RETIRED boxing champ Ricky Hatton has told troubled Amir Khan he can reach out to him following his experience with depression and suicide attempts. The hard-hitting duo have been friends for over a decade and have long supported each others' fights from the other side of the ropes. Now "The Hitman" who revealed last year he attempted to kill himself several times has told the Bolton-born boxer he can reach out to him over his recent troubles. Click Here To Read More]
Just like his boxing career so goes his personal life.....he's a delusional clown and until he comes back to earth and start facing reality he's going to continue to be a delusional clown
He's going to lose half his money? Damn be more careful! Can't trust THOTS!
Good to know The Hitman is doing better. Depression is no joke and it's great to know he isn't going through that anymore. It's very tough and hard to deal with.
As for the Mayweather-Hatton fight, I was rooting for Hatton at the time and because of that I thought Cortez was bit unfair to him. Then I watched it again and again and again and realised that Floyd just outclassed/outsmarted him and defended his inside work really well. He couldn't get anything done because of Floyd's defense. Can't use breaks as an excuse when it's the punches that count.
Please stop with the Cortez excuse. Floyd was killing Hatton on the inside in that fight. Hatton should be happy Cortez broke them up. He would've gotten knocked out sooner.
Depression is a serious thing and a lot of boxers go through it
Not sure if their is a link between getting hit in the head, but Hatton has had his ups and downs, family problems, drugs, girlfriend issues, money problems
In terms of Khan, he seems to have lost his way in recent years, i hope for his sake he has the right people around him when he retires because thats when the real battle starts for boxers.
Hatton, Mike Tyson and many others have lost their way after boxing, but eventually found their way back. Fury is another one who is going through it/
I think its important boxers have something else on place after fighting, Floyd has TMT, Hatton now has his gym. I think boxers are better off staying involved in the sport in some fashion after retirement.
Spot on Frankie. My son is with a famous name at his gym , he offers my son everything with a smile on his face.I won't mention names but this is prove of happiness in the next phase. It's a really happy, buzzy , busy gym!
I wish for Khan's sake he could do a similar thing but his love of the spotlight and his crazy social media games are million miles away from this.
Khan could become a chin surgeon after boxing
Spot on Frankie .My son is with a pretty famous face at his boxing gym and although I won't give names this one time great boxer offers it all with a smile on his face .My kid loves it and they are all in a happy place.
It would be good to see Khan do this after boxing but I have serious doubts he can.
So many problems with boxers/ex-boxers: Hatton, Fury, Khan, Calzaghe, Tyson, Broner, De La Hoya, Pernell Whitaker, Sugar Ray, Aaron Pryor, Arguello, Tapia, and the list goes on, and on, and on.......
Needs to be some sort of organised self-help group these guys can go to and get help from each other.
I remember thinking at the time that Cortez was being unfair to Ricky and not letting him work inside. Having watched it again just a few weeks ago, I feel like Cortez did interrupt the flow of the fight, but more often than not Ricky's inside work was a bit dirty, he wasn't looking to fight clean just brawl, so I can see why Cortez split them so often.
