Just saw it on Floyd's Instagram. So no more excuses from Conor's camp.
Also, wtf is up with this myth that boxing gloves are pillows? Has anyone ever been hit with boxing gloves, or hit a bag with boxing gloves. You can hit 10x harder with boxing gloves, thus rattling your brain even more, and causing way more damage than with bare knuckles, and your wrist bending and flexing too much, so there's more give on the impact of the strike.
Hell, even bigger boxing gloves hurt like hell. And a brand new pair of boxing gloves are hard as hell.
I think the NSA still has to meet on it this week, I think its wednesday. They said they are considering it. I dont think its approved yet.
IDK why conor and conor fans are making a big deal about it... as non boxing fans they dont realize that floyd only fought 3 times above welter and that he has fought with 8 oz gloves 46 times in his career.
He fought maidana twice in 8oz gloves, maidana weighing 165 fight night to maywweathers 148. Conor will have 5 pounds, maybe on maidanas size and no where near the power or experience.
Mosley was wearing 8 oz gloves when he landed his best shot, twice, on mayweather.
Conor aint knocking out chit.
There is not a lot of difference its personal preference as to how they feel good on your hand, I couldnt feel a difference getting hit by the same guy using the two types.
The glove itself means nothing. who is wearing them means everything, if it was some big advantage everyone would use the same glove.
Fans blow this sht way out of proportion, they look for any reason for defeat other than one guy was better.
I've been hit with both and I'm with Floyd, much rather be hit with foam than horse hair, big difference in absorbsion
Let's see larry, would you rather be hit by 10oz foam gloves or 10oz horse hair gloves larry, the people exposing their ignorance are the ones who think gloves are gloves

Props to Floyd if it's true. I guess he wants to erase the negative press he got for the Maidana glove fiasco.
We know Conor has power, dude can hit. 8 oz instead of 10 only helps him. But of course you have a guy that's 49-0 facing someone in their pro debut, so there's that.
Yep, the fact that it protects your knuckles and your wrist is stabilized by the wraps allows you to swing harder without hurting your hands..people have no idea the reason boxers use gloves

Haven't voted yet but they will likely approve it. Mayweather runs boxing in Nevada they give him whatever the fuk he wants because he generates so much :nonono:
I actually made a thread about that. I bet you anything, after floyd disposes of him like a used condom, he'll get on the mic and challenge him to an mma match.
He already said it in the press tour bro.
Only idiots would think he has a good shot at winning. It's like if Floyd were to fight him in the octagon he would get murked
I bet they cry that he needs to rematch in the octogon or something like that

I am glad they are using 8 ounce gloves. They used to use 8 ounce gloves even for heavyweight fights. I have boxed, sparred and been in a few street fights with no gloves. You can be hurt or knocked out with any weight of glove even 14 to 20 ounce sparring gloves. I believe the lighter the glove the harder the punch you can deliver. You can punch harder with no gloves than with MMA 4 ounce gloves. You can't punch as hard with the 8 ounce gloves as with the 4 ounce gloves and that's obvious by how many knock downs and KOs they have in MMA from punches that don't look that hard. Both Mayweather and Conor will hit a little harder with 8 ounce gloves that with 10 ounce gloves. It won't make a big difference but their punches will be harder with less padding softening the blow. That's why they use the 16 ounce gloves in sparring.
Yeah, but there's a good story line to this, and I can't wait to see the comments from Conor fans after he gets TOSSED UP in the ring.

Fixed that for you. And I agree.
You know what's funny? I bet you anything Conor's on PEDs as we speak. Yet none of his fans ever acknowledge the possibility of him being a PED user. Are you kidding me?
Superficial damage includes getting KTFO doe.
Brain damage is occurring in boxing more than in other combat sports (most notably MMA) because of the volume of punches guys are taking not because of the glove. Everyone's brain is a huge p#ssy that is getting f#cked up by being shaken around the skull even from jabs & lesser punches. Its not good for the brain to get hit at all is the thing I think many people are in denial about.
Haha, funny line about brains being pussis. I agree for the most part, but I still think boxing gloves actually create greater damage upon impact compared to bare knuckles.
16 oz gloves hurt, so do 14,12,10, and 8. It's all about more stability to your wrists and hands. I don't think it'll make much difference if it's 10 or 8 oz. somebody's a$$ is getting taxed. Period
10x harder huh lol???? That is not close to being true.
I believe the brain damage from getting hit in the head would be similar all things being equal, but the boxing gloves allow for more punishment to the brain due to the protection of the hands those gloves give making boxing gloves more dangerous.
The less glove there is the more superficial damage one will have as there is more force hitting a smaller area thus more skin & orbital bones get broken + the ability to hit that sweet spot & turn off the lights is greatly enhanced.
Keyword, superficial damage. And I was exaggerating.
People who say 10oz or even 16oz glove is a pillow has clearly never actually been in a boxing gym, sparred or fought.
Calling them pillows is just a figure of speech and people who have no experience take it literally. Get cracked in the face by someone wearing 16oz gloves and it'll still do some damage.
It may increase ppv sales too because people think mcgregor has power
True. And let's be real. His brain won't allow him to extend his punches with maximum power, because he's gonna second guess everything, because of the upper body and head movement of Floyd, and the laser beams coming back at every mistake he makes.
