If anyone here thinks Floyd Mayweather is not a aggressive fighter need to watch Mayweather vs Gatti in particular round 6. It was such a bad beating that I don't think I've seen such a brutal display of combinations and accuracy since ali vs Williams in 1966.
Fast forward to the current period, if the fight with mcregor goes past 4 rounds mcregor may slow down. Since styles make fights in boxing and mma fights only go up to 5 rounds or 3 rounds (depending if it's a title match or not), we might witness a repeat of gatti vs Mayweather.....
Yea he's deadly when he sniffs blood. Yes granted a lot of his victories have been on points but in every sport speed kills. Floyd has crazy hand speed. At 40, I still think he can do serious damage
well he wasnt. he hit shopworn gatti with 100 unanswered punches and barely moved him. prime gatti was getting dropped and badly hurt on single punches from wilson rodriguez and gabriel ruelas and floyds 100 punches couldnt hurt him as much(cept the hook he dropped gatti with after the ref said stopped punching but that was a you are the a-side you dont have to follow the rules type of ruling)
Floyd wasn't the A side back then you fvcking bonehead...Gatti had MASSIVE popularity and the fight was in NJ...certainly not Floyd's home turf. You're ignorance is astounding.
The 2nd minute of the 6th round was painful to watch...:ugh: I actually felt really bad for Gatti. He didn't deserve to get a pounding that bad, my goodness :nonono:
Floyd started having hand problems worse and worse after this fight. It's a shame he wasn't able to keep giving us performances like this because of it. People forget how much of a monster he was at 130 and the fights he had at 135 and 140, very entertaining fights. This was also the fight that made Bob Arum not make Mayweather-Cotto, he was considering it at the time then as soon as this happened he was like "We need more time to build Cotto up and make it a big fight" :lol1:
Seeing that after all these years I didn't remember how Floyd was actually bigger than Gatti.
Mayweather goes on berserker mode when he sees no danger in his opponent.
McConnor Greyjoy better bring something to the table or else after 3 rounds he will be broken down systematically
Ofc Pretty Boy Floyd is aggressive. The only ones that will say otherwise are p*ctards and casuals. 130-140 floyd was a think of beauty to watch. Power in both hands, quick pull counters, and crisp clean combinations.
If mcregor gets tired and slows down he's going to receive a similar fate as Gatti. Mma fights don't go past 5 rounds. So for example in the ninth round Conor will be caked. Floyd is a devastating fighter when he sniffs blood.
Bro even Floyd himself admits that he hasnt been able to fight like that after the Gatti fight due to hand issues. He can't magically turn back the clock 10+ years for this fight.
I believe he will toy with McGregor and most likely knock him out tho..
Uh Gatti TKO'd Ruelas and the Rodriguez was in 96??? He got Ktfod????
Also These were light weight and super light weight.
Floyd was destroying guys at 135. I don't see how that doesent make him aggressive. Do yo have to ko someone to be aggressive?
I remember larry and Jim calling floyd a power puncher. Floyd was quite aggressive below 145

To be fair steward said in round 3 after a round that Mosley hurt Floyd that Mosley was struggling to deal with Floyd's speed and seemed uncoordinated
Of course he's allowed to change his mind, but I hate it when people do a total 180 and act like they knew exactly what would happen when they predicted the opposite. What do we expect though? These networks really only have one goal with their commentary, to push their agenda and try to make the fans buy into it.
Rest in Peace to Manny Steward but he was known for that sh"t. Before the Mosley fight he was like "The number 1 fight I want to see is Shane, he's faster and has more power" then as soon as it was over "I knew it, he never had a chance at this point in his career". :nono: Before the fight he said he favored Shane to win.
Yeah looking back Floyd was obviously better than Gatti but let's be real nobody expected him to get wrecked like that. Same thing with the Baldomir, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley fights. Nobody expected him to totally dominate and win those fights as easily as he did. Why can't they just give him the credit? :nonono:

I agree it was tough watching such a beating. Even the HBO commentators like manny steward were like "I knew it I was telling you guys along" yea right that performance by Floyd shocked everyone no doubt.....

You cant use the Gatti fight to gauge Floyd's aggressiveness . Floyd had a slow, flat footed brawler in front of him and he caught on to gatti's rythm quick.
Gatti was tailor made for him. Floyd invisioned how he would beat him and he did exactly what he said he would do.
