Boxing Scene has a tendency to label fighters A-level before they've proved anything. Spence may have A-level potential, but beating a broken Kell Brook doesn't make someone an A-level fighter. If he was to beat Thurman, Crawford, and D. Garcia or Porter at WW, then we would be able to shower him with these labels. Why do you consider Crawford an A- Level fighter when Brook is better than anything on Crawford's resume?

Jacobs isn't more skilled than The Truth. Spence has better fundamentals and his win over Kell is better than any of Jacobs' wins. Truth. I've never seen a fighter crack under the lights like Jacobs did vs Golovkin. He has a solid performance but his out busts after landing a good shot was insane... why not follow it up? I never liked that A B C grading system. There is no exact definition or understanding of it. Different people have their own ideas on how this grading works. Spence and Jacobs are both excellent fighters. I think Spence is probably the best welterweight in the world and Jacobs is one of the 3 best middleweights in the world. I never use this method of grading boxers but if I did I would rate them both A or A-level because they are both good world champion type boxers. Giving Jacobs a B- grade seems ridiculous to me. Jacobs would be a hard fight for any middleweight past or present. If he is a B- fighter then A level fighters don't exist. B- sounds to me like a grade for a top 30 contender. Any top 10 contender should be a solid B and any legit world champion should be at least a B+. Good champions like Spence and Jacobs should be at least A- level. Outstanding proven champions should be A level or what the hell is A level for? Supermen? You summed it up perfectly. I just don't understand how one guy can be a better boxer than the other but be ranked B while the other guy is ranked A. It's like Sergey and Thurman. They said they don't want to do surgery but they are saying they want him to rest for 30 days and then they will re-evaluate him. Agreed! Pirog beat a broken Jacobs that was suffering from early symptoms of spinal cancer. Dude could barely walk as it progresed which wasn't even a year later after the Pirog loss. I'm 100% sure it impacted his performance. Pirog got lucky and hadn't fought anybody since. He's not even out of the prospect range with 20 fights/wins.
