Champion - Tyson Fury
#1 - Anthony Joshua
#2 - Deontay Wilder
#3 - Kubrat Pulev
#4 - Luis Ortiz
#5 - Joseph Parker
Here are the seven situations in which a champion can lose his belt:
The Champion does not schedule a fight in any weight class for 18 months.
The Champion retires.
The Champion tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
Championship vacancies can be filled in the following two ways:
THE RING’s Nos. 1 and 2 contenders fight one another.
If the Nos. 1 and 2 contenders chose not to fight one another and either of them fights No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5, the winner may be awarded THE RING belt if the Editorial Board deems the contenders worthy.
I don't take the Ring that seriously anymore. How can I, when they have Canelo the Ring middleweight champion and the real middleweight champion GGG as the number 1 contender.Ring lost much credibility when big boxing promoter Oscar purchased the magazine. That is a big fat conflict of interest.
This is fair enough. The fight for the Ring title should probably be between AJ & Wilder, but the Bronze Bomber doesn't seem to have any inclination to fight anybody with a pulse so #1 vs #3 for the title it is.
Nobody in their right mind still thinks Fury is #1. It will be 2 years since his last fight in November. He looks retired until he shows otherwise.
Smfh they really took the lineal title from fury too, part of it is because fury speaks his mind (incorrect or not) and Joshua is a poster boy for boxing
I think you will find its for a lot more than that in particular the PED charge, the guy had one fight should not of had it anyway.
