What I always wondered about VADA was since it is relatively new has it setup it's testing in a professional, detailed manner for the athletes that have to go through testing and according to Conte, the answer is no. So listening to this video Ortiz and other athletes have a legit grievance about how the drug testing process done by VADA is administered.
For example there is no orientation explaining the process or a quick education on what is expected from them, the do's and don'ts of testing, etc. For goodness sakes VADA gave Ortiz an English/French form to fill out. Knowing Ortiz only understands Spanish. I also question if the guy they send to collect the specimen is anything but a errand boy who cannot answer any questions about testing that may be asked. Anyone who has gone to the Dr and filled out forms asked the receptionist questions on the paper work. Here fighters have no one to answer their questions. VADA needs to do a much better job to prevent possible mistakes made by both sides of the testing.
Victor Conte explains Ortiz situation and VADA's procedures.

Did u listen to the video? Conte talks about the list of banned substances. Give it a listen it's very informative.
Nah yet but Cheer i will do that when i get home from work.
Can't view videos at work.
Not sure which list of ban substances VADA worked from, but it needs to be a list in accordance with either the WADA or the organisation (WBC for example).
Because they are a private company am not sure they could make up the list as they go along. And was Ortiz provided with a list of ban substances beforehand by VADA? Was he notified clearly in his own language what he can take and not take, What he is already on for BP or diabetes etc.
VADA will improve and can improve but this Ortiz case is getting drag all over the place at the moment.

If the testing agency is incompetent then there is only so much the fighter can do as the agency controls the entire process. In the video the meds were not even listed on the WADA banned list. Not only that the meds Ortiz tested positive for as per WADA said they also have a legit purpose when used. So if Ortiz looked them up they would not of appeared on the list according to Conte. The whole process that VADA does neess to be looked into. VADA needs to bring some1 in and make so easy serious changes.

Maybe VADA catches so many fighters is because they are truly fu*king over the fighters with a dysfunctional testing system.
I was truly in shock listening to this video. And if Conte's claims are so then VADA should be sued by Ortiz. No promoter should use them until they redo and fix their testing process from top to bottom.
Well there is a reason why VADA are not the gold standard of testing, Margaret goodman herself said it. but they are still learning and this would be one of those areas that they need to improve on if it is indeed true.
On a different note if as an athlete i had a history of drug testing issue that almost derailed my career i would make sure everything is spot on next time, even if the testing agency are incompotent. Ortiz has a team around him, they could/should make sure things like this is sorted out before he gets tested. They have their own doctors too that should go through the list of banned items.

Also did VADA send a Spanish speaking person to deal with Ortiz so that no mistakes or misunderstandings would happen. If not why not? After all millions of $ are at stake.
If you've been busted for banned substances before all I know is you should be learning all this sh^t better than he did.
And I can't imagine they couldn't find a Spanish speaking pee guardian to deal with Ortiz so its not just a bunch of misunderstood mumbling with a guy watching you pee with all sorts of weird sh^t like that.
So testing agencies can be as incompetent as they want to be. They owe it to the sport & athlete to be as professional & detailed as possible. The athlete is not an expert, the agency is supposed be. Did u listen to the video? BTW I have no horse in this race.
