DAVID HAYE is targetting a heavyweight mega fight with Anthony Joshua next year. before hanging up his gloves for good. Haye has not boxed since his defeat to Tony Bellew in March when he ruptured his Achilles tendon. But he is working his way back to full fitness. And, while he revealed the chances of avenging his loss to Bellew are looking slim, he reckons it will not stop him from securing a showdown with Joshua. Click Here To Read More]
The problem is, the public are going to remember his defeat to Bellew because it was quite a shock for him to lose that fight, albeit due to injury. He really has to bite the bullet, accept Bellew's demands then win the rematch. And, in a sense, ironically Bellew could be a good tune-up opponent for Haye to test out the ankle.
Haye has to think a long-term strategy which includes perhaps a much lower payday against Bellew to get a much higher payday against Joshua. If Haye can erase the memory of his loss to Bellew by KOing him in spectacular fashion, the demand for the Joshua fight, at least among the mainstream casual audience, would be through the roof.
theres no way haye's body makes it threw more than one more training camp, the mans jus to fragile to box at HW or even cruiser. Haye is a tough SOB but his body just doesnt have enough spring left in it
Whyte and brezeale are D grade journeyman. Only a moron would consider them top 10. There greatest achievement is a horrible loss to AJ. The only reason they got pushed up the ranking is to make AJs pathetic record look better.
Tell that to the ring and espn. They've only lost to the best in the division. Far too early to call them d grade journeymen. Both better than any of wilders opponents.
Hes always fighting the weakest but out of all the heavyweight champions he's beat the most top ten ranked fighters. :)

None of AJs opponents earned there place. He always fighting the weakest.

hurry up then
Haye must somehow secure a fight with the winner of Parker vs Fury. Grab that belt and then he can fight AJ.
You know that, hopefully he has a deal on in the background, probably would be best purse for fury or parker anyway unless they unify.
I'm sure WBO rules state you must have a win as your last fight to challenge for a world title, Liam Smith had to have a quick 4 rounder before his interim-title fight to get round this. Though Lomachenko's last opponent Marriaga had a loss before his title challenge so....
I wouldn't mind a couple of 4,6 or 8 rounders for him on his Dave undercards though he would never do that.
It'll be very interesting to see what he does, I was hoping at 35 when he had his comeback he would be a champion by now, but turning 37 how on earth can he win and unify the titles in time before father time says no. It already may have, I hope before he turns 38 (13 months time) he gets the Joshua fight or at least tries to do something of note, him fighting Bellew really annoyed me and karma got him for that money grab.
It will be very interesting what fights, David Haye picks in order for him to navigate his way back into title contention! (The man is a genius when it comes to promoting himself!).
Haye vs whyte would be pretty fun to watch
Wonder if haye is still suffering after a fat bellew three pieced him out the ring :headbang:
LOL@ three pieced. I like that expression.
It's funny seeing David Haye beg for the Anthony Joshua fight - Haye doesn't like Hearn too - all good drama though. Haye is shot to sh*t and I see someone putting him in A&E. He will have to risk it to order to get that BIG PAYDAY. Tony Bellew got hustled in the first fight (in terms of money), he should of asked for 50/50. Haye broke as f*ck?
'Me and AJ. the biggest fight ever on British soil'.What is this guy on? He's just been knocked out by a average career light heavyweight.....12st.7lbs...man.
The caption should read I have four rounds left and that's at a push.
This guy is friends with Amir Khan and I can see why.
He should be crying out for a rematch with Bellew because as he said there's nowhere to go until that is put right. He's forgotten ..........we've not !

Yeah coz Wladimir Klitshcko was the weakest opponent around earlier this year :nono:
