standing head and shoulders above the rest.Cyborg does not figure into your illogical mishugana. Nobody was a star above and beyond the rest of the division which changed champions like I change underwear in the heat. Nunnes could punch and where did that go? Tate won and lost and lost... Rhonda dominated for a while... There was no star to throw Rhonda to. Most people thought Nunnes would lose that fight as I recall. The UFC has consistantly made matches the exact same way, and it makes for the best fighting the best.
Rhonda would have lost to most fighters that night she was not ready to fight period because her coach had put her into a situation that caused her to lose all confidance in her ability. You really can't see that though can you? You can't see that this guy was a sociopath, a user, a person who played hard to get to create a buzz because his skills did not create that buzz... And Rhonda, strong willed like her mom could not cut her loses and back off the guy. So she went back in there, knowing full well on some level that she had been really injured and was not ready to fight again.
Its amazing to me how many folks here say stupid things when if they just looked at the fights... Watch the fight and watch how Rhonda responds...like a wounded, injured puppy. She does not even put her hands up to defend herself. She stand there frozen probably reliving Holly Holm's beating and paralyzed.
When Ward beat 'Dawson he did it with a punch that he set up to go over Dawson's guard hand, its in THE FREAKIN TAPE of the fight!! yet it was all """Oh Dawson was weight drained...." When we open our eyes the world can be an informative place my friend.
