Guys listen please,
Floyd was laughing from the face off and during the rounds throughout the fight.
Floyd Sr. was like "you done yet?" in between rounds and wasn't telling him any instructions.
Floyd wasn't even throwing real punches. McGregor gasses ultra fast and even Floyd said himself right before the fight and in the pre-hype that the fight wasn't going to distance.
McGregor sold the fcuk out of the fight even up until they cut the csamera's off. The entire thing was fake.
They put tons of asses in seats, sold metric tons of PPV's, hotels, casinos sold 7 figure bets which is a first in history!!!
The list goes on and on.
I'm pretty disappointed actually that even myself got duped.
It was fake, staged, set up and each and every single one of us fell for it.
Okay, the top post is about the best assessment of the fight I've read so far. It was glorified sparring. Floyd was clowning him all night. Floyd to me is not one of the greatest boxers of all time...but he IS the greatest boxing GENIUS. What is the difference? I can't label Floyd as one of the greatest boxers because he avoided marquee clashes. But where his boxing IQ is concerned, there was none better. He knew there was nothing about Conor that would bother him. The fight was a joke. Floyd played with all of you.
Who did he avoid?

Just taking a break, man.
Same here, I just came back for this fight.

Fine by me. I'm glad Floyd is 50-0. Marciano can fück off now.
Yep 100% fake. It was rigged. Weak ass arm punching . Actually disappointed with most of the comments here on boxing scene forum. Thought that a lot of people here actually were fellow boxers and could see through this ****. But funny how many see this as a legit fight. Mac allowed to save face with May winning in end. Did May actually throw any punches in 1st few rounds? May was literally walking forward, no boxing footwork. Even my non boxing mates saw that there was something not right. 100% rigged. Mac, although a crap boxer can easily hit harder than what he was doing. May's punches on his cash cow were like that of a loving mum scolding her child.

Yeah I agree Mayweather carried the fight.
I don't know if "faked" is the right word because I think McGregor was genuinely trying.
Here's my reasons:
1. There's no way he'd let it become a fight like the Pacquiao fight, and anger all the fans and PPV buyers. Mayweather said himself that he owes the fans a good fight. Based on that alone we could predict that Floyd won't end the fight early on.
2. Is this a fake punch?!?

Looks to me like McGregor is wide open, Floyd goes for the face or chin with the straight right, but drops his hand at the last moment to miss. I'm surprised the commentators didn't notice.
Totally a fake punch. Floyd would NEVER EVER miss that punch. They were laughing the whole time and you know Floyd Sr would have been going ape**** if this was real in between rounds.
I think McGregor was in on it completely. Well played right until the end.

I agree, fake fight. Floyd should have fought a real fighter and not this MMA dry humper.
Floyd is shot though and he's been shot. Wasn't it obvious in the Berto fight? Two years later isn't going to make him unshot namsayin?
This is an amazing thread.
I thought it was going to be Floyd against a top skilled boxer, and can't believe it. The OP has an amazing insight, and should be highly commended for pointing out what no one else saw or suspected.
Well done you.
I remember you from the old days here. Where you been hiding man?
So, well done to Conor for the showing he gave. He's a novice boxer, in with one of the best ever, he did remarkably well. Definitely could have been a top, top boxer if he'd stayed training for it as a youngster. What other MMA guy would have had the balls or the name to get in a ring with Floyd. He earned that.
And well done to Floyd for hitting 50-0 and making 100 million for basically a sparring session. I mean, he's laughing all the way to the bank tonight and you kind of have to admire it.
At the end of the day the win counts and Conor is as legit as some of Marciano's fights. Marciano had a win over a boxer with no pro experience and that boxer retired 0-1. Sounds legit as Conor's 0-1 record at this point.
Now that a new day has dawned its funny to see the MMATARDS repeating what Conor said how they ref should have let it go and blah blah blibiddy.
The koolaid is strong with them!

I don't disagree. Duping me isn't easy. Well played, bastards@
There's two aspects to this. I was calling it from the second round.
Floyd was playing with him, there's no disputing that, even though Conor's range and size made it a little difficult for him.
Floyd knew if he fought this fight as he usually does it would have been over in 3 or 4, so he just walked Conor down.
I mean did Floyd throw a left hook in the first 4 rounds? No. It was sparring, for all intents and purposes for him, and fair play to Conor that he made him eat some nice shots while coming on in the early rounds. That counter uppercut off Floyd's lead right I could watch all day, never saw him eat that before. So there's the second aspect - Conor was better than any of us thought. The jab was very good. He was slipping Floyd's punches better than most who've faced him. The counter punches were sharp and accurate. His power obviously is overrated. His stamina was pathetic. He gassed during the 4th round. If he had a full 12 in the tank it could genuinely been a close fight since the ref let Conor tie up a lot and control the fight that way.
It was a show for the fans, for the last fight, and went as Floyd wanted it to.
