Yeah, yeah....I know it's early, but 2017 has been/is/will continue to be so great, shiiiii. I want MORE.
Here is my wish list for 2018. Feel free to add yours.
1. Wilder/AJ
2. Big Baby/Dillian Whyte
3. WBSS Season II 147 and 160 (all on Showtime)
4. Mikey and Loma
5. Undisputed 47 champ (see #3)
6. McConor fight a REAL, ACTIVE 54 fighter (just to put this to bed).
7. Tank vs Salido
8. Tank vs Farmer
9. Errol to fight at home
10. Stephen A Smith to learn and properly promote boxing.
What's on your 2018 wish list?
4 - All fights have a win & a KO bonus
7 - A more clear & concise, less subjective judging criteria to win a fight
Great list, Eff. Regarding #4 The win bonus (or lack of) is something I thought 25 years ago we would have seen by now (ugh) but the KO bonus is straight. I LOVE that!
Regarding #7, you know, I go back to a concept that is as proven as anything when it comes to judging 'fights'. The eyeball test. From elementary (behind the gym) to HS (at the park) you simply watch the fight (f*ck scoring rounds), and at the end of the fight you just say who won. I know this would never happen, but I gave up scoring fights decades ago and just use that system. It works for me anyway. Perhaps start off by having a fourth judge who, in the event of draws, overrules with his/her eyeball ruling?

Here's my semi reasonable list:
Lomachenko vs. Garcia
Spence vs. Thurman
AJ vs. Ortiz
Kovalev vs. Barrerra
Stevenson vs. Jack
Berchelt vs. Lomachenko
Garcia vs. Linares
Matthysse again
Adonis vs Jack there ya go. +1 on that one!
All I want is Wilder vs AJ and I'll be happy..
Ditto...I realize my wish list is just that, but if this fight doesn't happen, it's certainly a step backward.
p.s. Wilder is knocking out ALL heavyweights. Real sh*t.

I don't think you could ever see 10 even with a miracle.
Heh-heh, understood. I guess I'm looking out for this sport we all love and after the recent TR/ESPN deal, he was stating how his
"preference" for exposure is "NBA followed by boxing". I'm sure we all realize this man knows little if anything about boxing, however, if we want to really propel this sport then we need the support of talking heads such as himself.
Said differently, for all intents and purposes, he's gonna talk this sh*t now, so here's hoping this man at least puts some effort into educating himself while he has the mic. Boxing is such a niche community, the only opinion we respect is the educated opinion.
Nah, people were saying that in 2016 (how can it get better?).I've seen this **** play out before (I come from the 70's). I personally think boxing is on the come-up. Consider the one thing we continue to hear from cats my age: "It's like it was back in the day". In other words, PPV is played out. 0's are scrutinized. There are commitments world-wide from network stations. I personally feel we took a dip and we just bent over for a period, but now we have some old heads whom have seen both periods and recognize what works and what doesn't work. No sir, I think things are only getting better from here on out.
I hope so.. There seems to be more competition with Arum getting ESPN deal.. Shaefer doing his ringstar boxing.. Boxnation partnering with BT and ITV getting onto boxing.. All I want is Wilder vs AJ and I'll be happy.. It's the true mega international fight left to happen and it will put boxing on the headlines of all sports.. Heavyweight fights have always been the biggest and most lucrative boxing matches.
Don't be surprised if 2018 sucks because this year we just got lucky..

What's on your 2018 wish list?
Good list.. But very wishful. We've had a very good year and we've still got mega fights to look forward to like GGG v Canelo, Rigo v Loma, Wilder v Ortiz.. Man we will not have another year like this in boxing.. Don't be surprised if 2018 sucks because this year we just got lucky.. The year started off with a bang with Degale vs Jack in February.. How often do we get brilliant unification like that so early in the year?
