Mike Stafford is terrible, just god awful. Doesn't do mits properly thats for damn sure.
I think Teddy Atlas would be a great trainer for Adrien. Who do you guys think would be ideal. He needs to Throw more fuggin punches
...needs a new trainer? What a dumb statement.
Mike Stafford is a very good trainer and every trainer that knows him will tell you that!!
Here is what Broner needs to do and it was the FIRST thing he and every other fighter learn in preparation for their first fight!!
............................Be FIRST!!!!!!!.....................
It's exactly what Mickey did and exactly the most important concept that every fighter uses to WIN!!!!!!
Adrian refuses to do it. Stafford tells him everything he needs to do but he doesn't respond. I don't know him personally but I believe that Mickey made a solid impression those first 6 rounds. Adrian won the first because Garcia sat back and studied distance and foot speed. After that Mickey was "first"
90% of the bout. When Adrian came on in the last few rounds
he got to Mickey being first and his left hook shook Mickey up a little bit.
Fighters can be very stubborn people but thats not Mike Stafford's fault.

It either comes down to Broner not being as strong mentally as he would like many to believe or him not being all that smart, I honestly can't understand why he fails to see that he's so much better when he decides to apply pressure, how does a fighter struggle to see his own success in the ring? Is it stupidity or is he mentally weak, I struggle to see what it may be.
For as far and in between as it was, Broner landed some really solid shots when he decided to press the action and rather than add to it, he decides to go back to his shitty boxing and shaking his head when he's clearly being outclassed.
That seems like a terrible fit. Broner is not Mayweather, and trying to be "cute" didn't work for him at all. I'd say Broner would be better with an offensive minded trainer like Freddie Roach.
Broner wasn't badly hurt by Garcia's punches, and had he best rounds at the end of the fight when he threw caution to the win. Had he come out from the opening bell moving forward and looking to do damage we might have had a different fight.
Last night reminded me of Guerrero-Berto..... stop pretending you're slick and get to work.
^This.
You should print this on a bunch of workout gear, and send it to those boxers who are the biggest culprits.
I don't think you can train a fighter to throw more punches. That's all on Broner. He's either lazy, doesn't have the stamina or his speed and power only works in spurts. I think he concentrates more on looking flashy by being fast and hitting hard and you'd have to do that in spurts. I'd like to see him get a new trainer just to see, but I have a feeling Broner will always be Broner.
Too late. Broner is what he is at this point. I always believe you fight how you train.
When I watch Broner hitting the pads or bag, he stands in one spot throwing flashy punches that won't even work when you have a world class fighter in front of you.
Yeah it's good for hand eye coordination and reflexes but you have to work on your fundamentals more because you can always fall back on that.
What was it someone said the other day on here he's a modern day Zab Judah? Spot on.
I mentioned that in a few posts.
All flash in the pan, all style no real substance.
To be honest, Zab is better.
Broners style is awful for his composition. He tries to pick his punches and counterpunch. He's not a Mayweather type. He doesn't have the long arms, super fast hand speed and quick reflexes.
He should he be trying to bully and brawl with his opponents. I really feel like he's afraid to get punched and that's why he never let's his hands go.
He doesn't need a new trainer this is what he is 3 times a charm he's nothing special he's reached his ceiling. This is like Bradley switching to atlas it makes no difference against top guys.
A new trainer is not going to change his heart. He easily cracks under pressure and is afraid of getting knocked out by his opponent. He doesn't like throwing punches because he's afraid of getting hurt. A new trainer can't change his mentality.
A new trainer can't fight for him. He never throws enough for what ever reason. Can't counter it's either offense or defense and at this point you can't really teach an old dog new tricks.
Guys like Broner, where it is clear they don't throw because they are afraid of gassing early or expending energy they think they need, need a trainer that can get them into shape on another level.
I been saying this for years and no one takes me seriously.
There are a slew of fighters who could benefit from the techniques that Ann Wolfe and Pops Billingsley use.
Time for Ann to get paid big for something other than cameos in Wonder Woman movies

I'd take Zab Judah over Broner anyday. Broner doesn't even have a Cory Spinks level win
Definitely. He had no offensive weapons other than a left hook.
People are saying "throw more punches" I say "throw what punches??" All he has is a hook. He has one of the worst offensive arsenals in boxing. His jab has no timing and falls short, his combos are repetitive, telegraphed and hit gloves.
He needed a new trainer a long time ago. He has no identity as a fighter and does nothing well. The little success he's had is from his natural speed, power and size against smaller opponents.
Could not have said it better.
I've been saying that for years. Robert easter is looking more and more like broner these days in the ring. The style is too slow paced. But idk if a trainer will change ab from being a bone head. He cares more about looking good than being good

Type of guy who no doubt looks tremendous in sparring/training but under the lights he just doesn't produce.
I think there is a bit of an identity crisis going on. He just tries too much to be something he isn't. Moving, feinting, trying to draw leads, everything thrown at the same speed - when he isn't a counterpuncher IMO certainly not a very good one. He just p1sses rounds away doing this. There is so much going on yet worryingly there is nothing going on at the same time because he's completely ineffective with it.
I think he does his best work when he's on the front foot and letting his damn hands go. He's best when he is walking guys down and putting combinations together.
