MMA doesn't involve "boxing", it involves punching. We saw how quickly Colin or whatever his name is gassed when he tried boxing.
Boxing involves much more head movement and dynamic footwork, plus you need to shift balance properly and sit down on your punches more which tires your legs. Not to mention your arms tire out quicker when you wear heavier gloves and punch all the time.

AGAIN where is the raw data to compare. I want to see what their methodology was when they decided to make this study....
For a study to be considered legitimate it needs to be able to be scrutinized.
AGAIN where is the raw data to compare.
1) What raw data?
2) To compare what with what?
I want to see what their methodology was when they decided to make this study....
I've already explained that in my last post.
Not entirely sure what you're asking. However, if you want to disagree with the experts who are qualified at that specific field and have studied their whole life in regards to that field, then feel free to do so.
Boxing is the most dangerous sport and develops the character in a man the best.
The reason why boxing is the most dangerous is not because of the number of deaths (there are sports that are more lethal) but because there is no way you can do it seriously and not end up at least slightly brain damaged. There aren't many people who are willing to do a sport with such risk. You can look at all those other dangerous sports like motor racing but the thing is if you manage to avoid death or serious accident you can come out of those sports completely unscathed which is impossible in boxing.
Every single boxer on top level ends up with CTE, it's pretty obvious. That's why it's the most dangerous sport and only brave people can hang on.
Yeah, I love boxing, but as much as I love it I don't think I'd choose to be a fighter knowing what I know now. Every decent punch that hits a fighters head can kill brain cells....That's not a living that I would want to pursue, unless I could avoid getting hit almost 100%.
It's not a 'he' but a group of sports scientist that have PhD's in sports science. They've analysed all the sports and gave a ranking to each athletic attribute numerically to every sport with 10 being the highest / best of an athletic attribute. I understand that it isn't 100% accurate, but that's negligible and it still provides valuable information. and it's really not that hard to believe why boxing would rank top of all other sports, even without needing to look at those stats.

I fully agree with everything you're saying and said all of this verbatim. His argument was asking me what's harder to master juggling 2 balls or juggling 10, he thinks 10, 10 being MMA. To each his own, I guess.
Had an argument/debate with an MMA buddy about which sport is more difficult to master/go through on fight by fight basis and argued for boxing using this very article at some point. Buddy said MMA isnt on that list, would be at the top of that list since it requires boxing, wrestling, all at once. "How can boxing, which is just fists and footwork, be compared to the science of grappling, elbow strikes, kicks, etc..." You can use all the stats in the world, some peoples minds are set before the discussion begins.

American football is pretty bad too in terms of CTE. It's crazy, like 75-80% of all players will develop in in time or something like that. They say a lot of that happens at the youth levels too, that's where the damage starts.

Proud to be a boxing fan!
My boys all started boxing at a young age. Just this past year and a half did they start playing other sports. The training they do in boxing has given them the endurance and speed to excel at their secondary sports. All their coaches have been amazed how quick they catch on, boxings eye hand coordination has helped a lot along with reflex.

Where is the actual raw data and how did he arrive to these conclusions....
Anyone can design a spread sheet on excel and put it up on a website.
I want to see SOURCES on the data that is shown because in this day an age unless i see raw data to back up the metrics i call bull**** on it.

I box and I wrestle, I've been boxing for 4 years and wrestling all my life (dad and uncles all wrestled)
I wrestle division 1 (Oklahoma State baby!) and have 7 amateur boxing matches.
Wrestling is tough but boxing is a different beast, I tell everybody at my school that boxing is harder and now I have evidence.
Thanks for the link
No problem! Feel free to share the evidence and expose the truth.
Both wrestling and boxing are two of the oldest and most natural sport. Both are therefore two of the most prestigious sports in global sports events, especially Olympics. However, boxing requires the highest number of athletic attributes compared to any other sport.

Don't sweat him. He's one of those retards that thinks because he got slapped about in a ring it automatically makes him superior and know more about the sport than anyone else. :lol1:
Thanks for the tip / advice. That individual doesn't seem normal with their retorts. Something must've happened to cause this abnormality.
