Every serious news media analyst had GGG winning this fight. I know we have a lot of fanboys on this site, but I'd like that to sink in for a second. Virtually no one serious in boxing world thought Canelo won. That is unless you're a Boxingscene member who enjoys stuffing Canelos balls in his mouth.

9-3 pretty wide... How you score each round? I had ggg winning round4-9 easily and the rest are swing rounds. I can see a draw of people are being generous to nelo. Thought ggg won round 1 too but all the judges gave that to nelo but I was ok with that since neither. did much the first three round.
I score fights based on thrown/landed and effective punches. Gennady easily out worked Canelo consistently. I gave Canelo rds. 2, 10 and 11. I gave him rd. 11 because I missed the first 2 mins of the rd. and was being generous by that stage. Also I noticed that GGG wasn't getting credit for a lot of punches that he landed. At one point I watched him land 4 punches and the compubox counter didn't move a single digit. Pitiful. To me this fight wasn't close.
I watched the fight with 4 casuals and 2 regulars.
Only one person scored the fight for Canelo and that was my aunt who thinks he's cute lol
I had GGG winning 9-3 and I gave Canelo rd.11 being generous because I only saw 1 min of the round because the satellite glitched.

Very understandable because I could only give Canelo three decisive rounds on my unofficial scorecard. After scoring the first three rounds for him, I didn't score another round for him until the 10th round. I had GGG sweeping rounds 4-9 with a final tally of 7-3-2 or a score of 117-113 for one Gennady Golovkin.
Different case study....
Had 9 people watching at my house, 4 casuals who didn't really know who GGG was. Every single person thought GGG won very easily by the end of the fight. 9-3, 8-4.
Everyone agreed that Candelita couldn't bother GGG with any of his power and that he got scared and ran. We all thought GGG broke him down mentally and physically.

Because all they saw was one guy putting on pressure with higher output (even if many shots were bloccked and missed) and the other guy in danger because he was against the ropes
He threw more, he landed more.
Why am I thinking there's something wrong with a sport where the public clearly see a fight so differently to the judges and a few self proclaimed experts? I'm not exactly saying we should bring back the days of victory by crowd acclamation, but I'm thinking maybe there's something to be said for not looking too deep. Any position or any scorecard can be argued (and often is) by the varied extremes of fans and haters on this website. Perhaps public polls on social media really are the way forward - it's supposed to be a sport for the masses after all - maybe our endless bickering could use a little dose of what the rest of the world thinks... just a bit of common sense and good old visceral reaction to a fight. Maybe we've grown a bit too insular in our closed little world of internecine bickering. Just a thought.
Slightly more people at the party but I have exactly the same story.
Same we had 3 guys awake and music on so could barely hear the commentary.
Huge robbery.
Yea I think judges are counting power punches during the fight. Mrs Byrd mighta actually been the compubox person + the judge. I heard she's part Jamaican so its not a crazy idea Jamaicans having 8 jobs at once & all.
Come the f#ck on man. I'm saying the power punches have a more dramatic impact that is hard for any of the judges to miss & therefore tends to "score" more with them. So yea sure a judge seeing GGG's head get kicked back 3 times vs Canelo's only 1 in those early rounds made those rounds his. And in the last few rounds when GGG's head got kicked back 4 or 5 times & Canelo's just twice or three times or whatever then yea Canelo's lags in offense didn't punish him as much as you might think after the judges saw that.
The funny thing is I'm merely saying the fight was close & I personally had it a draw, but could understand it being 7-5 either way easy & a 8-4 card GGG way isn't unreasonable either. Your the knucklehead who seems to think this fight could have only been given to GGG. I'm the actually being the logical & reasonable cat in this discussion & you the choking on Kazakhstan nuts for whatever reason over a close f#cking fight that either guy coulda gotten the nod in if you don't have balls in your throat.
You said here 8-4 isn't unreasonable to ggg, yet you said your arguing with some knuckleheads who claim an 8-4 win, so you have 4 rounds that could go either way yet you must have swung somewhat towards ggg to say 8-4 isn't unreasonable, is that correct
opps....LOL
8-4 GGG was my score. That was being generous to Canelo. I could see 9-3 or 10-2 GGG. 10-2 Canelo is laughable.
Your post is laughable.
Don't know sh.it about boxing

MMA and Wrasslin? Really? They're major boxing observers now? SI doesn't cover boxing so they don't count either. Casuals and MMA fans that were influenced by the Lederman score card had GGG winning.
Also, the list includes Canelo's promoter, so that's not credible either.
The usual suspects that had Canelo winning did so before the fight. It could have been 120-108 and they would have said 7-5 Canelo or draw.
It was close and competitive, but also clear. Marquez-Pacquaio III would be my comparison in that Marquez clearly won, but if you score one round wrong and give the benefit of the doubt to one guy in all close rounds you get a draw. 116-112 or 115-113 for GGG.
I watched it with a lot of Mexicans and the crowd was more Canelo fans than GGG and all but one person thought GGG won and the guy that had it for Canelo was drunk as hell and claiming he scored a knockout so not sure that counts.
