UFC BOSS Dana White inadvertently revealed the final pay-per-view sales for Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor and the figure is truly astonishing. Speaking candidly in a short Instagram video uploaded by UFC Hall of Fame star Urijah Faber, White could be heard in the background discussing how many buys the eagerly-anticipated showdown had managed to draw from the US public. I need confirmed numbers, not articles or taking peoples word. There's no way he made 137 Million dollars.
I want the solid numbers too. Just relaying what I read
Even in boxing, I don't think most people would care to see him again.
Of course not, it was a circus not a fight. Perfect event for normal people who just enjoy sports and aren't too much into them.
I just read in DailyMail.com that Conor made 137 million after PPV, concessions, Andre sponsorships. 358 million for Floyd. Must be. nice to be rich

If all of this is true, McGregor is probably done fighting. The UFC would have to pay him a lot more money than they're used to to keep him interested. After allegedly earning over 100m in one fight, it'd be hard to be motivated to fight again if he's going to earn less than a 10th of that.

Based on the sheer number of everyday people talking about it , I would be surprised if this thing didn't shatter the record. My girl owns a spa with an all female staff. She knows I watch boxing, 3 or 4 weeks ago apparently the girls at the spa were talking about Mayweather-McGregor. When you have groups of girls talking amongst themselves (masseuses, makeup artists, hair stylists, etc) I could just tell this thing was going to be huge.
The thing is that housewives and girlie girls don't typically pay for it.. I was on the other end of the spectrum, coming from a huge family, with lots of friends and everyone into boxing. We could care less about it, didn't even watch it, someone streamed it, but even he was watching it with a just couple friends.
80% of my people were not interested, but could be just because we're hispanics and waiting for the GGG fight.
Numbers
Usually some people in the tv network industry leaks something that points you in what direction the PPV fights are going towards.. Dana is just trying to stay positive..
My guess is that the fight didn't so well, so there will be a bunch of people swearing and saying it did something.. but showtime will not disclose numbers because it will show exactly what a disappointment this was.
Get ready for September 16th!! Real boxing fan's fight!

Especially when he could probably make another $30 mil fighting Paulie. I can see that fight doing a 1.5 mil PPV
Properly trained Paulie would probably beat him.
Seems like Connor beat him up a bit in sparring (looking at their face and demeanor) but Connor was in camp while Paulie was fat as fck untrained looking like a potatoe sack.
Meltzer is saying it did not break the record. This is all speculation at this time but there is a huge difference between 6.5 and the previous record. Dana is a liar in general so i wouldn't believe anything he says.
50 million invested wisely would support my family name for 100s of years.
Connor hit the lottery ticket, this kind of money for a few mths work is unbelievable when you consider the man in the street works himself into the grave for next to nothing, and what Floyd made could pay the national debt, just crazy .
I just read in DailyMail.com that Conor made 137 million after PPV, concessions, Andre sponsorships. 358 million for Floyd. Must be. nice to be rich
Assuming that 358 million is true, Floyd would have to earn that payday EVERY DAY (and pay no taxes) for the next 150 years to equal what the national debt is.

They both obviously hit the lottery though.
What happened to all those people streaming the fight and saying it would flop? They've mysteriously disappeared.
The fight was being discussed on CNBC; the hype went world's beyond sports, and the numbers will likely reflect that.
You add that the total streams count didn't even get to 300 streams (with the number of actual folks streaming likely jumbled by the fact that folks were likely hopping between multiple streams to find a decent one) and it's pretty clear that the hardcore streaming audience is nowhere near as big as folks here want to think.
Was on my way out to my usual bar, and got a text from a friend (who has near no interest in boxing) that he was hosting a PPV party.
The hype was real

they all bought it when their stream started skipping after mcgregor won a few rounds thinking oh my god maybe floyd will actually lose. now they all asking for a refund
