He didnt want Ward period.
Why the fuk would he move up to fight a dangerous fight against a fighter with no following? Froch & Chavez are bigger fights & lower risk.
How come all logic goes out the window when discussing GGG opponents? Mikey wanted to fight Cotto at 154 or whatever. Why arent you giving him chit for not calling out Charlo at 154? Lmao
Every fighter on earth would move up to fight a big fight against an easy opponent. How come only GGG gets chit for it? Boxing is a BUSINESS
Golovkin has stated repeatedly that he likes to fight guys that will meet him in the center of the ring and exchange punches. He doesn't like to chase his opponents. He doesn't like having to figure someone out and change gameplans if need be. He likes to stand in the middle of the ring and exchange.
It doesn't take a genius to read between the lines and figure out that Golovkin didn't want to deal with Ward's style. That's why he said Ward was "too much" for him. Because Ward's style was on another level and he couldn't handle that level of expertise. It's completely different trying to deal with Canelo's boxing vs. Ward's boxing.
No .. he said that talking about Ward was too much for him. Different meaning altogether.
But wanted 164 for Ward????
Mayweather ofught Oscar and cotto at 154lb, the lmw limit but Canelo at 151?
lol talk about shooting yourself in the foot slag
Ward would go to 160 for Mayweather but no less than 168 for GGG. Damn, this isn't just yesterday's news. It's the day before yesterday's news. It's been talked to death for years. Your hero is retired. He doesn't want to fight anymore. GGG is still champ and just made a fortune and may soon make another fortune. He is never going to fight Ward and Ward no longer wants to fight anybody. Let it go. Quit beating a dead horse. Move on. Forget about it. Quit starting threads attacking GGG and building up Andre Ward. Ward is already respected as a great fighter. Just be happy for him and shut up. Please.
I don't know of A level trolls on NSB.. lounge- yes we do have..
The trolls are rated by professor Eff Pandas and only he has the final say on this matter..
That's right, I forgot about Pandas being the authority on troll rankings.
Call him TrollRec
Floyd, any chance you come back for Spence, Crawford, or Thurman?
Floyd: um, its like i said before, i'm retired
Floyd, any truth to the rumor you are fighting a ufc fighter?
Floyd: uuum, its like i said before, i am only coming back for Conor McGregor because he called me out.
It definitely does. I've seen A level p4p trolls, and I've seen domestic level bum trolls.

Hell yeah. 164 for a p4p great, and 168 for that bum that got his ass whooped for 12 rounds by a "JMW COMING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME". Damn right they ain't getting the same deal. You know why? Put Andre in the ring with Canelo for 12 rounds and watch what happens. That's why they ain't getting the same deal.
What's wrong with you, Larry, putting Ward name in the same sentence as that walking heavy bag Chavez Jr? I thought you knew there's levels to this
trolling has no levels my friend..
The lie:
"GGG, move up and fight Ward"
lil'g - "um, NOPE!"
The truth:
In 2013 -
HBO: "GGG, are you ready to fight Andre Ward?"
GGG: "Yes"
HBO: "Andre, are you ready to fight GGG?
Ward: "No"
In 2015 -
"GGG, move up and fight Ward at 168 .. but not yet .. sometime next year, when he's had another tune up."
GGG: "I'll be busy at 160 next year. Tell him to get back to me when he's ready to fight."
In 2017:
Ward: "I haven't been able make 168 for years. That's why I moved up to 175 to fight Kovalev"
Why not? Most fighters look for an advantage when they are facing a dangerous fighter. They all can but Golovkin can't? Canelo has made a career of fighting smaller guys until recently. Mayweather spent the 2nd half of his career fighting past-prime stand out guys.
Very high risk (of losing), low reward for GGG. No brainer there. I like GGG but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know GGG and team wanted no part of Ward. That being said though, it was a mismatch then and would've also been today (even more today). You can't blame Ward for trying to lure GGG for a fight though because the irony there is it would've been Ward's biggest commercial fight of his career with how HBO was promoting GGG. It definitely would've been a bigger success than both Ward vs Kovalev fights combined. The fact that Canelo scored his 2nd biggest PPV outing with GGG says something about GGG's current appeal with the masses, something I feel Ward (while won't admit it) wishes he had throughout his career.
this is common sense...but you cant get golovkin fans to admit anything.....ward would have beaten golovkin easily....probably very easily actually
but it was ok for golovkin and company to go around running their mouths in their minds....."hey you cant duck someone not in your division"....even though he was out there trying to fight guys in 168....you cant go around trying to make fights in the division and then tuck tail when the best from that division comes calling....thats cowardice IMO
