Hearing a lot of people starting to pick Canelo to beat GGG this weekend.
Since 5-9-15 he's fought Kirkland, Cotto, Khan,Smith,Chavez Jr.
2 of those are glass jaw guys. 1 is a nobody.. 1 is a fat slob who stinks and 1 is a faded good fighter who spent the best years of his career at 140-147.
We talk about GGG not having that big name on his record or not being ready for what Canelo brings but what has Canelo done since the Lara fight that makes anyone think he's ready for what GGG brings based on fighting this bunch of guys the last 2 years? Before he got his face smashed in by GGG I'd pick Brook over Kirkland,Khan,Cotto, and Smith at 154.
People keep saying Canelo has gotten better, that he's learned since the Mayweather fight yet all I see is him in mismatches that make him look good. Little azz Cotto hit him all night long but couldn't hurt him because the dude was huge compared to him. Liam fking smith was putting that work on the guy in the corners but again had no power to hurt Canelo.
This dudes power is overrated, he has NEVER put out a good fighter.. NEVER... He will not KO GGG, i don't think he can even hurt him. If GGG starts landing that jab early this will be an easy fight for GGG...
That's the best part, 2 more days we find out what happens. I won't have any excuses if Canelo wins, I think he's going to have to earn every punch every round. Same with GGG...
I would like to believe people will have no excuses when Canelo wins but that was also said before the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight fight.
1. I HAVE fought before.
2. We'll just see on Saturday.
3. We'll read the excuses all night.

You've never fought before, Hatton was charging at floyd, canelo is definitely no floyd, canelo has good upper body movement with cement feet, as GGG is coming forward he will be pumping the jab into canelos line of sight, newsflash, canelo has a shorter reach, this was an exceptionally poor explaination from you to how canelo will deal with these issues

Canelo is fast enough and heavy handed. What do you think? GGG will just keep coming forward without while Canelo just doesn't throw and punches? GGG can come forward and Canelo will be dropping bombs and combos on him like Floyd was doing Hatton.

Nothing. His big improvement was more in the previous 2 years. Since then, if anything has given him a better chance it's GGG's age and decline. But that is overblown to me.
Also Canelo is making his 160lb debut and is a blown up smaller fighter. So if GGG wins don't act like a win over Canelo was that good. Also if GGG loses...
Ok, I won't give Canelo credit for any of his wins except Chavez then because he was the bigger guy every fight. Don't be a moron
With all due respect, Canelo and Joe Frazier shouldn't be put in the same sentence together.
That being said, the difference in those comparisons is all those guys fought other HEAVYWEIGHTS. Canelo has yet to fight a legit Middleweight or any Middleweight at all, but we're expected to believe he's going to outbox / hurt the bigger more experienced guy at the weight? There doesn't seem to be any reasonable logic outside of people thinking Canelo's fights against smaller opposition with bigger names will be a big experience factor for him here. I feel that's a jaded way to view this fight. It's very similar to how people viewed Tito going into the BHop fight being the younger / big puncher moving up (who mind you, had a fight at Middleweight before fighting BHop unlike Canelo who's essentially going head first) and we found out how experience at the weight can carry over. I see the same happening here (not stylistically).
names are irrelevant ,Canelo is future HoFer for sure doe ,ok so Duran beat SRL and he steped up from 140 to 147 ,and Ray was much better fighter then GGG
Nothing. For me It's his style. For others its the fact that Golovkin showed vulnerability against Jacobs. For me it's the counter punching style I see giving Golovkin problems. Golovkin's inside game is not strong either. His jab is excellent and I expect him to use it a lot. But it's not going to be easy for either one.
so what GGG have done in last 2 years to prepere ,what great counter puncher he fought? 0 ,what great fighters has Ali fought before Liston? what great movers had Frezier fought before Ali ? its irrelvant ,there is no fighter in the world who can preper you to fight other guy.

Canelo should've made his ascension to 160lbs following the Cotto fight. He didn't have to fight GGG immediately but at least get acclimated to fighting Middleweights before stepping in with the very best one. I think that's going to cost him big in this fight. Canelo's not as a elusive fighter or "slick" as he's made out to be by some which would help him against bigger fighters. Without Canelo's punches being a factor in the fight he won't be able to hold off GGG JUST off his Boxing ability.
LolJacobs was very good in that fight (which I felt he even won)...
On another hand: I guess that Canelo might drop (even KO) GGG with one of his powerful counters... But I can't see Canelo beating GGG to the punch...
Beating GGG to the punch as far as...
Jacobs is damn good. It seemed like when GGG threw 1 punch Jacobs threw 3 back a lot of times which I can see Canelo doing also because like I said o believe early...Canelo has the reflex and counter advantage. GGG can come to Canelo, that's fine but Canelo isn't gonna just let him keep coming in untouched. Canelo with be throwing punches also.

Jacobs went Southpaw though and it appeared to throw him off. Canelo won't toss him that kind of curveball. He's more by the book. Not to mention Jacobs has faster foot speed. 3G might not be able to avoid everything that's coming back, but Canelo isn't the most fleet footed either.
I really believe Jacobs is being underrated here. Even if he wasn't that good the reasoning that because Jacobs did something Canelo can isn't correct. Canelo prefers the fight to come to him and to fight at his own pace, Jacobs can go and get you.

Seems like Lemiuex barely touched GGG as GGG boxed him, Jacobs gave GGG problems. If GGG comes forward like that he's getting hit and Canelo has enough power to back him. Whether Canelo is as powerful as those guy ,who cares. We do know he's not Maliggnagi and he's got some pop. Canelo looked tired during the Liam fight but I think that was due to the weight. He went 12 rounds of non stop punching (from him) with Chavez's bum.a$$ and didn't get tired so I think his stamina is good enough. I also don't think GGG is fast enough with hand speed or reflexes to counter Canelo whereas I think Canelo is fast enough with both to counter him

Holy cow, can't believe i also missed that. That is very very telling. It's a very big deal. Despite how slow Angulo was, he was still able to get him to the ropes, just that he didn't have the ability to do anything to Canelo.
Yeah its pretty telling IMO. He began throwing a single shot at a time instead of countering back with combos. His tank can be questionable. He likes fighting at his own pace. Putting on all of that extra muscle was risky, it's not like it's gonna make him punch harder.
The issue with that is that Canelo can unload bombs and combos BUT doing so will put him in the danger zone. While it would bother other opponents who are gun shy against Canelo's power, Golovkin has taken shots from bigger men with more power. Lemieux, Jacobs and Stevens have more power than Canelo does. Plus this will be an exhausting, grueling fight for Canelo who's had stamina issues in the past.
