A few people think he's p4p #1 already (i know it's a purely personal subjective concept) but for me it's about resume too (you have to beat the best to be the best) skill wise sure, he's got it! But he's yet to unify, yet to beat a fellow p4per, yet to really break through! It's too early!
He's fighting incredible opposition for a guy with 10 fight's & i am a huge fan. But i have high standard's for him & rightly so.. He says his goal is to be the best! So prove it!
Has to be Ward right now. If triple G beat's Canelo then he's a lock for top three IMO Garcia right now is higher too... Loma beats Rigondeaux then we can talk! Make the fight Bob! The Marriagas & Salidos aren't going to get him there. I'd even be happy with Berchelt... It's a big step in the fight direction!
He's for sure not #1, but he's somewhere in the top 10 for me. Just what he was able to do against Walters was magical stuff. Add to that, first fighter ever to beat Gary Russell Jr, another super promising fighter that wasn't as great as Loma, and beating Martinez is some serious accomplishments.
And obviously the talent is there. But I still think Mikey whoops that ass if he moves up and fights him. And Rigo is gonna be a super tough test. If he beats Rigo the same way he beats everyone else, regardless of weight, you can very easily call him the most skilled and talented man in boxing, today.
Pound for pound is just personal opinion and not fact so everybody's list is 100 percent correct for them. It's not resume it's how good you think a boxer is for his weight right now. Fights a guy had years ago shouldn't mean much. Fights he had within a year or so are more important. You don't put Loma in the top 10 pfp so that's right for you. I think Loma is the best pfp and lots of others do too. I could care less who doesn't like me putting him number 1. It's my list and I'll put him where I think he belongs. He can't fight Ward and they have no common opponents. It's my belief that if Loma were as good as he is today and a natural light heavyweight he would beat Ward.
