People always seem to equate speed and pop with skill and talent.
People are like "But broner has the talent to be the best if he just focused right."
His speed and pop don't equate to skill and talent in the same way that Andre Berto's speed and power don't equate to skill and talent.
Broners game has always severely lacking in nuance. People seem to see people with hand speed standing in the same posture as Floyd and assume they are skilled.
Floyd has the ability to see what you are planning, what you are trying to set up, and position himself accordingly.
He also has the ability to see how you are trying to solve him, what openings you are trying to exploit and then pick and choose when to expose that opening, because he knows you will try and capitalize on it. But you just walked into a trap, because he did that to draw a punch out of you that he can counter.
Floyd's game is nuanced. Its skillful and he is talented.
Thats what skill and talent is.
Broner is not capable of thinking on that level inside the ring. He has always been in 1 of two modes, stand infront of you and throw set combinations, or he sits back and wait to try and counter you without laying traps.
i'm not sure you understand what talent is.
Acknowledging he needs to change everything is a start. Seeing that through is going to be very hard. Stop trying to be a celebrity and thin the entourage to no more than ten. Including cornermen and family, at all times. If he hasn't been humbled and can't knuckle down by now then he never will. The problem in America is everyone wants to be like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and be with Al Haymon. He needs to up his volume punching and improve his stamina. His style would be effective at all levels with more direction from a respected trainer and more effort from himself.
AB just wants sympathy. he is going to fight another c-level fighter struggle like he did against granados and taylosr and then try and get a big money fight again. rinse-wash and repeat. AB is finished.
I think Broner should try his best to get Naseem Richardson to be his trainer. When Naseem and Shane were together they were pretty damn effective. He is also a more offensive trainer than Virgil Hunter or Floyd Sr in my opinion.
That wouldn't be bad either. Also wouldn't take his shlt
I feel for PAC, poor Pinoy wasn't ready for a sheister like arum.
You feel sorry for a man who is being fast tracked as a future president of his country?
LOL at you people. Their is more to life then boxing.

broner is barely letting his hands go right now, making him more defensive will be worst. he lost his confidence along the way, he needs to gain that back. turning him more into a defensive fighter will just be worst for him. he needs to learn how to set up his punches so that he can be more comfortable letting his hands go.
It is not defensive. Remember Floyd is only defensive because his hands became brittle. He was more of a combination puncher, but the beauty of what he did was that he was fluid with defence and offence. Broner would learn how to be fluid like a younger Floyd. It is how to use the style if effectively. How to counter effectively from the different angles. Remember those pad works Floyd and Roger used to do? Those pad works is about muscle memory, allowing you to counter punch instinctively. Broner is too slow to pull the trigger many times because his instinct is not there for the style he is trying to used.
dude is not that good!
i can't stand the excuses his fans come up with is f#cking infuriating. are you all his promotors? his dad who brushes his hair?
stop feeding into the idea that this guy is better than his performances indicate! he's not! maidana whooped that ass. shawn porter outworked him. garcia outboxed him. what's left for you guys to need to see? he can be beat up, outworked, and outboxed. where is this talent you talk about? where? i'm not even talking about intangibles at this stage i'm talking about talent. where's the gas tank of an elite athlete with elite o2 production? where's the finishing power to put maidana or porter away when they were both hurt? where was the polish to outbox those two limited fighters? and when he got a similar stylist in front of him, and a true technician in mikey garcia, where was the boxing skill to beat a smaller man at his own game?
rant over. i'm glad broner seems more dedicated, is getting rid of the leeches, is turning his life around, but stop it with this "if he only threw more punches nonsense." if he threw more punches he'd tire out and he knows it. he'd have eaten more clean punches from garcia. the guy just isn't t hat f#cking good.

can we stop bringing up the mayweathers as if they're some great trainers. floyd is gifted in itself and would prolly be where he's at today with or without sr or roger in his corner. just going off what we see in these training videos, sr and roger seem hella lazy. if floyd wasnt where he's at today, nobody would even talk about sr and roger.
No, he would not. Everything he's learned he learned it from them. Learn to give credit where credit is due. They may not have been successful with other fighters, but they sure as hell is responsible for Floyd's success. Look at Roger and Senior days as fighters, and look at the way Jr fights. He combines both their style to make his. Of course, he talented, but talent is always 5% of the story. Many talented people are underachievers. Roger slowed down when he became ill, hence why Floyd brought back in Sr.
Sr has talked trash about mike Staford and broner. Plus broner doesn't need to be in the may boxing club environment. Teddy is a no nonsense guy which is what he needs
At this point Teddy can't teach what Broner needs to learn. Broner needs confidence in the ring and someone he will listen too. The style of fight he wants to fight is the Mayweathers' speciality. Mayweathes basically talk sh*t about any boxers that is not under their tutelage. He used to do the same to Hatton, but then turn around and trained him, so you can't watch that. He will not fit with Teddy. Teddy needs guys who are novice, who are just learning the game. The Mayweathers will fine tune Broner's style of fighting and he develop confidence in using it.
No. Not good fit. I think he should train with one of the Mayweathers, seeing how much he loves Floyd and i want to be like him. Being with the Mayweathers would probably give him more confidence, and he would also listen to what they say, because he will trust them more being how they groomed his idol.

true, he should get with atlas though, he wont take any of ab's shlt and maybe will get him to atleast stop trying to look cute in the ring and actually fight
