This whole fight is a clear indication that he is losing ground to his own fighters. This could all spell disaster for Dana White, no matter if Conor wins or loses. In some ways Dana Whites biggest rival is Conor.
How many other fighters, have become interested in the lucrative ways of boxing? Time will tell...
If it wasn't for Conor's charisma and Mayweather's status in boxing no one would be interested. No way is Dana bothered about other UFC fighters taking the same route. After this fight, it's back to business as usual. BTW, I think the fight will be a dud, a boring 12 round decision - Conor has a beard and Mayweather is not a finisher, never has been.
you guys are crackheads
he's making a ****load off of this and was the one who made it happen
He's making exactly 9% of whatever UFC's cut is so you're the fcuking crackhead.
Even the 9% is conjecture cuz Dana owns 9% of UFC. He could very well me making zilch off this fight.
After the recent sell they forced Dana into a 5-year contract which is pretty standard for someone in his position after a big acquisition.
He might be trying to tank UFC to get fired for all we know.

And if Conor wins and creates his own new brand. Besides he already has his McGregor entertainment. McGregor is Dana's biggest rival.
If Conor beats Floyd, the conversation changes even more; gone would be the days of Conor even worrying all that much about day-of purses. Conor a minimal purse on the front end, his sponsors/bonus money, and he'll likely end up with ownership of the shows that he fights on (30/70 on every PPV dollar that comes in would be a good place to start.
Conor creating his own MMA promotion is a fool's errand.
you guys are crackheads
dana white doesnt care about mma vs boxing (he spent the first part of his career as a boxing manager)
he cares about making money and he's making a ****load off of this and was the one who made it happen
boxing vs mma is a teenage boy thing
Yeah he don't care about UFC anymore, because he has enough money. :pat::pat::pat:
Ofcourse he does, he is praying that Floyd wins easily. That would be the best for Dana.
Conor's the only fighter who does the amount of business needed to get the UFC to bend, so I doubt that Dana White has any real worry; pull McGregor and the only fighter that the UFC has who can draw even 700k PPV buys is Jon "Bones" Jones.
Dana White's only worry, in my opinion anyway, is the Mayweather-McGregor turns into Gatti-Mayweather (in that Floyd comes out razor sharp, McGregor barely lays a hand on him, and we see an utter one-sided beating where his corner saves him in 4 rounds).
Anything outside of that, the UFC can work with and move on.

Dana White already got paid during the sale. He's not dependent on the UFC anymore.
I think the new owners of the UFC are the biggest losers in all of this.
This fight is about Conor cashing out and Dana White having an ego trip and wanting to be part of what he thinks is "the biggest fight ever", that's why he's sitting there at every single press conference.
From a business standpoint this fight isn't good for the UFC.

just because other fighters in mma/ufc might be interested in boxing, it doesnt mean that it will do well. not everyone has the character of conor so no this wont hurt dana.
Perhaps this in particular won't stand to become a bigger problem than what it is, but looking at it from the outside. Conor is sitting at the media presser today, next to Dana white, saying that he will build his own empire, start his own thing. That in itself is trouble, simply because of the example he is setting up. White is praying that this will pay off, but it could fuel something much more important.
Dana doesn't have to let every one of his fighters go and have a boxing match with someone if he doesn't want them to either. MayMac is an obvious exception because of the $$$$$ to be made + the talent of the individuals involved. It may not be worth the headache with most other fighters.
This is true. Secretly Dana's gotta be rooting for Floyd to completely wreck him so that he runs back to the UFC and never even tries to do boxing ever again.
