holy ****, this movie sucks. OK, not sucks, but they rushed everything. And wtf at having some 30ish year old looking guy mackin on a high school girl early on in the movie. Looked pedosih.
I mean in the boxing category of movies, Rocky started it all. I haven't seen Raging Bull so I can't comment on that.
there were many b4 rocky, one of them with an Oscar if I remember correctly, I just can't remember which was.
Anyway, watch Raging bull, it is great!
sorry but there are many movies that top rocky, which I love.
let me give you one example:
raging bull.

Ehh, nothing will ever top the original Rocky and besides, Hollywood's been sucking ass for the longest, nothing but remakes and superheroes movies.

Its pretty good. De Niro's a restaurant/bar owner in Montreal as a front but in actuality he's a professional thief. He, Ed Norton and Marlon Brando get together to pull a major heist in the city. I think the planning and execution of the robbery is interesting.
Yeah, I remember the bar scene with Brando. I'll check it out tonight, or sometime this week.
Haven't watched all of score. Isn't that movie kind of boring, or am I thinking of another movie?

Most biopics tend to be disappointing. I haven't seen this one but I had a feeling it would not be a great movie like Raging Bull. DeNiro has been mailing it in for the last twenty years, and too many movies that are made today do not have that gritty feel to them, they need to be watered down so they can appeal to a broader audience.
I also skipped over "Bleed for This" Vinny Pazienza's movie. Anyone see it? Recommend it?
good flick. acting was on point and story line didn't do much deviation. solid movie.
it was impressively bad. i didn't make it all the way through. jake gyllenhal's crap performance in southpaw > deniro and all those other studs in hands.

Another good one was "The Score" with DeNiro and Ed Norton.

What was the last watchable movie De Niro was in?
His acting career seems to be at about the same stage RJJ's boxing career is at.
He's almost unwatchable at this point.

hasnt had a great movie as the lead in like 20 years. Did some decent movies as support in silver linings playbook, stardust and some others.
But he is currently filming a new scorsese movie for netflix with pacino and pesci.
You got deniro, the guy from, 'gold', and a bunch of other really good actors. How did they **** it up so bad???

He hasnt given a flying fuk in decades, as soon as he said ' yeah ok' to rocky & bullwinkle he obviously had a yacht to pay for and didnt give a crap about movies anymore.
I think Heat was the last good movie hes been in?
Yeah, he was a beast in Heat.
The Clue being Deniro hasnt been in a good movie in over 20 years :pat:
He can still give a good performance like silver lining. And he was playing a legendary guy like Ray Arcel. Would think he'd put more than a ****ty effort into the role.

Haha I agree with both you guys. De Niro has been living way too long off of his legendary status. Can't even consider him the same actor anymore. He was very good in "Silver Linings Playbook," which was, as far as I know, his last good performance; but "Heat" might've been his last good starring role. Everyone starts to suck once they sell out. Few actors do it like Daniel Day-Lewis, who has done very few roles, but delivers nothing short of top-quality.
