Always talks smack, never backs it up. Tries to fight like floyd but doesnt have anywhere near the level of skill, hes like a great value floyd bootleg.
Hes just such a gimmick man. Has no fight iq, overrated hand speed and punching power. Terrible defense as well. He only ever got so much hype because he talks chit, in the ring he never beat anyone of note.
I cant believe some actually thought this dude was going to be fighter of the decade.
His real record should read about 28-6-2. He has never been a true World champion, having been gifted paper titles on numerous occasions. Adrien Broner being a four-weight champion goes to show how little value "World" titles hold these days. He should have stayed at Lightweight and took the time to perfect his craft. Doesn't have the discipline or the heart for it though.
If you look at his list of world champions faces in victory. Almost all of them are fights he should have lost, but was gifted.
That Demarco fight had a lot of people getting ahead of themselves. I admit I thought he might be on his way up after that fight. Then I remember you told me to look at the Ponce De Leon fight, and I instantly changed my mind :lol1:
I saw that fight live and was like what the hell :lol1: then Larry came through with fighter of the decade I believe.
He was never that good. 'Certain' fans bought into him because of his style. Well replica of a certain style ....

Broner is a fraud. How are you going to be the one of the best fighters in the world if you lose to someone like Ponce in your first big fight?
Broner has never been an elite fighter and will never be an elite fighter because he can't beat an elite fighter. Who did he beat when he won his belts?
Dead ass nobody :lol1: even the Pauline win is debatable
I wonder where he goes from here. There's winnable fights at 140 for him, but when he fights someone real decent, he will lose again.
I watch him and wonder where this talk of 'wasted talent' comes from. I don't think it's anything to do with motivation or drive, i just think it's that he's not good enough to go to that next level.
His defense isn't the best, nor his power, or his footwork. He's hesitant when fighting good guys. Doesn't adjust.
I'm not hating, it's just that i don't think he's talented enough to beat the top guys.
Even when he was winning down at the lower weights, his flaws were there to be seen.
Yeah he's far from slick. He blocks punches with his face a la Rios. Having a high guard and getting punched over and over and shaking ur head everytime reminds me of Rios alot.
Would u favor prime Rios vs Broner? I know I would. Too much activity and a chin. He wouod have beat Broner badly. That tells alot abt Broner lol
Yea id actually pick prime rios to beat him similair to what maidana and porter did.
They thought he was the new floyd lmaooooooooo
Dat slickness doe son

You can't undo the damage you've done to yourself in 1 training camp against a top 5 p4p fighter. It was YEARS of lack of motivation, proper training, and focus.
With the right tactics, consistent improvements and proper adjustments, he could have beat Mikey. But it has to be at least 3 fights before you see that level of Broner. He has the talent. He needs to put it together and really focus, work on it, and string a few fights together to consistently do this in able for him to hit that level and compete up there with the elites.
He CAN be elite and he CAN beat elites. He just needs to focus not for just 1 fight, for MULTIPLE fights and be consistent and work on improvement, growth, and his game-plan and how to adjust accordingly mid fights. The keyword for him: Discipline.
How could he think he can just put that all together in 1 fight against a fighter of Mikey's level?
Mikey IS the real deal btw, and from my eye test he DOES have more to his game than we even saw last night and mark my words and quote me you will see him take down more ELITE fighters if given the opportunity to fight them. He beats Crawford, his ring IQ and ability to make adjustments on the fly and on a per second basis is up there with the likes of Mayweather and Andre Ward. Mikey has THAT type of brain. Mayweather, Ward, Mikey Garcia are all in that same category of brains inside the ring.
He's not beating Crawford...too much laterall movement...Bud has that "type of brain" too...

I like Mikey but how many elite boxers has he beaten?
No, Broner can never be elite.Just because you have not beaten elite fighters does NOT mean you are not elite. The majority of the elite fighters have not fought an elite opponent like themselves because we are in the day and age where elite fighters do not face each other.
The only truly elite fighter with an elite resume on the p4p list is Andre Ward.

I've said that for a while. Broner is just one of those fighters who was managed extremely well in divisions where there were no 'monsters' at the time for belts that were either vacated or won by fighters that won a vacated title which in turn makes them not the most legitimate champions.
Talented fighter, of course. Just about talented enough to sneak wins or dominate wins against sub-par, below average opponents.
When he bumps into a real one it's pretty much a loss before he even enters the ring. All that partying, drinking and controversy eventually will show in any boxers work. There's no way you can take boxing any less than 100%. Your life must revolve around boxing day and night. You let that slip there will be someone more dedicated waiting in the wings to whoop your ass back into boxing school.
He still does have a career in boxing for sure. He just needs to somehow wait for an opportunity where there are no truly talented and dedicated boxers in his path before making a run for a gimme belt. Or man up and face the highest threat and the biggest names and become a warrior like Cotto who has losses against some of the best yet he does not get **** on. That's unlikely though. He just doesn't seem to have it in him to let them hands go.
I like what he said after the fight. "I wanna thank those who came out to see me lose". They'll still pay to see Broner lose. Just like how they pay for the small chance to see Mayweather lose. The same case for Khan, Ward even Golovkin etc. Basically anyone who has an obvious case of racism, politics, bigotry and their self inflated egos fuelling the reason for boxing 'fans' to pay for the chance to see them lose.
I'd like to see Jorge Linares get a crack at Mikey Garcia. I have a feeling Linares will do to Mikey what Mikey did to Broner. Mikey seems to be extremely strong with the fundamentals of boxing but Linares is by far the more talented of the two when it comes to pure boxing skills. Not like Broner who was twitching scared all night with his fake flashes of 'skill'.
I hope Mikey carries on fighting names like Broner et al. I'm loving these big fights PBC puts together.
