With Klitschko (officialy) and Floyd (unofficialy) retired and Pacquiao becoming the second RJJ, I think it's safe to say that this era is officialy over.
What will you miss about it? What will you not? Will the next era be better? Are you looking forward to it?

I won't miss the era that much. As far as I'm concerned this era ended 2015ish. That's the last time any of these fighters were considered truly entertaining, great fighters. What do we call this era? PBC/TR era?
Him being the best Puerto Rican of this era doesn't make him great. Neither does his drawing power.
You're entitled to your opinion, though.
True we all have opinions.
Are guys like Wilfred Benitez, Wilfredo Gomez, Hector Camacho, Felix Trinidad not considered great fighters from their era?
Cotto's biggest fights were:
Judah
Mosley
Margarito 2x
Pacquiao
Mayweather
Martinez
Canelo
He compares to guys like Benitez, Gomez, Camacho, Trinidad.
Those guys were considered greats in their era. I see posters mentioning Cotto as well.
Cotto is going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
But I understand and know a lot of people have different opinions and views. Understood.
I do, I consider Cotto as one of the greats of that era. He was the 3rd highest ppv draw and he is the last great Puerto Rican fighter from Puerto Rico. Cotto was not dominant as the 3 you mentioned this is true, but being the last great Puerto Rican fighter and the history and lineage that holds makes him important to that era. This is important when considering the history of boxing and the lineage of great Puerto Rican fighters. Couple that with no one on the horizon to take his place as the next great Puerto Rican fighter. He too will be missed and linked to that era as one of the best. Not the best, but one of the best.

Yeah but I don't consider him as one of the greats of this era. He was popular and entertaining but never dominant like the 3 I've mentioned in the OP.

I think the future is looking bright. There's a lot of talent in every weight region and every geographical region and this year has been a huge step in the right direction in terms of competitive match-making
Looks like it's going to be Mayweather, Pacquiao, Klitschko, Cotto and Bradley.
It could potentially be these 5 who all will be reitred by the time the years end gets here.
Happens in every era. At least the Heavyweights are back again now.
Luckily De La Hoya, Mayweather and Pacquiao carried the sport during the boring Klitschko era. Now the Heavyweights are back on the map. Perfect timing for these guys to retire.
Yeah I made a similar thread when smith knocked Hopkins out the ring
It's a new generation
Atleast Klitschko retired on a fairly good note
Next up
Canelo Ends Golovkin short Era
Been a great time to be a boxing fan
LONG LIVE THE SPORT OF KINGS!!!!!!!
Mayweather has been retired for a while so hopefully people are over it by now.
It was tough watching Pacquiao against Horn. He was all over the place.. Looked unsure of himself. He needs to retire.
I've never liked Klitschko but he accounted for himself very well against Joshua. I won't miss his boring a$$ fights though.
I'll miss watching Mayweather and Pacquiao to a lesser extent but not Klitschko. All three had a great run.

Pacquiao is far from the next RJJ and sadly, both he and Mayweather have become a walking punchline. They put on a sham in 2015, and whereas Pac actually fought Bradley and Vargas, Mayweather had one of the worst, most boring nights of boxing against Berto and is about to have another one against McGregor.
Wlad on the other hand retains his respectability and honour. He goes out as a revered figure, not some pin up for the stupidity and madness of this sport.
Looks like cotto is gonna retire as well.

None of these current Heavyweight will have a dominant career like Vlad.. AJ might just pull it off doe, he's gonna be the face of boxing going forward.
None of the current guys at WW will be half as big or popular stars as Mayweather or Pacquiao were. Those 2 made WW the money division.. WW is stacked with great fighters but it's no longer the money division. HW will be back on top like it always was before Mayweather and Pacquiao.
End of an era indeed. Those were dominant guys I grew up watching.
It's a new era.. New champions, we'll see 10 years down the line which one of the current champs is still on top.
