Dont know how to score mma, but just from what i saw Rounds 1-2 Conner beat him down and last like 30 seconds Nate put in on him but a lot missed or were soft slappy punches. Round 3 Conner looked like his gas tank was out and it looked like he was about to go the same way the first fight did. round 4 he caught second wind, and i see some say round 3 and 5 was clear Nate rounds but round 5 was a toss up also but only gave it to Nate because in the final seconds he got a take down.
I thought Conor won 3 rounds...but it was closely contested. That was MMA...you can't really compare it to a boxing match for so many reasons but he was able to drop Diaz a few times who is much bigger than Floyd. Hopefully Conor has improved his stamina quite a bit otherwise he will have lots of problems...if he did and gets lucky maybe he can hurt Floyd and take advantage of it...that's his long-shot chance.
The lie that McGregor is the hardest puncher Floyd has faced needs to stop. His hand speed isn't impressive either. Nevermind his complete lack of a jab and no understanding of how to control range
I thought it could have gone either way, i thought Conor edged it 3-2 but i only watched it live at the time.
Diaz cuts if you blow on him, so using how messed up he look is useless, a bit like Gabe Rosado.
Conor took a beating in that fight too.
I don't really know how to score that sport but I felt Nate got the better of him
Good point. I wouldn't expect a UFC fan to be able to score a boxing bout accurately, or to even know what to look out for; the same is true in reverse
I've watched quite a lot of UFC but I don't really know what the scoring-criteria are tbh
For anybody that thinks Conor's movement and unorthodox punches that he uses in MMA will work are foolish and missing the most obvious points. If he wants to land a shot, he needs to get into boxing range, simple as that. There's no kicking to keep your distance and there's no worry of being taken down or anything like that.
In a boxing match, if you want to set up shots, get your range, distance, timing, land your shots etc. then you simply need to be at boxing range using boxing skills and basically Conor has very little of that.
He can use all the capoeira movement or whatever else he wants, it won't make a bit of difference if he wants to land anything, he'll just be expending energy for no reason.

This is BOXING. Real fighting with real punching. :bottle:
ok?
whats that supposed to prove?
was asked why Conor is different and I explained why. super man punches is definitely an example of something that you dont see in boxing.
conor is even training with superman punches

I keep seeing this nonsense about how "different' Conor is than anything Floyd has seen.
Tell me, all the times Conor has fought anyone like Floyd Mayweather?
Conor is going to take an absolute beating.
Conor is used to eating the loopy love taps of MMA. Now he's fighting someone with proper punch technique. He best take his falling down lessons right now. Can't tap when your unconscious. McTapOut. "peeleft:

i explained some of my reasonings in here on what makes Conor different:
https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=755223
conor is even training with superman punches (fake kick, throw punch) in his sparring for Floyd apparently. theres pics of it. that means he may possibly fake kicks to throw Floyd off guard. so many different factors that Floyd wont know what to expect. the fans wont know either. and you know the videos conor puts out are not the stuff hes working on behind the scenes
all that coupled with the fact that Conor is gonna one of if not the biggest and longest fighters Floyds faced. as well as the hardest puncher. also that wide mma karate style stance.
like i said, Floyd will have to adapt in real time without getting KOd. he will be safe if he survives the first 2 or 3 rounds and is able to figure out how Conor moves, then it should become easier for him.
but in within those first two or three rounds i am very confident Conor will KO him
dont be surprised if Conor puts his hands down or behind his back, starts talking sh1t, just to play with Floyds mind mid fight. hes crazy enough to do it because he does it in most of his fights. and hes not scared of Floyd
Had Conor.winning 3-2 both times I watched it. It was close though.
It's funny how fast people forget that Conor was a few leg kicks away from losing 2 fights in a row.

Conor is different, floyd never seen anything like that. But floyd and actual elite boxers conor has seen plenty of. Supposedly, somehow.
Even without the 3 knockdowns, McGregor comprehensively outboxed him in rounds 1,2 & 4.
Diaz has retired since that bout and for good reason.

not an alt, just signed up here because im confident conor will win and i wanted to broadcast it so that i could be right in the end and laugh at everyone. (this is actually my true reasoning because im confident he will win)
it is a different game, and conor is a different puzzle. he moves different. he punches different. his stance is different. everything is different. thats what ive been trying to say. Conor is a challenge unlike Floyd anythings ever had to solve before.
Floyd is older, inactive, will have to adapt in real time during the fight and survive whatever Conor throws at him long enough to adapt...the pressure will all be on floyd.

Go back to your cave bum. Your insecurities will destroy you August 26th. I will make sure you remember that night.
Serious questions:
1) Are you an alt?
2) What is your background?
It seems like YDKSAB, or else you are trolling. Many posters here have been involved with boxing in some way for significant periods of time and have seen, time and again, 'chancers' get put on their backs. As a personal example, there was an Olympian martial artist started turning up to my gym some time ago... Absolutely sh*te boxer! As another example, the difference between amateurs with varying levels of experience is huge: in UK competition, 10 fights are different classes for a good reason.
Conor being a UFC champion has about as much relevance as the guy who walks into the gym saying, "I crack heads in the street all the time..." - makes no difference. It's a whole other game. Honestly, I've seen better "sparring" from 10-yr old kids than anything I've seen from Conor, it's embarassing.
I'm enjoying the crossover aspect in that I hope this circus will win over some new fans for boxing, and earn people's respect for the sport. I'm also enjoying buying into the 'hype'... semi-believing that Conor can pull it off... but really, this whole event is an exhibition. Let's not kid ourselves

Whats your point? You are wrong anyway. Nate still lost and Conor still won easily outboxed him and the majority of the people disagree with you.
Nate is also 6'0'', walks at 200lbs and has a 76 inch reach. how is this comparable to Floyd?
Regardless, he is a 155lber. He got manhandled and made to look like a kid at 170lbs and even at 155lbs by others. Conor made Nate look like Sugar Ray lmao. He's got that gangly, skinny-fat kind of physique. He's tall but he hasn't got a strong frame. Look at GSP, he's 5ft10 but solid as they come at 170.
